Re: "Pride of Detroit" - A Detroit Lions dynasty (M25 CFM)

Apologies for the lack of updates. I was in Iceland last week whilst I struggled with time in previous weeks. Looking to start updating frequently again shortly.

Re: "Pride of Detroit" - A Detroit Lions dynasty (M25 CFM)

NFL NEWSWIRE - 2013 WEEK #4

No Evident Rust - 36-year-old TCU QB Blake 'Pop' Warren is now 4-0 with 12 TDs after leading TCU to a 42-13 victory in Kansas.

Dropped In The Clutch - Led by UCF WR Shady Monroe's 3 TD performance, UCF had a chance to upset #10 Penn State, but Monroe drops OT winner.

Hey, Look At Me! - Eastern Michigan K Doug Bloot is a huge-legged kicker and mediocre backup QB trying to get on the NFL Draft radar.

Building Momentum - The Seattle Seahawks have now made it through Week 4 without a loss on the season.

Chasing A Legend - Drew Brees is passing all-time greats while still passing all over defenses. He's now above Fran Tarkenton on the all-time passing yards list.

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefterEA: It's official: ageless wonder Pop Warren is officially lighting it up.

Mark Schlereth @MarkSchlerethEA: I'd almost forgotten that Shady Monroe had terrible hands. Then he reminded me in OT. Thanks for that.

Skip Bayless @SkipBaylessEA: Here's a guy you haven't heard about but you will: Doug Bloot. The Rudy of Kickers.

Matt Miller @MattMillerEA: Are people seriously getting excited about the Seahawks going 4-0? In the words of my friend's kid: "chillax"

Skip Bayless @SkipBaylessEA: If you're looking for who I want to be my QB, it's Drew Brees, the guy moving up the charts. #recordwatch

Re: "Pride of Detroit" - A Detroit Lions dynasty (M25 CFM)

PACKERS BEAT LIONS 33-20 - DEFENSE HOLDS DETROIT TO 180 YARDS OF OFFENSE

MATTHEW STAFFORD HAS BAD DAY AT THE OFFICE - TURNED THE BALL OVER 4 TIMES IN LOSS

GREEN BAY, WI -- The Detroit Lions fell to the Green Bay Packers 33-20 at Lambeau Field in what was truly a bad day at the office for the Lions in a game that started so brightly as Detroit led 14-0 early on in the 1st quarter.

The Packers' offense came out firing on all cylinders as quarterback Aaron Rodgers led the offense down to the redzone. Rookie running back Eddie Lacy fumbled after a hit by Tahir Whitehead, which Stephen Tulloch took 86 yards to the house.

The fans at Lambeau barely sat down before the Lions were back in the endzone, as Ndamukong Suh stripped quarterback Rodgers resulting in a fumble which was picked up by C.J. Mosley who strolled into the endzone, giving the Lions an early 14-point lead.

But that was virtually it on the scoring-front for the Lions. Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for under 200 yards and 3 interceptions, as well as losing a fumble. He didn't have much help from anyone other than Brandon Pettigrew and Calvin Johnson, who led the way for the Lions offense - an offense that was held to only 35 yards rushing on the day.

Stafford was sacked 5 times by a potent Packers defense that helped out it's offense big-time! Had it not been for the Packers' defense, this is a game that the Lions would have ran away with due to their 14-point head start.

Rodgers threw for 264 yards and a touchdown to Jordy Nelson. Tailback Lacy also ran in for a score. Casey Hayward added the Packers final touchdown, taking a Stafford interception into the endzone for the pick-6.

The Lions defense however caused the Packers a lot of problems, adding to their 2 early forced turnovers. They sacked Rodgers 5 times with Willie Young leading the way with 3 as he continues his breakout season, taking his sack-total up to 9 on the season. They also intercepted 2 of Rodgers' passes, as his offensive line struggled to cope with the strong Lions' defensive-front. Safeties Glover Quin and Louis Delmas came away with the picks.

Quin later left the game through injury adding to the Lions' woes. However, it turned out to be a bruised sternum - he should play next week. The Lions also get Reggie Bush back next week, a weapon that could aid Stafford's offense.

Next week, the Packers are in Baltimore to face the Ravens whilst the Lions head to Cleveland to face the Browns.

Re: "Pride of Detroit" - A Detroit Lions dynasty (M25 CFM)

NFL NEWSWIRE - 2013 WEEK #5

The New Nigerian Nightmare - Nigerian track star exchange student Lehigh RB Hakeem Okonkwo is fast and powerful; only injuries could slow him down.

By Zip And By Kick - Eastern Michigan K Doug Bloot kicks three 60-yard plus FGs and throws for a TD in Eastern Michigan's 19-16 win over Central Michigan.

Building A Winner - Today was not just another victory for Jeff Fisher, it was win 100.

Last To Fall - The Seahawks had built up a nice streak of wins before falling 40-23 to the Colts this week.

Anything But A Draft Bust - It's becoming less of a question that Reggie Wayne will end up in Canton. He's moved into 8th on the all-time receptions list.

Is He Ready? - The Miami Dolphins have announced that their new starting halfback is Lamar Miller.

Trey Wingo @WingozEA: I know what everyone else does about Hakeem Okonkwo: grapevine says he's fast and strong. Beyond that? He's a mystery.

Todd McShay @ToddMcShayEA: Never in the history of man has a kicker done as much for the game of football as Doug Bloot. Kudos.

Mark Schlereth @MarkSchlerethEA: There's so much pressure on NFL head coaches, and I think J. Fisher handles that better than the rest.

Matt Miller @MattMillerEA: Every team has lost a game this season. What are we going to talk about for the rest of the season?

Mike Hill @MikeHillEA: It's a matter of health and performance with Reggie Wayne. He get's on that field and always performs.

Ross Tucker @RossTuckerEA: Critics say Lamar Miller will struggle as the Dolphins' starter. Count me as one of them.
