Patriots Report

Cowboys at Patriots Preview
@
1-0-------1-0

Gillette Stadium – Foxborough, Massachusetts
Sunday, September 13th, 2015 – 1:00PM

DEZ BRYANT AND THE COWBOYS COME TO TOWN LOOKING TO GET TO 2-0

This week the Patriots will host the Dallas Cowboys in a 1:00 game at Gillette. The Cowboys defeated the Jets 21-10 in Dallas last week.

Players to Watch
Dallas lost HB DeMarco Murray to the Cardinals via free agency and have replaced him with rookie Vintize Rosemond out of Florida State. The Cowboys are led by QB Tony Romo and superstar WR Dez Bryant on offense. Romo also has TE Jason Witten and WR Michael Crabtree to rely on. The Dallas offensive line is a good one led by LT Tyron Smith. On defense Safety Barry Church is the leader. With MLB Sean Lee out the Cowboys will have to rely on LB Brandon Marshall to make key tackles in the running game.

Tale of the Tape
DAL –Stat - NE
Offense
293 - Tot – 324
227 - Pass – 236
66 - Rush – 88
21.0 - Points – 24.0
Defense
392 - Tot – 151
297 - Pass – 32
97 - Rush – 119
10 - Points – 3

Injury Report
DAL – RG Lance Louis, LE William Hayes, MLB Sean Lee
NE - None

Outlook
Dallas leans heavily on their passing game with Murray out of the picture. The Patriots will have to put pressure on Romo and not allow him to sit in the pocket and find open receivers.

New England will have to try to contain Dez Bryant and stop him from making big plays.

Dallas’ defensive front seven is banged up and the Patriots need to take advantage of that by running the ball. If they are able to that will help them in the passing game.

Game Prediction
Whichever quarterback plays better should win this one. It should be a close game that comes down to a few big plays.

GOSTKOWSKI HITS THE GAME WINNER AS TIME EXPIRES

1st2nd3rd4thFinal
Dallas Cowboys [1-0]0314017
New England Patriots [1-0]3100619

Pats struggle, top Cowboys

Tom Brady threw four interceptions. Let me repeat that. Tom Brady threw four interceptions earlier today as the Patriots played host to the Cowboys.

Brady’s fourth pick of the day went to Dallas corner Antoine Cason, who returned it 67 yards for a score to put the Cowboys on top 17-13. Gostkowski kicked a 26yard field goal early in the fourth to make it 17-16 Dallas.

With just over a minute left to play Brady and the Pats offense got the ball back at their own 20. On third and ten Brady connected with LaFell for 15 yards and a first down at the Dallas 39. After an incompletion Brady found rookie Treyvon Ford for 14 yards to the Dallas 25. From there it was 3 Ridley runs up the middle and a game-winning 26 yard field goal by Gostkowski.

“Pretty upset with myself really. I let the team down today. Luckily the defense bailed us out and Stephen was able to win the game for us.” Tom Brady replied when asked about his performance in the game.

Brady hasn’t thrown four interceptions in a game since September 25th, 2011 in a loss to the Bills.

New England found some early success running the ball but seemed to go away from it in the second half.

Dallas’ offensive line was as advertised, holding the Patriots to just 2 sacks and keeping Romo upright and clean for the majority of the game.

New England will play host to Peyton Manning and the Broncos next week on Sunday Night Football.

Patriots Report

Broncos at Patriots Preview
@
1-1-------2-0

Gillette Stadium – Foxborough, Massachusetts
Sunday, September 20th, 2015 – 8:20PM

PEYTON MANNING ONCE AGAIN COMES TO TOWN

This week the Patriots will battle the Broncos and Peyton manning on Sunday Night Football on NBC. The Broncos are 1-1 and come in off a 30-6 beatdown of the Chiefs.

Players to Watch
For Denver it’s all about Peyton Manning. He’ll be looking to hook up with WR Demaryius Thomas and TE Julius Thomas. Absent is WR Wes Welker, who has joined the Vikings. WR Emmanuel Sanders gives the Broncos a deep threat in the passing game. HBs C.J. Anderson and Montee Ball give the Broncos a solid 1-2 punch in the backfield. Denver’s defense is led by OLB Von Miller, CB Chris Harris Jr and DE Demarcus Ware.

Tale of the Tape
DEN –Stat - NE
Offense
786 - Tot – 795
618 - Pass – 630
168 - Rush – 165
30.0 - Points – 21.5
Defense
629 - Tot – 397
433 - Pass – 207
196 - Rush – 190
41 - Points – 20

Injury Report
DEN – LE Derek Wolfe, DT Andre Fluellen
NE - None

Outlook
New England could have trouble with Denver’s pass rush. If Tom Brady plays as poorly as he did last week the Pats will be in trouble. New England should really look to run the ball this week as the Broncos have had some trouble stopping it.

The Patriots will have to work hard to slow down the passing attack of the Broncos. Manning is still one of the best QBs in the league and he has plenty of weapons.

Game Prediction
Denver might have too much firepower on offense and the Pats might not be able to keep Brady upright against their ferocious pass rush. Look for Denver to win a close one.
