Owners Corner:

Scouting

Well it seems like I don't have to look far for my draft prospects; Miami University features 2 prospects that are playing positions I need; both Leroy Lester (MLB) and James Evans (RB).

Our first home game this week! Welcome to The Fire Pit. I cannot wait to see how the fans are and let's see if our hot defense can't stay being hot.

Buffalo Bills @ Mexico City Diablos

Let me just comment on how absolutely beautiful this stadium looks. The grass is prestine, and the sea of red and black in the stands is definitely awe-inspiring. Cannot wait to get these rowdy fans something to really cheer about.

This game was an absolute blowout until I began getting careless toward the end of the game. I was trying to round out the stats of some of my players and ended up throwing 2 INTs late in the game that directly led to Bills scores and crappier numbers for Dane Honani.

The Offense today was amazing; simply amazing. I was so happy with how easily Rashad Jennings absolutely dominated today. He only needed 11 carries to bypass the 100 yard marker; and ended up with over 200 yards on the day including his 1st Quarter monster catch that was set up by some amazing blocking by rookie Effem Carrington and Denarius Moore even got in a nice shoulder block that leveled Kiko Alonso. The Passing Attack was much better than the numbers show, as I forced a few INTs late in the game trying to pad my stats; but it was a great game today throwing the ball, receivers just could not be contained.

The Defense was again just dominating. Take away one long pass in the beginning of the game and you have another legendary performance. Lamarr Houston is showing his value by obtaining 3 sacks. The Pass Defense picked off E.J. Manuel 5 times and I could not be happier. The Rush Defense also stuffed the line and kept their rushing attack that features C.J. Spiller and DeMarco Murray to under 75 yards.

A Very Impressive game today all-around and an amazing showing for the Mexico City die-hards!

Ah, and here are the pics of the new uniforms..

Re: A New Owner.. Raiders become Diablos (XBone|M25)

Season 2, Week 3

*****Slider Changes******
Changing Quarter Length to 13 Minutes and Increasing the Play Clock Runoff to 15 seconds.

Player Performance Rankings
  • D. Honani: 462 Passing Yards – 13th in NFL
  • R. Jennings: 210 Rushing Yards – 7th in NFL
  • L. Houston: 5 Sacks – 1st in NFL**
  • K. Burnett: 3 Sacks - 6th in NFL
Team Performance Rankings
  • Raiders Offensive Rank: 9th - 713 Total Offensive Yards

    • Pass: 16th – 461 Total Passing Yards
    • Rush: 12th – 252 Total Rushing Yards
  • Raiders Defensive Rank: 2nd - 384 Total Yards Allowed

    • Pass: 2nd – 301 Total Passing Yards Allowed
    • Rush: 1st – 83 Total Rushing Yards Allowed
Draft Stories:
Team Needs: RB, WR, TE, DT, ROLB, CB, FS
  • Record-Breaking Pace: Miami MLB Leroy Lester is on pace to break sack, INT, tackles and forced fumbles records.
    • "Seems impossible that Leroy Lester is this good. Hands of a WR, motor of Ray Lewis, and he forces so many fumbles." - Susannah Collins
  • Slow Start: Miami RB James Evans struggles early, only has 125 yards on the ground after two games.
    • "Wasn't James Evans supposed to rewrite record books this season? Snails pace so far." - Susannah Collins

Owners Corner:

Injuries
  • Nick Roach (MLB) - Pulled Groin (3 Weeks)
Scouting

I have 10,000 Scouting Points saved up from the last offseason, so I can now scout a player's Development Rating.
  • Leroy Lester is already looking like a beast Middle Linebacker

    • with Nick Roach looking like he is going to be getting hurt all the time, I may need to look at a MLB in the draft, maybe I can make a trade that will net me a top-5 pick so I can get him.

    • I will be scouting his Development Rating this week; and his Development Rating is: a Star. He started at #25 Overall, but has moved up to #14.
Offensive Approach
  • Dane Honani has been great this year, but below average in the turnover department, posting an even TD:INT ratio, I need to run the ball a little more efficiently and make smarter decisions.

  • Rashad Jennings earned his reps last week. I will be giving more of the load to Rashad Jenninngs and passing it more to Marcel Reece.

This was such a great game today I can't believe I almost threw the game at the very end thanks to my being stubborn and a dare.

The Offense today was phenomenal posting huge numbers against the Packers D. Dane Honani once again posted an even TD:INT but kept it 2:2.. He hit rookie WR Orlan Cosby the most; he is coming into his own as a great possession receiver and may end up becoming my 3rd WR if Rod Streater continues dropping passes the way he has been (one of Honani's interceptions was because of Streater's stone-hands, and went right into the hands of Captain Munnerlyn who ran back the ball for a Pick-Six) Rashad Jennings is putting together a phenomenal start to this season posting another 80+ yards on the ground while once again nabbing a giant Screen pass in for a score of 40+ yards.

The Defense was not as effective as the first couple games, but you have to give a little leeway as we were facing the high-powered Packers assault led by laser-accurate Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers hit his main boys (Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson) for scores today and spread the ball around quite well against our stout Pass D. He is the first QB since Peyton Manning last year to post 300+ against us through the air. However, Lamarr Houston is continuing his historic season by posting another 3 sacks, bringing his season total to 8 through week 3. The Rush Defense also was a little lackluster today, Eddie Lacy was easily able to post good yardage against us, he literally doubled the amount we gave up through the first 2 games; however we were able to keep it under 100.

Now I will explain the "dare" from the beginning of this blurb.. My friend Jeff was in a party with me and is a Packers fan. I had mentioned to him that I was beating the Packers and he told me there was no chance in hell that that could happen; so I wanted to make the game a little closer so I played a little hard-headed. Up by 13 points with under 2 minutes left I decided to let the CPU play for me, and Aaron Rodgers led the Packers downfield in 4 plays and scored a TD to bring them within 6. I got the onside kick, and ran 3 plays to drain the Packers' timeouts; so on 4th and inches I decided to go for it, as Jeff challenged me -- I failed..So after being stuffed on 4th down my punishment for losing the dare-bet was putting my controller down and letting the CPU run the defense again; this time they were amazing, deflecting the first 2 passes and sacking him on the next two plays - Game. Set. Match.

Now for Pictures of the New Uniforms!

    • "Leroy Lester just an entire season's worth of stats for most people into one game" - Trey Wingo

Owners Corner:

Scouting
:
  • Leroy Lester is clearly still tops on my Big Board; no changes there.. Have to start looking at other prospects for the positions I need.

Other Players I am Starting to Scout

  • RB: Benji Cornelius: Seems like a good HB that is a 6th Round prospect. From what I have scouted he has some 2nd / 3rd round ratings for his skills.
  • TE: Dave Joyce: One of two 6'5" TE's (the other is named Sione Head) that are projected in the top 3 rounds, but has the best Size / Production grades. His scouted skills are very pedestrian however; will not make him a priority.
  • DT: Alec Burns: Scouted him out of random choice, and has B/C grades for the basic DT skills I chose to scout (Finesse / Power Moves, Block Shed, Tackle, Hit Power, Awareness, Play Recognition)
  • CB: Rajion Ameen: Better 2nd Round choice over Alec Burns for sure - scouted only a few skills (basically used up all of my left over scouting points) but the ones I did scout were B's and C's.

Another amazing game for the Diablos - cannot believe the turnaround this franchise is having; I can't help but feel a bit giddy thinking I am turning this team around so well.

The Offense was incredible today, Dane Honani finally looked like he was getting used to the NFL by posting a 2:1 ratio (finally only a single turnover, and A POSITIVE TD:INT!!!). He spread the ball around very well, hitting the stud Emmanuel Sanders a team-high 5 times for 94 yards. One player that is impressing the hell out of me is Orlan Cosby the rookie out of Miami University (OH), who is absolutely turning into my favorite red-zone target out of the WR4 spot (4 rec, 47 yards, 1 TD). Rashad Jennings posted another solid game today (19 rushes for 71 yards 1 Rush TD, 3 receptions for 17 yards) and Marcel Reece finally posted a great game on the ground, rumbling over defenders for 77 yards on just 11 carries.

The Defense was once again stellar. We were facing 3rd string QB Kellen Moore (both Matthew Stafford and backup Jimmy Clausen were out with injuries) and made him look like a seasoned veteran - as he threw for 275 yards and only 1 INT. Once again the front seven were running rampant in the pocket - but Pat Sims was the star of today totaling 3 sacks - a game high, on a day where we brought Moore down 9 times. Calvin Johnson was just unbearable to cover; every type of coverage I threw at him he beat when he was targeted. Reggie Bush couldn't get anything going against our Rush Defense and that made me very happy after the Pass D was less than impressive.

    • Rush: 1st – 189 Total Rushing Yards Allowed
Draft Stories:
Team Needs: RB, TE, DT, ROLB, CB, FS
  • Neon Deon: Michigan's Deon Lewis is a big play CB making a splash.
    • "If there's one CB that has me intrigued, it's Deon Lewis. He's high risk, high reward, but the payoff is usually great." - Ross Tucker

  • Settling In: Miami RB James Evans has upped his receiving and blocking game.
    • "I like that James Evans is branching out, but what about just running hard for yards? When did that stop?" - Trey Wingo
Owners Corner:

Scouting
:

  • While Deon Lewis is being touted as a boom-or-bust top prospect I am still going to keep my eye on Rajioon Ameen who seems to have just as good if not better ratings than Lewis.
Injuries:
  • I get Nick Roach (MLB) back this week - and once again Jamar Chaney goes back on the bench even though he posted amazing numbers.

Blowout from beginning to end. I wasn't expecting much of a fight with a team who was missing their only good player in Adrian Peterson; but this was insane.

The Offense was absolutely stellar today, Dane Honani finally broke out and had an amazing game; throwing for 350 yards and 4 TDs (to only 2 INTs). The final two scores did come in late garbage time, but they still count; I wasn't trying to run up the score, I happened to just hit the Denarius Moore on a 3rd and Goal, and got absolutely beautiful blocking on the Rod Streater reception. Rashad Jennings put together a decent game on the ground rushing for 73 yards on 17 carries and caught 4 balls for 78 yards (one screen went for 56 yards). Marcel Reece had the lone score on the ground today and also put up good numbers (10 rushes for 51 yards, 1 TD). Honani was able to spread the ball around very well today, but the main benefactors were out of the backfield for sure.

The Defense today was absolutely amazing. Througout the first half we only allowed 89 passing yards and 15 rushing; however in the second half we began to give up a little more yardage as the Vikings were just trying to get down the field by any means necessary. Josh Freeman was able to put up 250+ yards, but threw 2 INTs to no touchdowns; and starting RB Bobby Rainey was only able to rush for 24 yards on 14 carries. Sio Moore busted out for 3 sacks, and Lamarr Houston continues his historic start by adding another 2 sacks to his season total.

Re: A New Owner.. Raiders become Diablos (XBone|M25)

Season 2, Week 7

I accidentally deleted my draft that had all the Player Stats and Team Stats before the game was played, so that will be skipped for this week.

Draft Stories:
Team Needs: RB, TE, DT, ROLB, CB, FS
  • Keep it Up: Another huge game for Miami MLB Leroy Lester vs Florida St.: 1 INT, 5 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles
    • "Does anyone else get tired just watching Leroy Lester? He manages to be in the middle of every single play" - Todd McShay
  • Big Winner: Auburn QB Willie Duckett taking the SEC by storm with wins over LSU and Alabama.
    • "It's not that Willie Duckett beat LSU and Bama, it's that he STEAMROLLED them." - Susannah Collins
Owners Corner:

Scouting

  • I am seriously considering trading up multiple picks for a top draft pick before the Trade Deadline next week.

Wow, heading into this game I was expecting a little bit of a fight and I really either was facing a fake 4-2 team or my 5-0 team is a legitimate Juggernaut.

The Offense today was legen-wait for it.... dary (had to, sorry). Dane Honani had one of the single greatest games a rookie QB has ever played (21/25 (84% Completion), 139.2 QBR, 298 Yards, 5 TDs : 1 INT) and spread the ball beautifully around to the receiving corps; hitting 8 different targets on the day, and hitting 6 for multiple receptions. The big benefactors of Honani's performance were Mychal Rivera (4/52/1), Emmanuel Sanders (4/56/1), and once again Orlan Cosby (3/37/2). Denarius Moore had a big day as well (3/67/0) and on 2 different receptions was stopped inside the 10 yard line right before waltzing into the end zone. The Rushing attack was above-average today, Rashad Jennings managed a 5 yard average (16/80/0), but saw a better looking game through the air (2/47/1).

While it was an amazing game on the offensive side of the ball, we saw an even better game on the Defensive Side. The Pass Defense was letting up nothing through the air, only allowing a long of 14 yards before the 4th Quarter garbage time TD. Joe Flacco was absolutely horrible against our Defense, and in the Second Half threw 3 straight INTs to Alteraun Verner, D.J. Hayden, and Mike Jenkins. It was great to see our corners finally start to take the ball away rather than knock it down. Lamarr Houston was an animal today, not just collapsing the pocket (2 Sacks) but chasing down receivers on the short passes (6 Tackles); including a phenomenal play where he chased down TE Dennis Pitta who was on the opposite side of the field and managed to run him down before he got passed the 1st down marker.

    • Rush: 1st – 289 Total Rushing Yards Allowed (--)
Draft Stories:
Team Needs: RB, TE, DT, ROLB, CB, FS

none

Owners Corner:

Injuries:
  • Clearly signing a Trainer that is actually amazing at their job has its benefits; I have only had one injury so far this year and it was a quick recovery time.
Team Value: 5th Overall ()
  • Team Success: 1st (--)
  • Popularity: 17th ()
  • Staff: 9th (--)
  • Stadium: 13th (--)
  • Concession: 11th (▲)
  • Merchandise: 6th (▲)
  • Ticket: 5th (▲)
Price Changes: Ok it looks like I may have struck gold. Maybe next week I'll see my numbers hold steady and not drop.
  • Food: Apparently my food is cheap again, so I will increase the Tamale prices as they seem to be under the league median.
  • Merchandise: Looks like everything here is ok.. No changes

  • Ticket Prices: Two of the areas are listed as cheap, but the Club section was listed as expensive; so I will adjust accordingly.
    • Suite Tickets: Same price, $460
    • Club Tickets: Lowered from $240 up to $235
    • Mezzanine Tickets: Same price, $120
    • Upper Level Tickets: Same price, $80
This is clearly turning into one of the more feared teams in the NFL, I need to continue this torrid run I am having and continue to dominate in games to let everyone know that this is not the same franchise from yesteryear. This is a new gung-ho dynasty that will do everything in their power to dominate games and do whatever it takes to get what they want.

First loss of the year. Was a hard pill to swallow but it was an absolute shootout until the bitter end.

The Offense was absolutely stellar today, Dane Honani was again a beast in the pocket, posting 3 TDs and 1 INTs and I finally feel that he is coming into his own. Mychal Rivera was a nice benefactor today catching 6 receptions before exiting the game with a Broken Jaw. Honani was also very good at spreading the ball around, and once again hit his usual suspects for touchdowns today (Cosby, Rivera, Sanders). Rashad Jennings was able to get 22 rushes today and a score, but only mustered 56 yards against another top rush defense.

The Defense was actually looking like it discovered its kryptonite today; a top running back and a quarterback that can actually run. Alex Smith was injured in the second half but was able to put up an astounding 13 of 14 passing for 158 yards and was able to bust out a 51 yard Read Option. Chase Daniel came into the game and actually looked very solid; hitting his new favorite Dwayne Bowe for 8 receptions in the 1 and a half quarters alone (11 receptions, 101 yards). Jamaal Charles was just a dust buster today, cleaning up every single drive the Chiefs brought within the 10 yard line - also posting a 5.6 average (74 yards) but had 3 scores.
