Always important to get one against the cowboys.

Yeah, I was cackling when Romo threw it right to Amukamara. Then Brown had a few big carries. It was over!

So I'll try to get in the box score for next game bs. Tampa Bay tonight, if not tomorrow. Also, a special twist will probably be happening after this game.

Giants Kick Last Second Field Goal To Beat Bucs 24-21

It wasn't that pretty. Wilson had a 51 yard TD scamper in the first, and then fumbled and was benched. Cruz had 5 catches for 136 yards, and Andre Brown had a two-yard TD run.
But we allowed Dallas Clark to go 8/119/2, which should not happen with an old tight end.

Offensive POG: Cruz, who had some spiffy catches for 136 yards and was the real go-to receiver all day.

Defensive POG: Will Hill pick-six. Turned out to be huge.

Again, I'll have a more in-depth analysis Tuesday (I hope.).

Re: Big Blue: A New York Giants Dynasty

The MMQB.png

Resilience was the watchword for the Giants in their 24-21 win over Tampa Bay. They fought back from a devastatingly superior connection between Mike Glennon and Dallas Clark. They fought back from David Wilson's fumbles. But the entire game, seemingly, Tampa Bay was the team coming back.

Andre Brown has been cut from so many teams that every day he is excited to be a key member of the New York Giants. He had a two-yard carry for a TD in the first quarter, a second chance effort after he was rebuffed the first time. This embodies his career: he's getting his second stint with the Giants after being cut from nearly every division in the NFL. Brown took over after David Wilson fumbled and Brown ended with 41 yards on 9 carries.

Victor Cruz may be the best-known UDFA in the NFL. He emerged in Week 3 of 2011 with a huge game against the Philadephia Eagles. He had another great game against the Buccaneers, with five catches for a game-high 136 yards. One of those was a spectacular catch after a bobble, reminiscent of Cruz's one-hander in Philadelphia. If he can keep up his spectacular play, this may be his best season yet.

Josh Brown kicked the game-winning FG with 0:05 to play for the second straight game, and he is now 4/5 on FGs this year. Eli Manning led the G-men on a game-winning drive after Doug Martin had punched in a 1-yd TD to even the game at 21. Will Hill, recipient of a 4-game suspension last year, had a pick-six late in the first half.

This is Giants football: resilience. They were 6-7 the year they won their 2nd (4th) Super Bowl, and they won their last 3 games of the regular season. This year they may be easily into the playoffs, but resilience must be a large part of the team against seemingly superior opponents.

Thursday Night Snoozefest in Carolina As Giants Win 10-9

What a boring game. 4 field goals, one TD. The only reason people stayed tuned was to see if Coughlin would continue to bench David Wilson after he fumbled—and they saw it. Luckily for Big Blue, Andre Brown had a very solid game and Eli Manning connected with Hakeem Nicks at the end of the second quarter for the game's only TD.

Offensive POG: Brown, very consistent and he ripped off a couple of big-gainers late.

Defensive POG: Honourable mention goes to Corey Webster, who had 2 picks (no, you're not dreaming). But JPP gets it for a monster game: 8 TKL, 5 for loss, 4 sacks.

The Old Guard Shows Up
Elder Giants' Core Carries Team To Victory

J
ason Pierre-Paul stood grinning at his locker moments after the conclusion of the Giants' 10-9 win over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night. He was talking about his awkward exchange with Panthers' QB Cam Newton at midfield after the Giants had knelt one last time: "I mean, what do I say to a guy I've been crushing for the past few hours?"

D
uring the Giants' 2007 SB run, in the wildcard round against Tampa Bay, Corey Webster hauled in a pick to snuff out the Bucs' last hopes. In the conference championship game, his pick of Brett Favre in OT basically sent the Giants to the Super Bowl. But for the last couple of years, supporters have been hankering for his release due to ineffectiveness against good WRs. Maybe this game, with two big interceptions, will snuff out the doubters.

Jon Beason's return to Carolina was bittersweet: a win that pushed the Giants to 3-0 is the sweet, the emergence of Luke Kuechly the bittersweet. Beason mentored Kuechly, and as Beason says: "It's hard not to remember that the job he's doing now is the job he pushed me out of."

T
he Giants are not exactly an old-folks home, but their core is aging: Manning is getting older, Tuck, Webster, Antrel Rolle. What they all need, before they ride off into the sunset, is a ride into the sunset: a Super Bowl victory. If JPP, Webster, and Hakeem Nicks (4/20/TD) all play at this level, that's not to much to ask for in Big Blue land.
