National Championship Set as Oregon Dominates BC in ROSE BOWL

Boston College never stood a chance in this game. The Duck's and Mariota put a choke hold on this game in the first quarter as Oregon opened up a can by putting 21 points on the scoreboard.

The second quarter was much of the same as Mariota led the Ducks to 13 more points. Boston College was able to gain a little bit of confidence as they headed into the locker room by putting a Touchdown drive together as time expired.

Coming out of the half, Boston College was able to make some defensive adjustments, but the Offense continued to struggle. In the second half the Eagles only allowed 14 more points, but with Murphy's ineffectiveness behind center the deficit could not be overcome.

After the game Mariota said this to our Samantha Ponder,
Quote:
We have Tech coming up next, so we can only enjoy this for the next 24 hours, then it's back to work.

Fowler: And now what everyone has been waiting for......Time for everybody's pick. High Octane Offenses and Athletic Defenses. Something has got to give. Desmond we'll start with you.

Howard: I think Webb and Washington will be able to clip the wings off Oregon's offense. Tech wins in a high scoring shootout 45-35.

Herbstreit: As you said Kevin, both teams have really high scoring offenses, but the defenses are what will be the difference in this game. Texas Tech's inability to stop the Inside and Outside Zone reads of Oregon will lead the Duck's over the Red Raiders in a shootout. Give me Oregon 56-42.

Corso: Oregon are the Duck's and the Red Raiders have guns right? Look at those guns, surely they could hit a Duck with them right? Yeah, right! Give me that Duck Head! Go Oregon!

OREGON COMPLETES DREAM SEASON

The National Championship lived up to its billing as a shootout of the top offenses in the nation. Both teams combined for 89 points and over 1000 yards of total offense. Oregon's Defense was able to stop the Red Raiders just enough in the third quarter to get Mariota a lead he was able to hold onto the rest of the game. Oregon is your 2012 National Champion. Mariota is the MVP of the National Championship.

Yeah Webb had some really loose throws that sailed over open guys and Oregon was right there just about every time.

That sounds like something Davis Webb would do.
