Dolphins Year 4 Comes Crashing Down With 23-14 Defeat At Home At The Hands Of The Bills. Massive Post Season Update Coming Tomorrow!

Unfortunately due to repeated connection issues with Twitch, game broadcasts have been suspended for now. I am upgrading to Xfinity X-1 and their highest speed and best router....so let's see if that solves the connection issues I have been getting all of a sudden.

Re: A Dolphins Tale (Madden 15 PS4) Online CFM

Sweat was dripping down QB Ryan Tannehills brow as he stepped up to the podium to face the press in his post game interview following a bitter defeat at the hands of 2016 AFC Conference champs. A team the Dolphins have been battling with for the last 2 seasons for AFC Supremacy. A team the Dolphins beat twice this season 40-23 at home early in the year and then a thrilling come from behind win up in Orchard Park 20-17. "Beating a team 3 times in the same season is a tough task in the NFL" Tannehill told reporters. "We had the home game, we did what we needed to do to have this home game". But it would not even be a close game despite what the scoreboard said. The Dolphins for the exception of a brief 7-3 1st quarter lead could never contain RB Steven Ridley. He would pound and grind his way to over 155 yards rushing and 2 TD's. The Achilles Heal of the Dolphins demise last season at Buffalo in the AFC title game (where C.J Spiller earned his FA contract by destroying the Fins run defense) would again return. After Tannehill overcame 3 huge INT's he would drive his Dolphins to a TD to cut the lead to 20-14 with a little over 3 minutes remaining. The Bills would then turn and hand the ball off to Ridley time after time after time (the Bills would total 238 total rushing yards for the game). And even though the the Dolphins knew it was coming, they could not stop it. They would eventually drive down to the Dolphins 20 and seal the game with just over a minute remaining with a FG.

"I am in the state of disbelief right now and can't feel anything" Tannehill would say as he had a massive ice pack over his right shoulder. Despite throwing 3 picks today and being sacked 5 times, Tannehill was knocked down another 5-6 times and took an outright beating. Pass protection was a sore spot as well this year for the Dolphins and is an area they will look to improve this off-season. Lamar Miller would rush for over a hundred yards and haul in 6 catches for another 60 plus yards. Miller has blossomed as a 3 down threat in his 4th year and is firmly this teams workhorse now. 2nd string RB Bishop "Hankey" Sankey is entering his final year of his contract and will need fend off 3rd year RB Dominick Miles who basically took over Sankey's role mid-season as the short yardage specialist and grinder. Sankey who in year two was dominant, lost his starting role to Miller in year 3 and never recovered. Miles who was drafted out of Auburn has really developed into a dynamic power back. It has been an incredible fall for Sankey who just 2 seasons ago (his 2nd year in the league) piled up 1400 total yards and 12 TD's. Lamar Miller has done those type's of number now the last 2 seasons (year 3 and 4).

Cameron Wake will be an unrestricted free agent as the team and his agent have broken off talks of any kind of extension for the record setting sack machine who turned 35 this season. They have now turned their full attention to SS Reshad Jones who finished the year with 103 tackles 1 sack 2 picks and 2 defensive TD's. It is widely speculated he will be franchise tagged after failing to reach an agreement on a contract extension this year. The dolphins have some big cap numbers due to come off the books next season and should be able to resign the All-Pro SS.

The remainder of the core roster will remain largely the same.

GM/HC Michael Sword had some things to say in his exit presser before he begins his scouting trips and combine trip. "We are greatly disappointed as you can all imagine. We thought this was our year. We felt this team was ready to take it all the way. But sometimes you have Sunday's like we just did and it is on all of us. From the top down. We are going to evaluate every player, every coach and do everything we can as an organization to improve even more. I have the utmost confidence in my staff and these players that we have what it takes to bring home Miami's first Super Bowl title since 1973. It is our mission statement.

Coach what about Ryan and his development? Is it where you want it to be? - Ryan had his best season yet. 4300 yards plus in passing, 31 TD's an 85 passer rating and that is something we want to improve. 63% completion percentage...something we want to improve on as well. His picks were his big negative (21) and we must cut that down. But in all fairness to Ryan...he was under extreme pressure most of the year and we will address his pass protection.

Some notable retirements from Year 4 include -

Frank Gore
Charles Woodson
Justin Smith (Injury)
Kelvin Williams
Charles Tillman

And The Seattle Seahawks after winning their 2nd straight Superbowl in defeating Buffalo (41-26) for the second straight year (Buffalo played Seattle in year 3 and lost 24-23) announced the retirement of Head Coach Pete Carroll! Carroll leaves with 3 total Super Bowl wins under his belt.

Our next update will be a robust free agency recap. Then it's on to the draft and a re-cap of your Miami Dolphins draft picks (28th overall and 2 third rounders) and a year 5 preview with position depth chart and the complete year 5 schedule.

Dolphins Release Veteran CB Brent Grimes and ROLB Ellerbee In Major Cap Saving Moves!

The Dolphins have officially released veteran CB Brent Grimes and ROLB Danell Ellerbee to free up over 16 million in cap space. The news sent shockwaves through Fin's Nation and the airwaves were lit up on local sports talk radio. GM/HC Michael Sword has a challenge to resign super star SS Reshad Jones (franchise tagged) and lost 35 year old sack master Cam Wake. 3rd year CB Shontrell Hubbard will now move to the #1 CB role and is primed and ready to shine in that role. 3rd year CB Keshawn Hester will assume the #2 role and Jamar Taylor has now been penciled into the nickel CB role. ROLB is now up for grabs and Jelani Jenkins may move back there is the Dolphins draft a new LOLB.

"We needed some cap flexibility this off-season to add some depth as well as look to resign some key players this upcoming season. We appreciate Brent's contributions these last 5 seasons and we were heart broken that we had to make this decision after we failed to restructure. Danell was a solid pro, but we felt at this point we had some younger guys ready to take that position at a much bigger savings for the team to give us ultimate cap flexibility. We wish both players much success".

The Dolphins also said goodbye to LT/RT Nate Garner, P Brandon Fields, and FS/SS Jimmy Wilson.

Miami Dolphins Year 5 Draft Re-Cap

April 2019 New York City - The Miami Dolphins made some bold cut's right before the draft. So going into this years annual exercise of adding new young blood to the mix GM/HC Michael Sword had some decisions to make from the 28th spot. Would they go LOLB? LE? CB? or shock everyone and take another WR or OL?

Without further delay let's meet your Year 5 rookie class for your Miami Dolphins.

Round 1 - Israel Randell - LOLB - 6'1' 240 LBS Texas - The Dolphins had Randell in their top 3 choices. And he fell right to them after their first two choices were snaked way ahead at 14 and 20. Randell is already being penciled in as the starting LOLB for the upcoming season, but he will have competition in veteran Phillip Wheeler (who may be on the chopping block this pre-season) and newly signed free agent Gerald Hodges (entering his 4th year). Sword feels Israel will win the job outright. He brings a great resume from Texas and a big rep as a run stuffer. Something the Dolphins said they would focus on highly. 77 OVR 83 TAK 90 SPD 91 ACC 91 PUR 84 SHD 74 PRC 90 JMP 89 AGI Israel is a highly intelligent football player and looks to be a rock on the strong side for years to come.

Round 2 - Emory Gonzalez - LE - 6'1' 257 LBS LSU - Gonzalez was up and down in the SEC. Some weeks he would be a force both against the run and as a pass rusher and some weeks he would simply disappear. It was this inconsistent play that dropped him out of the first round but into the Dolphins laps where Sword snatched the physically talented LE. He will be in the mix along with Karl Morris and form part of a 4 man rotation at LE and RE. The Dolphins have annoucned that Dion Jordan will slide to LE and Oliver Vernon will take over at RE with Morris and Gonzalez competing for serious time as well.

Round 3 - Herve Brandon - SS - 6'2' 189 LBS Lafayette - The draft experts feel the Dolphins really whiffed on this pick. Herve Brandon has a huge heart and played for a small school, but many experts feel he is outclassed in the NFL. The Dolphins are in serious talks with Reshad Jones but Todd McShay called this a "panic pick" by Sword. They think he is nothing more than a career backup at best. And with his starting measurable's the experts may be right. 62 OVR 75 MCV 69 ZCV 66 PUR 61 SHD 66 TAK 80 PWR 87 SPD 90 ACC 89 AGI

Round 4 - Keifer Watson - LE - 6'3' 251 LBS Arkansas - This was a nice pick and again the Dolphins are showing the commitment to shoring up the strong side of the defense vs the run. Watson comes in with a nice pedigree from Razorback country as a run stuffing LE. He is expected to also make some noise in training camp and the pre-season to earn his way on the team as part of a DL rotation. He is a long term project in a sense that he has a large upside to be a workhorse end and stuff the run at the point of attack. 73 OVR 73 PMV 73 FMV 73 SHD 78 TAK 82 PWR 83 SPD 87 ACC

Round 5 - Kirkland Miles - CB - 6'2' 197 LBS S.C. State - Miles is an interesting prospect. He is a prototype CB and is adept at both man and zone. He has track star speed and acceleration but is a long term project on a team filled with CB's ahead of him on the depth chart. He will be hard pressed to see the field this season if at all. 64 OVR

Round 6 - Lascelle Holmes - FB - 6'3' 264 Alabama - Holmes is here to beat out veteran incumbent Colin Moooooooney. Mooney is a fan favorite but has really fallen off the last 2 seasons since being claimed off the waiver wire in Year One. Holmes has the goods to be a hard hitting run blocker to lead the way for Lamar Miller and company. Where he needs some work is his pass catching as the Dolphins do like to sneak the FB out on some angle routes to catch defense's napping. It's make the team as a starter or be cut. The Dolphins never carry more than one FB as they will carry 3 TE's. 77 OVR

Round 7 - Amos Lumpkin - CB - 6'1' 196 LBS Fresno State - Lumpkin will be very hard pressed to make the cut and would have to dazzle the coaching staff to stick. A late 7th round flier he is not expected to make the team. 61 OVR

A Free Agency recap with key player movement along with the pre-season schedule will be forth coming as we move into Year 5 of.......

Not sure if you're still doing this or not but I'm all caught up great job turning the phins around. I seriously have no idea why you're ignoring your qb situation. Tannehill sucks and has shown it constantly. Then you constantly keep Moore on the roster. No idea why you haven't picked up a QB in FA or why you gave Tannehill another 5 years.
