Maybe get that run game going with Murray like they did in real life last night

Re: Rebuilding the Silver & Black - A Raiders Franchise (Madden 15)

Year 1, Week 11
A tough loss at home to the Broncos last week. A team that absolutely should have blown us out of the water, we actually were beating for 80% of the game. Sucks we blew it the way we did, but it was a good game from our offense. Unfortunately, Harry Douglas went down with an injury and will miss the rest of the season due to it.

An absolute blowout.. Such a disappointment; especially going against a slacking Chargers team that is missing their leader in Philip Rivers.

The Offense was awful today coughing up 5 turnovers, including 2 Maurice Jones-Drew fumbles. He lost his starting job today because of his terrible play of the last few weeks and his recent case of fumblitis. In his place, Latavius Murray got the bulk of the work in the 2nd half, getting 56 yards on 16 carries - while he only got 3 more yards than MJD, Murray looked a lot better running the ball (plus, Murray had 2 rushes at the goalline that went nowhere, and on3rd down MJD walked into the end zone). Derek Carr once again looked like a struggling rookie, getting 189 yards with 0 scores and 2 INTs.

The Defense was absolutely shelled, once again this week. Kellen Clemens had a career day throwing for 333 yards and 2 extremely long TDs - one for 68 yards to Keenan Allen and one for 75 yards to Malcolm Floyd; both coming on Play Action passes that Clemens was able to go over the top of the covering defender on. Danny Woodhead had a beastly game on the ground, rushing for 110 yards on 20 carries and backup Ryan Mathews made the most of his 6 carries by rushing for 69 yards.

Just a terrible day overall for us, and I am very disappointed in this team right now.

Re: Rebuilding the Silver & Black - A Raiders Franchise (Madden 15)

Year 1, Week 12
That was a tough game to watch last week. After seeing Maurice Jones-Drew lose his 2nd fumble on the day, I decided to axe him and give the young guy, Latavius Murray the opportunity to play and see if maybe I have a future stud buried on the depth chart. The Defense got absolutely shelled by a backup QB last week, but I am hoping we can turn it around against the Chiefs this week.

Wow, a week after I completely discounted this team I am happy to see the absolute destruction they hosted against the division rival Chiefs. I will admit, it was a much easier task managing the defense when the Chiefs didn't have Jamaal Charles but we played a hell of a game, that I am certain we would've won regardless.

The Offense was absolutely perfect today. Derek Carr had a great bounceback game throwing for 224 yards and 3 TDs with 0 INTs. He hit his major targets today in James Jones (4 catches for 52 yards), Rod Streater (3 catches for 87 yards) and Mychal Rivera (3 catches for 48 yards) all for scores today, and Streater's was set up thanks to an amazing block from Jones who I have noticed on a few occasions lay down some amazing blocks after the other receiver makes the grab. In his first start of his career Latavius Murray had an unbelievable outing, rushing for 128 yards on 21 carries with a score; it took him a while to get going but he was able to bust off a 69 yard rush in the 3rd Quarter that went to the house, cementing his role as the starter.

The Defense was ridiculous as well. We were able to disrupt the pocket and get into the backfield for major stops (for the most part... take away that one long run and we did a great job at defending the rush today). Alex Smith had a bad day, throwing for only 160 yards and 2 INTs with 0 scores, adding 10 yards on the ground. He was sacked 5 times today, with Justin Tuck continuing his historic season bringing his season total to 19 - and he has another 4 weeks to get the remaining 3.5 sacks. Charles Woodson had a amazing day, nabbing both Alex Smith interceptions, and the other safety Usama Young was able to bust his way into the backfield after a perfect punt from Marquette King and force a Safety. After Knile Davis suffered an injury backup De'Anthony Thomas came into the game and really started slow but shined throughout the day, rumbling for 105 yards on 13 carries.

Re: Rebuilding the Silver & Black - A Raiders Franchise (Madden 15)

Year 1, Week 13
Latavius Murray had a phenomenal first start last week so I am going to keep him in the starting role and even without Harry Douglas, Derek Carr was able to throw for a phenomenal game, proving that the kid has the ability, he just needs to make the best throws possible to his receivers.

Notes
Latavius Murray definitely proved he has the skills for the NFL, this will be no different because the Rams have the worst rush defense in the league right now, so I am expecting big things from the young man.

I get Denarius Moore back this week which frees up my Return Specialist position and it certainly takes away the fear that one of my starters will get hurt at any moment (like Harry Douglas)

I really just don't get this team.. Hot and cold, completely inconsistent and we can't fight our way out of a paper bag against the worst of the NFL teams.

The Offense wasn't terrible today, just couldn't make the big plays when we needed to. Derek Carr threw for 239 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs on the day; hitting Mychal Rivera for a team-high 6 receptions for 66 yards and found Andre Holmes over the middle for a short 7 yard touchdown early in the 4th quarter. Latavius Murray did not have a great day, only achieving 52 yards on 15 carries, only was able to bust off 2 big runs on the day but ultimately couldn't get anything going against the league's worst rush defense.

The Defense today was actually pretty good but thanks to an untimely interception late in the game we lost the lead and the game. Sam Bradford had a decent day throwing for 200 yards and 2 scores, but the real star of the Rams offense today was Tre Mason who busted off 109 yards on 23 carries. Khalil Mack was a shining star today registering 2 sacks and stuffing the run on the right side.

It was an absolute domination today regardless of what the score was, the Raiders really dominated the 49ers on both sides of the ball, and thanks to some great play from Derek Carr we were able to get the win against a great team in the Bay Area Rivalry.

The Offense today was awesome. Derek Carr really shined today throwing for 246 yards and 2 scores with 0 picks. It was a great day throwing the ball after a disastrous last performance in St. Louis. His main targets were the usual suspects and it was very nice seeing Rod Streater emerge from obscurity once again and post some great numbers - 5 catches for 68 yards and 1 TD; another great performance from James Jones who led the team with 6 grabs for 49 yards - and Marcel Reece had a great catch for 26 yards for a score on a play action pass that could have turned into a bootleg run from Carr but at the last minute he let it fly to a streaking Reece who caught it and tumbled into the end zone for, what turned out to be, the game-changing play.

The Defense was a tale of two defenses. On the one hand, the Pass Defense absolutely dominated the 49ers pass attack, Colin Kaepernick couldn't get anyhting going until late, and only registered 150 yards with 2 scores and 1 INT (late into the game he was still in double-digit passing yards). Vernon Davis was the benefactor today for the 49ers, catching 8 of Kaepernick's 14 passes for a big total of 119 yards and 1 TD - Frank Gore had the other TD that went for 12 yards (he finished with 20 receiving yards). The 49ers rushing attack was the real scary thing about today, and our rush defense couldn't stop anything today. The trio of Frank Gore (19 carries for 127 yards), Marcus Lattimore (10 carries for 58 yards),and Colin Kaepernick (7 for 46) were able to absolutely tear our front seven to pieces. However, nobody was able to find the end zone on the ground, so if there is one positive, it would be that.

Re: Rebuilding the Silver & Black - A Raiders Franchise (Madden 15)

Year 1, Week 14
Another week, another opinion forms about Derek Carr; such an inconsistent QB, but an amazing job against a scary defense.. I don't understand this team, we put up a great fight against the best teams, but against the bad teams we get dominated in every facet of the game.

Performance Rankings / Standings
Team Player Performance Rankings
  • D. Carr: 3,096 Passing Yards – 19th in NFL
  • M. Jones-Drew: 725 Rushing Yards – 15th in NFL
  • R. Streater - 976 Receiving Yards - 22nd in NFL
  • N. Roach: 75 Tackles - 70th in NFL
  • J. Tuck: 21 Sacks – 1st in NFL
  • C. Woodson: 4 Interceptions – 24th in NFL
Team Performance Rankings

  • Raiders Defensive Rank: 20th - 4,491 Yards Allowed

  • Receiving: Brandon Marshall (CHI) - 1,325 Receiving Yards
League Leaders - Defensive
  • Tackles: Luke Kuelchy (CAR) - 126 Tackles
  • Sacks: Justin Tuck (OAK) - 21 Sacks

  1. Denver Broncos (9-4)
  2. Kansas City Chiefs (9-4)
  3. San Diego Chargers (8-5)
  4. Oakland Raiders (5-8)
Draft Stories & Scouting
Team Needs: QB, RB, WR, LG, RG, RT, LE, RE, MLB, CB, FS, K
Scouting Points:
724 - time to scout
  • Falling Down: A torn groin to their top MLB Jhye Dent is too much for Auburn to overcome, losing 45-27.
    • "Dent's torn groin has several scouts worried about a loss of speed when he returns. Will need huge pro day to move back up many boards." - Matt Miller
  • Coffin Corner: Jourdan Jenkins becomes an internet sensation, punting a football has never looked this fun
    • "The Jenkins video restores my faith in the internet and humanity. Looked like a snake charmer manipulating the ball. Someone draft this guy" - Skip Bayless
Players Scouted
Players Revisited:

  • Kevonne Ware - CB
    • Scouted For 2nd Time, This is where I scout the player's Development rating which, to me, is the best way to determine how a player is going to really turn out. And Mr. Ware turns out to have a STAR Development rating. Cannot wait to see him in the Silver and Black next season, and he now clearly my top dog on my draft board.
New Prospects:
  • Hosey Klein - WR - Red Zone Threat / Vertical Offense - Projected #1 Overall
    • A-Ratings: Speed, Agility, Jumping, Catching, Release
    • B-Ratings: Acceleration, Catch in Traffic, Spectacular Catch
    • C-Ratings: Route Running, Elusiveness
    • D-Ratings: Awareness
I figured I may as well scout the #1 Prospect on the board, just in case he falls to me with the Jets draft pick and I do NOT get the opportunity to draft Kevonne Ware. This behemoth is also 6'5" and just reads like Calvin Johnson 2.0.. So definitely not a slouch prospect.
  • Cale Pleasant - QB - West Coast / West Coast - Projected 7th Round #7
    • A-Ratings: none
    • B-Ratings: Throw Power, Throw Accuracy Short, Throw on the Run,
    • C-Ratings: Speed, Throw Accuracy Medium, Throw Accuracy Deep,
    • D-Ratings: Play Action
    • F-Ratings: Awareness
Not as terrible as I was expecting with the 7th Round tag, the only reason I picked him out of the litany of 7th Round QBs, he had the highest Production rating, but while that might not mean the world, it does separate him from the rest of the 7th Round pack.
  • Shane Curtis - MLB - 3-4 Tackler / Attacking 3-4 - Projected 2nd Round #9
    • A-Ratings: Tackle, Pursuit
    • B-Ratings: Speed, Block Shedding
    • C-Ratings: Play Recognition, Awareness, Zone Coverage
I ran out of Scouting Points, but this guy is actually a great prospect for the 2nd Round tag he has, and he fits into my system perfectly, and looks to be a predatory tackling machine, so he definitely will be near the top of my draft board after my 1st Round prospects.

My Big Board
  1. Kevonne Ware - CB (Star) ^
  2. Hosey Klein - WR
  3. Arione Powers - MLB
  4. Kobi Reeves - CB
  5. Justice Dickerson - RB
  6. Shane Curtis - MLB
  7. Elijiah Donnelly - RB
  8. Colby Fulton - QB
  9. Cale Pleasant - QB
  10. Chad Pittman - QB

I need to post this before playing this game. THE CHIEFS HAVE THEIR TOP 3 RUNNING BACKS INJURED RIGHT NOW!If we get run on for over 100 yards again, I will go insane. Time to boost the confidence of all of my linebackers and run blitzes and absolutely terrorize that backfield.

Justin Tuck is 1.5 sacks away from the league sack record. Hopefully it happens tonight!

A disappointing game all around. It was really sad considering that the Chiefs were without their top 3 running backs.

The Offense was pretty good today considering we got the loss. Derek Carr had a pretty inaccurate day, throwing 11 of 29 completions (37%) for only 139 yards but 2 scores and 1 INT. Rod Streater led the team with 3 catches for 46 yards. Latavius Murray carried the ball 15 times and managed to get a season-high 142 yards but failed to find the end zone. It really is a disappointment when a player does that well and we cannot pull off the win.

The Defense, on the other hand, was pretty awful although the Chiefs got pretty damn lucky a few times. Alex Smith got hurt partway into the game and missed a couple quarters but managed to throw 6 for 7 for 93 yards and 1 TD - which went to Denario Alexander for 13 yards. Backup Chase Daniel had a great day in relief, throwing 14 of 17 for 159 yards with 1 ridiculous TD and 1 INT - the touchdown went 43 yards with 1 second left in the first half on a Hail Mary that went in between 4 defenders hands right into the bread-basket of Donnie Avery. The real hero of the day for the Chiefs was De'Anthony Thomas who carried 25 times for 121 yards and a score, including the game-clinching 20 yard scamper near the end of the game.

We get Darren McFadden back this week, but it's not worth it as he will barely get any carries. I am sticking with Latavius Murray as my starting RB, but McFadden will get the #2 role and MJD will get 3rd Down duties

The news about Dez Bryant not resigning with the Cowboys is HUGE for me, because now I have a target in Free Agency for Wide Receiver and I can let go of one of the younger guys on my team who are going to want a big contract - possibly even Rod Streater because of the amazing year he is having.

This was a surprise come-from-behind victory and a happy day all around. And now, there is a new holder for the NFL Single Season Sacks Record - CONGRATS JUSTIN TUCK!

Derek Carr
had a phenomenal game today, throwing 21 of 30 completions for 248 yards, 3 scores but did throw 2 terrible INTs. Unfortunately, his #2 option in James Jones went down with a first quarter injury, but Carr still had a great day spreading the ball around to his main 3 weapons; getting all of them touchdowns as well. Mychal Rivera had his best game of the season, catching 7 balls for 107 yards, Andre Holmes caught 7 for 76 yards, and Rod Streater had the lowest total of the day only getting 6 catches for 60 yards and all of them got TDs. Latavius Murray didn't have a great showing against one of the best rushing defenses in the Bills, but he managed to get 61 yards on 17 carries and backups Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew managed to get 25 yards on 5 carries each.

The Defense was bad in the first half but managed to turn it around and really pull together in the second half. Kyle Orton started really hot, throwing 2 first half scores and another in the 3rd quarter - he ended his day with 17 of 23 completions for 163 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. Mike Williams (6 catches for 81 yards and 1 TD), Scott Chandler (4 for 26 yards and 1 TD), and Robert Woods (2 catches for 17 yards and 1 TD) were the main stars of the Bills passing attack, rookie phenom Sammy Watkins had a lone catch for 6 yards - an amazing testament to the signing of Jabari Greer who had an awesome day forcing and recovering a fumble, the latter of which sealed the victory. The problem here was that the Raiders are still extremely vulnerable to letting up HUGE amounts of yards on the ground. Fred Jackson rushed for 85 yards on 20 carries, but backup CJ Spiller managed 7 yards on just 6 carries - breaking tackles left and right and busting off really long runs.

A tough loss today, we were in the game the entire time but our defense let us down right at the end to give the Broncos the win.

The Offense was wildly impressive today, Derek Carr had his best performance of the season in the final game by throwing for an astounding 341 yards and 3 TDs with 2 INTs. Mychal Rivera had a phenomenal day catching 10 passes for 138 yards and a score, and Rod Streater was right behind him with 6 grabs for 99 yards. Latavius Murray was able to shoulder a HUGE workload in the form of 28 carries but only managed 85 yards on the day but did find the end zone 2 times.

The Defense gave up way too many plays and way too much to win this game, the offense was able to keep us in the game however. Peyton Manning had a great day throwing 18 of 27 completions for 289 yards and 3 TDs with 1 INT - which went to league leading Charles Woodson for his 8th INT of the season. Demaryius Thomas made Tarell Brown look like a fool today, burning him for 5 catches for 127 yards and 2 scores, including the game-clinching TD grab late in the 4th quarter. The real star, however, was Ronnie Hillman who busted off 155 yards on just 16 carries and 2 TDs - including a wild 73 yard rush that he was able to bust through the defensive line and blitzing linebackers and went to the house.
