Raiders Drop Tough One in OT, Lose Washington for 2 Weeks!

The Red Raiders hosted the Kansas State Wildcats (7-1) on Saturday. A win for the Wildcats would've put them in the heat of the Big 12 championship race going into the final 3 week of the season.

Both offenses struggled in the first quarter, with the only points coming on a Clayton Hatfield 40 Yd FG. The second quarter produced more offense, with DeAndre Washington scoring twice to give the Red Raiders a 17-7 lead going into the break.

Mahomes makes a throw in the 1st.

The Red Raiders came out for the second half thinking about upset and it showed as the defense help he Wildcats to a FG on the opening possession and then some fantastic blocking sprung Washington for an 82 Yd TD to make it 24-10 and after a Wildcat TD at the end of the quarter, 24-17 going into the final quarter. With a chance to put the dagger in K-State, Washington went down for the game with a concussion. Without their best back, the drive stalled and they gave the ball back to KSU who made them pay when QB Joe Hubener tied the game on a TD run. Both teams would add a TD and after Hatfield missed a GW FG as time expired, the game headed to OT.

Washington runs for a TD.

Luck ran out for the Red Raiders, Mahomes was picked off on the first play of OT and set up a GW FG for the Wildcats. They hit it, they survived. After the game, Coach Kingbury was asked about the condition of his star HB. He replied with this.

just caught up on this, i love the update style, much easier on the eyes!

Tough OT loss btw. I've definitely thrown a pick on the first possession of OT and man does that sting.
