Re: The New England Patriots Franchise(M25)
Bills LE Ray Edwards- $1.5M, 1 Yr Broncos RG Lance Louis- $1.56M, 1 Yr Browns DT Casey Hampton- $2.64M, 1 Yr CB Nate Clemetns- $3.8M, 1 Yr Chargers DT Richard Seymour- $4.7M, 1 Yr Cowboys QB Tim Tebow- $2.4M, 1 Yr Dolphins RE Mark Anderson- $3.2M, 1 Yr Eagles DT Sione Pouha- $3.06M, 1 Yr Falcons MLB Takeo Spikes- $3M, 1 Yr Jaguars FS Kerry Rhodes- $4.24M, 1 Yr Lions WR Braylon Edwards- $1.75M, 1 Yr Panthers ROLB Thomas Howard- $2.2M, 1 Yr Patriots QB David Carr- $1.46M, 1 Yr If Ryan Mallett is traded, I need a back up QB on our team. C David Molk- $ 490K, 1 Yr David Molk is tied with Terrance Cody as the strongest player on the team. He is a solid run blocker and, since he's only in his 2nd year, can turn into a great all around player. Consider him a developmental pick. DT Vaughn Martin- $950K, 1 Yr Another player brought in to help the DT position. Vaughn is not much weaker than Wilfork, but he is much quicker. If I can develop his Block shedding, he can be a major sack artist in the middle. LOLB Brandon Magee- $520K, 1 Yr Undrafted rookie that can potentially be a gem. He seems undersized at 224, but he's very similar to Jaime Collins. I'll keep an eye on how he fits in the team as cutting begins. K David Buehler- $680K, 1 Yr Although Gostkowski is a much better kicker and more accurate, Buehler has a stronger leg and a cheaper price. I will allow allow Buehler to develop until Gostkowki's contract ends. Instead of overpaying for a kicker, Buehler will have developed enough to take over and will be on a cheap, long term contract. P Chas Henry- , 1 Yr Same as with Gostkowski, Ryan Allen has a more accurate let. But Henry has a stronger one. The difference isn't much, so Henry will take over the starting P position unless injury prevents that. Raiders QB Vince Young- $1.7M, 1 Yr Seahawks RG Antoine Caldwell- $1.8M, 1 Yr Titans LG Stephen Peterman- $2.25M, 1 Yr Trades Browns-Patriots The Patriots have sent HB Stevan Ridley and MLB Brandon Spikes to the Browns for a 1st round pick. Winner- We vote Browns. Browns seem to be gathering some real talent. If Ridley and Spikes help the Browns to the playoffs, the Browns are the winners. Otherwise, its the Patriots. Chiefs-Packers The Chiefs have sent LE Allen Bailey to the Packers for Jarrett Boykin and a 6th round pick. Winner- We vote Chiefs. Although Allen Bailey is a very strong DE that can help disrupt, Boykin is a young receiver who is a solid WR2 as a possession receiver. At 6'2, he can definitely grab some balls in the air. Jets-Texans The Jets have sent DT Kenrick Ellis to the Texans with a 6th round pick for RG Brandon Brooks. Winner- We vote Jets. Kenrick Ellis will obviously add a strong precesnce to the Texans D-Line but Brandon Brooks is a great run blocker. He has the strength and technique to be considered among the best in the NFL at it. If he improves his pass blocking, he can be a great lineman. Ravens-Patriots The Ravens have sent DT Terrence Cody to the Patriots for SS Adrian Wilson. Winner- We vote Ravens. If Adrian Wilson helps make up for the loss of Reed and Lewis and helps the Ravens go on another deep playoff run, then the Ravens are the winners. If Terrence Cody becomes the Heir-Apparent to Wilfork, then Patriots win. Last edited by dm92; 10-31-2014 at 08:06 PM. |

Cardinals
SS Jordan Babineaux- $1.15M, 1 Yr Raiders DT Shaun Cody- $1.3M, 1 Yr Texans FS Kenny Phillips- $1.7M, 1 Yr Trades Bengals-49ers The Bengals have traded DT Domata Peko to the 49ers for a 3rd round pick and a 7th round pick. Winners- We vote the Bengals. Peko can do alot for the 49ers defense, but he isn't worth a 3rd round pick at this point. Jaguars-Titans The Jaguars have traded a 3rd round draft pick and a 7th round pickto the Titans for LE Derrick Morgan. Winner-We vote the Titans. Derrick Morgan has the ability of a player that is worth a late 3rd round pick. What makes us chose the Titans is that Morgan is a very injury prone player. He's already missed 13 games in 3 seasons. Patriots-Saints The Patriots have traded DT Isaac Sopoaga to the Saints for a 4th round draft pick and a 6th. Winners- We vote the Patriots. Sopoaga can still be a strong player in the NFL and can still contribute but he is more of a depth player now. Re: The New England Patriots Franchise(M25)
QB
Spoiler
Starter Tom Brady-6'4 , 225 A Top 3 QB in the history of the NFL, arguably number 1, Tom Brady is still among the best in the league at the tail end of his career. He has 44,806 career passing yards and 334 career TD's in his 13 year NFL career. Brady's game is centered around his still elite arm(93 THP), amazing accuracy (95 SAC/90 MAC/83 DAC), and excellent Play Action(96). Ryan Mallett-6'6, 238 The large 25 year old QB has the strongest arm in the NFL(98 THP) out of everyone not named Matt Stafford. His accuracy is fairly good as well(83 SAC/84/MAC/73 DAC). He has the raw materials to become a good starter in the league if he improves. HB
Spoiler
Starter Legarrette Blount- 6'0, 247 A deceptively fast power back, Lagarrette Blount is the best pure Running back on the team. Blount is stronger(86 STR) than some offensive lineman but faster(88 SPD) than many Linebackers. His rare combination alone makes him a strong body to take down. His carrying(90) is also elite which rounds out what makes him the starter. His downside is his inability to catch(48 CTH) the ball out of the backfield. Look to see him take the majority of snaps. 3rd Down Shane Vereen- 5'9, 205 To counter Blount's momentum fueled running and abysmal catching ability, Shane Vereen can be seen as a change of pace back. He is faster(91 SPD) than most LB's and can be a force in both the passing game and running game. This can help Brady with the play action to keep the defense on their feet. WR
Spoiler
Starter Danny Amendola- 5'11, 188 As a very light and quick WR, Amendola has been seen as the replacement to Wes Welker who was lost to the Broncos. What will define Amendola's season with the Patriots, however, is his ability to stay healthy. With the Rams, Amendola has played in roughly about 65% of the games in the past 4 years. He's not off to a good start, already on his way to miss the first 2 games. When he's on the field, however, expect his elite Route Running(95) and elite Catching(Catch 94, Catch in Traffic 91) to help the Pats move the chains. Starter Aaron Dobson- 6'3, 200 A counter to Amendola's quickness and technique, Dobson is very physically gifted. At 6'3 and possessing ample Speed(88), Dobson could be a strong threat on the outside. He has great Catch(84) already and is an end-zone threat because of his Spectacular Catch(91). If he can consistently proved a deep threat, expect him to be the go to guy down the field. The rookie could have a great year. Sub Josh Boyce- 5'11, 206 Josh Boyce is another rookie that could end up being among the best of this draft class. Boyce is very raw. Amazingly so. He's a poor Catcher(72) and a terrible Route Runner(62). Where he does excel, however, is in the physical side of things. Boyce is a fast WR(93) who is also the Strongest(70) WR on the team. Improve his technique, and Boyce could be a solid starter at his peak. Sub Tommy Streeter- 6'5, 219 If you though Boyce was impressive physically, just wait until you hear about Streeter. The reason the Patriots traded a 5th round pick for the second year pro, is because of bodies potential. He is just as fast as Boyce(93) but has the height of a TE. If he improves his poor catching ability(Catch 72, Catch In Traffic 77), he can be a mismatch in every game. Oh, and also his Route Running(57) must be fixed because its beyond terrible. May be used as a TE2 this season. TE
Spoiler
Starter Rob Gronkowski- 6'6, 265 Considered the best TE in the NFL 2 years ago, Gronk is still a top 10 in anyones book. Only thing holding him back are injuries. Scratch that. Were injuries. Gronk is back and will be a key part of this offense. He is the complete TE, having amazing Catching ability(Catch 91, Catch In Traffic 97) while still providing some of the best Run Blocking a TE can provide(81). If Gronk's injuries are behind him, he is an All-Pro talent. Offensive Line
Spoiler
Starter Nate Solder- 6'8, 319 One of the best young LT's in the NFL, Solder excels in his technique. His Pass Block(92), Run Block(95) and Impact Blocking(95) are all elite. Right now, he is already a top 5 LT, and he is only going into his 3rd year. Expect Solder to get even better this year and begin to take a leadership role on the O-Line. Starter Logan Mankins- 6'4, 310 One of the greatest Guards in the history of the Patriots Franchise. Mankins is now going into his 9th year as a starting lineman for the Pats. Although he is on the wrong side of 30, he still provides a great presence in the interior. His great technique(Pass Block 81, Run Block 93, Impact Block 89) isn't what it used to be, but his Strength(92) is still there. Expect LG Mankins to be a key component for the O-Line once again this season. Starter Ryan Wendell- 6'2, 290 Last year was Wendell's first year starting for the Patriots. He did well enough to keep his job, although it's not set in stone. He could be considered the weak link in the team so he must perform every week. He struggles with Pass Blocking(72) but has elite Impact Blocking(94) which could be used to help the team. He won't have better then a decent season, and may even be replaced at C mid season by Donald Stephenson. Starter Marcus Cannon- 6'5, 335 Getting his first shot at starting RG going into his 3rd season, there is reason to be excited about Cannon. First, his last name is Cannon. 2nd, he is a solid blocker(Pass Block 85, Run Block 85) and has great Strength(91). With this being his first chance to really play, expect his game to get better as he learns more. Starter Sebastian Vollmer-6'8, 315 Vollmer is among the best O-Lineman for the Patriots. He has elite Pass Blocking(95) and great Run Block(89) and Impact Blocking(82). He also doesn't have the same restriction to his Strength(92) that Solder has. His weakness, however, is his ability to stay on the field. He is probably the most Injury Prone(70) player on the team, which may hurt the team. Sub Donald Stephenson- 6'6, 307 Donald Stephenson is a good prospect. He is balanced in his technique with decent stats across the board(Pass Block 78, Run Block 83, Impact Block 78). His Strength(85) is also not that great. What does make Stephenson impressive is his Acceleration(87) which means his ability to get to the next lever quick enough to create space. You'll never confuse him for an All-Pro, but Stephenson is ready to start now if the chance is given, and will be ready for his whole career. DE
Spoiler
Starter Chandler Jones- 6'5, 265 Having finished his rookie year with 6 sacks as a starter, Jones is expected to be even better this season. Chandler is a great pass rusher because of his Power Moves(92) and Block Shedding(86). He is a confident Tackler(83) and has a great combination of Strength(79) and Acceleration(93). This could very well be a breakout season for Jones Starter Oliver Vernon- 6'2, 261 Another player who was a rookie last year, Vernon was considered expendable by the Dolphins because they drafted a DE third. A good pass rusher because of his solid Power Moves(87), he lacks the Block Shedding(74) that would make him a great pass rusher. He, however, is also a great physical specimen, with great Strength(82) and Speed(83). Sub Rob Ninkovich- 6'2, 255 Although a "sub",Ninkovich can be considered a super sub. He will appear as the first DE off the bench and will also contribute at LB which will give him plenty of time to see the field. Where Jones and Vernon use their physical gifts most, Ninkovich uses what he's learned. His great Pursuit(87), Play Recognition(84) and elite Tacking(95) to bring down whoever has the ball effectively. DT
Spoiler
Starter Vince Wilfork- 6'2, 325 Our own version of the immovable object. Wilfork has quietly put together an amazing career that has gone under the radar. He is amazingly Strong(96) and still has elite Intangibles(Block Shedding 97, Pursuit 91, Play Recognition 96). Wilfork can easily make an argument as a top 3 DT in the league. Starter Vaughn Martin- 6'4, 308 Where Wilfork is a source of pure power, Martin combines his own great Strength(91) with unexpected Acceleration(85). That alone makes him a tough opponent, but he also has decent intangibles (Block Shedding 81, Pursuit 79, Tackling 83) to be a great partner for Wilfork. Sub Terrence Cody- 6'4, 349 A player in the mold of Wilfork, the DT is going into his 4th year expecting to learn for Vince and giving him a rest once in a while. His Strength(97) is even better than his mentors, but he lacks some of the intangibles (Power Moves 79, Block Shedding 89, Pursuit 69, Play Recognition 71, Tackling 80) that makes Wilfork elite. Expect Cody to potentially replace Wilfork in a few years. LB
Spoiler
Starter Dont'a Hightower- 6'3, 270 Finishing his rookie year with 77 tackles and 4 sacks, there is much reason to be excited for Hightowers sophomore season. He already has elite Tackling(93), Hit Power (90) and Pursuit(89). With his Strength(84)-Speed(80) combo, expect Hightower to easily replace Spike's position with the Pats. Starter Jerod Mayo- 6'1, 245 Mayo is an All-Pro tackle, and arguably the most important player on this defense. He excels at everything but what makes him so amazing is that he is the best(or one of them) in the NFL at targeting the ball carrier and taking him down hard as effectively as possible (Tackle 93, Hit Power 91, Pursuit 97). Likely Pro bowler. Starter Jaime Collins- 6'3, 250 The only rookie to be starting on defense this season, Jaime adds something to the LB trio which is important. Where Hightower is weak when it comes to coverage, Jaime is strong in it. He is almost as good as Mayo when it comes to Coverage(Man Coverage 68, Zone Coverage 81). He is also solid in all other areas (Tackle 85, Hit Power 84, Pursuit 83) and has elite Acceleration(88) for a LB. He might end up being a Mayo Jr. CB
Spoiler
Starter Aqib Talib- 6'1, 205 Picking Talib up for a 4th round pick was a stroke of genius by Bill B. Talib is a premier corner in the league, with great Coverage(Man Coverage 90, Zone Coverage 87) and his ability to stuff a player at the LOS(Press 91). Talib can guard any WR in the NFL and be confident, and that's what will make him so important to the Pat's this season. Expect Talib to always follow the opposing top WR. Starter Chris Culliver- 6'0, 199 Culliver is a a good CB. He is great when it comes to Man-to-Man (Man Coverage 85, Press 88) but fails a bit with Zone Coverage(76). If that is addressed by the coaching staff, then expect Culliver to be a great player. The reason why is because of his elite Speed(95) and great Agility(89). This means Culliver can be placed to cover a speedster on the outside, or a quick slot receiver on the inside. Sub Alfonzo Dennard- 5'10, 205 Dennard had a good rookie year as a starting CB. The reason he is demoted isn't because of his own inability. It is because, as a whole, the defense does not possess much speed. This caused Culliver's vast amount of speed to became more important and so he is graded slightly above Dennard. Dennard has decent speed(87) but excels in the intangibles. His Coverage(Man Coverage 85, Zone Coerage 84, PRess 87) is more well rounded than Cullivers and is approaching Talib's level of coverage. Will be among the better CB3's in the league. Sub Logan Ryan- 5'11, 191 Ryan has the same fault as Dennard, lack of elite Speed(87). What he has instead, is great Zone Coverage(88) and solid Man Coverage(80). His Tackling(69) is also passable and is the best among the CB's. The best way to give Ryan playing time to nurture and put him in a position to use his abilities best is as follows. He splits time being CB4 and backs up both FS and SS. This way, he sees ample field time and can possibly switch positions if it suits him. FS/SS
Spoiler
Starter DEvin McCourty- 5'10, 193 McCourty is arguably the best FS in the NFL. He's the best Coverage(Man Coverage 91, Zone Coverage 97) FS in the NFL by far and is very quick. He was an All- Pro his rookie year and has only progressed, becoming an All Pro caliber player at FS despite being on his rookie contract still. McCourty will be the force that limits long passes down the field and will also pitch in with some interceptions. Starter Duron Harmon- 6'1, 205 Probably the worst starter on the team, Harmon does have the ability to have some success. He is, at least, better than the starter from last year, Steve Gregory. The biggest flaw in Harmon's ability as a SS is his Awareness(60). This, however, is the easiest flaw to remove as he will learn while he plays. |
