Coach Rhodes Presser
by-Bryce Alexander, Cyclone Beat Reporter

Ames, IA-When asked about the QB situation, ISU Coach Paul Rhodes said "Richardson is our starter and will play the entire game." Coach Rhodes liked what he saw in the accuracy and the general game management shown by Richardson. As for the RB battle, "We are gonna continue to use all three in positions where they can best excel with there skill sets." When pressed about the upcoming Iowa game, a team ISU has beaten two of the last three years, "We're preparing for a hard hitting, smashmouth Iowa team. I think we can beat them if we play like we did last week." Iowa travels to Iowa State in Week 3 and can be seen locally on ESPNU.

Cyclones Ripoff Late Scores to Win Cy-Hawk
by-Bryce Alexander, Cyclone Beat Reporter

Ames, IA-The Hawkeyes and The Cyclones played a sloppy game in monsoon like conditions saturday afternoon, a place where the Cyclones eventually found there footing. The game kicked off on the second play from scrimmage when Devondrick Nealy, who had a 103 yds on the day, broke off a 66 YD TD to give ISU a 7-0 lead, the scoring continued with 1:58 left in the first when K/P Cole Netten hit a 42 YD FG, his first of the year, to make it 10-0 ISU. Iowa got on the bored next With a 26 yd pass from Rudock to Powell 10-7 ISU with 0:11 seconds left in the first. The next ISU drive was bogged down due to drop passes, the Cyclones dropped a total of 5 passes all game and at one point QB Sam B. Richardson was 1-10 passing. Iowa would continue to score when Koehn hit a FG in the second to tie the game up at 10. After another poor drive by the Cyclones, the Hawkeyes took advantage and scored a TD when Weisman ran it in from the 1 to make it 17-10. ISU added a FG from Netten as it went to half to make the score, 17-13. Coming outta the half the third quarter was full of bad drives for both teams and there was not any scoring. The fourth started out the same until an interception by SS TJ Mutcherson, his second of the day, opened the flood gates as ISU would score the next 21 points in just under 4 minutes with Richardson hitting Bundrage for a 14 YD TD, Anton Wimberly running it in from 25 YDs, and Rob Standard getting in from 13 YDs out. Standard has two carries this year and both are for TDs. The final score was ISU 34 Iowa 17. Coach Rhodes after the game was resigned to the fact that the conditions maybe played a part in the drops, "We dropped alot of wide open passes, we could've had this game over at the half. We have to make these play, we have to make plays when our gameplan works to get us open."

Player of the Game: D. White :11 Tackles, 4 TFL, 2 Sacks, FF

Notable Player Stats
QB Sam Richardson: 10/22 125 yds 1 TD
HB Anton Wimberly: 15/116 yds 1 Td; 3 Rec 20 yds
HB D. Nealy: 7/103 yds TD
HB Rob Stanley: 1/13 yds TD
WR Quenton Bundrage 1 Catch for 14 yds and a TD
WR Allen Lazard 1 catch for 25 yrds

Next Game Prediction: At Tulsa; This should be a Warmup for the big 12 season, not as bad as the UNH game but still a easy win for the Cyclones, 31-3.

Don't forget to submit your questions for Coach Rhodes weekly press conference.

Coach Rhodes Prepared for Tulsa
by-Bryce Alexander, Cyclone Beat Reporter

Ames, IA- Coach Paul Rhodes is not taking Tulsa lightly, as he brought up during his press conference. When asked about next weeks game versus #12 Texas (4-0), he said "We are prepared for Tulsa, they have a great pass defense this season and are ranked 2nd in the nation defending the pass." The Question then turned the health of Luke Knott, the teams leading tackler, "He is healing, he did not require surgery, so we hope he will be able to play again this season. He is a huge part of our defense. We think Alton Meeks will be able to fill in great while he's out." Coach Rhodes also scolded me for printing the wrong name for RB AARON Wimberly, I apologize to Aaron for the mistake.

ISU Player Suspend for Texas Matchup
by-Bryce Alexander, Cyclone Beat Reporter

Ames, IA- Backup QB Grant Rohach will miss the cyclones upcoming game vs Texas due to a violation of team rules. When asked about what Rohach had done, Head Coach Paul Rhodes said "we don't publicize team rules violation, Grant had an issue and we've addressed it. Grant will be better for this and he accepted his punishment like a man." A team source told Cy News that Rohach missed Monday's QB position meeting, but was back at practice Tuesday.

Re: MY First Dynasty Report

This is going along quite well. A couple small suggestions:

add a box score

seperate the game writeups into a few paragraphs

space the text away from the photo

Richardson also had a rushing TD and 48 yds. Freshman Allen Lazard showed why he was starting as a true freshman hauling in 5 catches for 80 yds and 2 TDs. Quenton Bundrage was the leading yardage receiver with 3 cathes for 82 yds. The Defensive side of the ball was dominant only giving up 207 yds of total offense and forcing a fumble. The leading tackler was LB Jevohn Miller with 6 and LB Luke Knott had 5 tackles and a sack, while DT Terry Ayeni forced and recoverd the fumble from the Panthers RB. Freshman K/P Colin Dowing kicked his first career field goal from 46yds late in the 4th quarter. Next up for the Cyclones is a week off before playing Iowa in The Battle for the Cy-Hawk trophy.
