New Teams Brings Conference Changes

The American Conference really didn't need to change at all, but the competition committe felt that it just made sense to add Army and Navy.

Division A
Houston
Rutgers
Louisville
Connecticut
Cincinnati
Memphis

Division B
UCF
SMU
USF
Navy
Army
Temple

With Akron being shifted out of the FBS, the MAC gets a little bit of a shakeup as Toledo will shift into the MAC East to join the rest of the Ohio schools, and Western Kentucky will jump into the MAC West.

MAC East
Ohio
Toledo
Buffalo
Kent State
Bowling Green
Miami University

MAC West
Western Kentucky
Ball State
Northern Illinois
Central Michigan
Western Michigan
Eastern Michigan

With UAB leaving the FBS as well, Conference USA receives a bit of a shakeup. Southern Miss will change sides to the West, while the Texas teams (UTEP, UTSA, and North Texas) are leaving for the Sun Belt and Arkansas State, South Alabama, Georgia State, and Troy are joining the conference.

C-USA East
ECU
Florida Atlantic
Mid Tenn State
FIU
Troy
Marshal
Georgia State

C-USA West
Tulsa
Rice
Louisiana Tech
Arkansas State
Southern Miss
Tulane
South Alabama

That's right!!!! THE WAC IS BACK! With the team shifts the Sun Belt basically dismantled and allowed for the re-emergence of the Western Athletic Conference.

WAC East
UL Monroe
UL Lafayette
North Texas
UTEP
UTSA
Texas State

WAC West
Eastern Washington
North Dakota State
Idaho
New Mexico State
UC Davis
UC Cal Poly

The Independents have now been diminished to the two teams that really wanted to be independent from everyone in Notre Dame and BYU. This may change eventually, but for now this is how it is.

UC Davis Finishes First Season 4-8, Finish 2nd in WAC West

The first season had a lot of ups and downs for the UC Davis Aggies as they finished with a 4-8 record. They did beat their rival UC Cal Poly and also blow out UTSA 41-0, but suffered a lot of losses. Despite losing 8 games, the Aggies did finish 2nd in the WAC West division, which I suppose is a decent finish (depending how you look at it.

The Aggies also felt the season in their recruiting class as players just weren't certain about the team and where it was headed. Despite that, Coach Tui was able to help land Mario Mann, a 6'4 233 lb 3* recruit from Pensacola, FL, who had UC Davis pegged as his #1 from the get go. This was huge as Davis lost it's top defensive linemen and Mann will be able to step in on day 1.

Other than Mann, the rest of the guys landed by UC Davis will serve as role players and fillers for now as most were under the radar guys who may or may not have great skills.

Davis ended up landing 11 players (9 3* and 2 2*) and ranked 112th nationally.

WAC Standings
WAC West
Eastern Washington 6-6 (6-3)
Cal Poly 7-6 (6-4)
UC Davis 4-8 (4-5)
Idaho 2-10 (2-7)
New Mexico State 2-10 (2-7)
North Dakota State 5-7 (2-7)

WAC East
##UL Lafayette 9-5 (8-2) (21-17 win vs Cal Poly)
North Texas 8-5 (7-2)
UL Monroe 7-5 (6-3)
UTEP 6-6 (5-4)
UTSA 5-7 (4-5)
Texas State 4-8 (3-6)

Texas A&M played host to Missouri for the 2014 BCS National Championship game against Heisman winner James Franklin. Although Franklin hoisted more awards this year than anybody, it the final moments of the season it was all A&M as Manziel blasted the Missouri defense for 5 passing touchdowns, while their defense held Franklin to under 40% passing.
  • James Franklin wins Heisman, Walter Camp, Davey O'Brien, and Maxwell awards with 160-341, 2213 Yds, 205 Car, 895 Yds, 40 Total TDs
  • Marcus Williams, CB, of North Dakota State wins Bednarick, Nagurski, and Thorpe awards with 24 TKL, 8 TFL, 39 ATK, 3 SCK, 2 FF, and TD
  • Marcus Williams (North Dakota State CB) and Chris Nicholls (Cal Poly WR) both 1st team All-Americans

Re: The Coaching Career of Marques Tuiasosopo (NCAA 14)

Looks good, you know i will be following..

You know Coach Gould is a former BSU guy was the DB coach back when I was in high school.

Question regarding recruiting. I see you posted the same rules I setup for myself,so I was wondering are you giving yourself 1 player each year to recruit outside the rules (A player who gets zero scholarship offers by Week 7) because I noticed you only signed a couple of 3* guy's.

Good to see EWU have success in 2013, hopefully they do well later as well.
