Game Notes
Oct 4 - This is the last game before the Titans get to travel back to Nashville and they hope to build on a good win over the Colts last week. So far every single game has come down to one score, the Titans will be hoping to build a little more separation in this game.

The Jaguars come into this off a tough loss to the Texans and in danger of being stuck at the bottom of the division again. They will be desperate to win this to avoid going 0-3-0 at home to start the year and that pressure rests on the shoulders of Blake Bortles, who has played well this year.

Titans Rocked As Wright Wants Out

The Tennessee Titans were shocked this week when Kendall Wright, angry at his lack of production on the season so far, stormed into GM Ruston Webster's office and demanded a trade. Wright's main issue is the lack of touches that he was getting as the team's primary receiver after drafting rookie quarterback Dwight Kenny who has favored throwing to bigger targets in fullback Benjamin Fuller and tight end Rob Housler. Wright's anger overflowed to the media where he made a number of inflammatory remarks, even going so far as to say that he would bench himself if he wasn't traded.

Wright may have cause for concern here as he has only caught 3 passes for 35 yards in 3 games so far this season whereas main targets Fuller and Housler have 26 and 14 catches respectively. Wright was drafted 20th overall in 2012 as an explosive playmaker capable of breaking away from coverage and he has sometimes failed to live up to that billing. His best year was 2013, where he caught 94 balls for 1,079 yards. His production dipped last season, back to the level of his rookie year, as he struggled to reach 700 yards and only managed 1 touchdown reception.

Head coach Robert Stock said that the lack of production was down to an offense getting used to a new system and a rookie quarterback still adjusting to the speed of the game but that is not likely to calm Wright's worries with his contract running out at the end of the year. The last thing that a player wants when he is on a contract year is to be part of an offensive system that doesn't play to his strengths. It looks like Wright could be leaving the building soon enough.

Wright Traded To Vikings

Today the Tennessee Titans announced that they had sent Kendall Wright and a 7th round pick to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for the Vikings' 2nd round pick in this year's draft. This move sees the Titans further stockpiling an arsenal of high draft picks now holding two picks in each of the first 4 rounds. Kendall Wright was unhappy at Tennessee with a system that saw him only targeted a handful of times in the first few games of the season. The Vikings will add Wright to a burgeoning receiving corps already featuring Cordarrelle Patterson and Danny Amendola.

To fill his boots the Titans have announced that they will move Justin Hunter up to the first wide receiver position and move Da'Rick Rodgers from the slot to the secondary place. The team also signed former Olympian Marquise Goodwin to bolster the receiving group, the speedy receiver and return specialist will likely battle with Dexter McCluster for special teams duties and time in the slot. Titans' head coach Robert Stock said in his press conference that character was a "critical issue" for the team and Goodwin fit both the Titans' expectation of character and their system, adding "speed like that is an instant threat to any opponent and they have to account for it".

Great trade. Someone who hasn't really factored into your offense for a 2nd? Awesome.

Loving this so far.

Solid win over a very good Colts team. A win over Jacksonville and you should be sitting pretty in the divisional standings.

Interesting move to trade Wright but he really wasn't doing much for you and a second round pick is great value for him.
