Capital Pride - A Washington Redskins Franchise

Welcome to my Washington Redskins Franchise! This is my first attempt at a Madden 15 Franchise so I'm open to any comments or concerns as I'm rolling along in this franchise. I'm trying to make this story as reader-friendly as possible, so this might be an image-heavy thread. Of course, I'm a college student who is also working, so I'll try to post as many updates as possible!

Re: Capital Pride - A Washington Redskins Franchise

WASHINGTON, DC - Breaking news out of FedEx Field today, as Dan Snyder has decided to sell his team to a Redskins Legend.

Joe Gibbs, who is known as one of the greatest Redskins of all-time, has decided to buy the team along with investors to try to bring pride and an NFL Championship back to the Washington D.C. area. "I've been really getting the itch to get myself back into the NFL" says Gibbs, "I brought the idea up to investors, and we offered Mr. Snyder an offer he couldn't refuse."

The Redskins are recovering from a 3-13 season, which is the worst record the team has posted since 1994. Also being a topic of discussion is the QB situation, which has been a revolving door since Robert Griffin III was injured last season.

"Right now, we're focused on winning with Robert. " says new Head Coach Jay Gruden. "We think he has all the tools to get this team a championship, and we're behind him 100%."

The Redskins will have their Preseason opener against New England this Thursday at 7:30 PM at FedEx Field.

Looks good. It will be interesting to follow, given the struggles of the team this season and the intense drama at QB. Wonder how much success you can bring with Snyder out.

Re: Capital Pride - A Washington Redskins Franchise

Washington, DC - A new era began yesterday in Landover, as the Redskins brought home a hard fought victory over the New England Patriots.

The air was full of uncertainty as the Redskins took the field against the Patriots. People were curious to see how the new look Redskins would look under Jay Gruden's new offensive scheme. The first-string offense looked very inconsistent in the passing game, as RGIII went 0/3 on his passing attempts. However, when pressured to run, RGIII showed glimpses of his old self, and avoided taking unnecessary hits by either sliding or going out-of-bounds.

The running-game, however, looked as potent as ever with Alfred Morris clicking off 40 yards in only 7 rushing attempts. Morris hit the holes with speed and precision, which proved to be a weakness in the Patriots defense.

The first-string defense looked very solid as well, holding Tom Brady to 4/8 pass/completion ratio, with only 56 yards in the first Quarter. However, the second-team defense looked a little iffy, letting second-string Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo command the passing game with a 6/11 completion ratio, highlighted by a 72 yard bomb to Brian Tyms. Garoppolo finished with 97 passing yards.
