Tales From Jordan-Hare ~ An Auburn Tigers Dynasty

Hello everybody and welcome to my new Auburn Tigers Dynasty. First of all I would like to thank RoundingThird and Cheese2121 for helping me start this dynasty. The Auburn Tigers are my favourite team and I would love to see them develop into an annual force nationally. Here I am to do that. I have dimmed the 2013 season and will have a recap post next. Auburn did alright on the year, finishing 8-5 with a Music City Bowl Title. Overall a good year for the Tigers but, next year they will hopefully come out better than ever led by Nick Marshall. So, without further ado I present "Tales from Jordan-Hare."

Game Notes
#19 Auburn vs Arkansas State
Last Meeting:
Auburn 37- Arkansas State 24

Auburn's Keys to Success
1. Get the Ground Game Going Early.

Arkansas State won't be able to run with Auburn, look for them to use this as an advantage by exploiting the ground game early.

2. Stop Arkansas State's Offense from doing much of anything.

Arkansas State's biggest threat on offence is their running back. Auburn's biggest threat on defence is their line. If they can stop the running game, it'll be an easy "W".

3. Play Loose

If Auburn starts over thinking, they will be in for a contest against the Wolves. If they play loose, don't try to force this that aren't there, this will be a mighty fine way to begin this season and this series.

Re: Tales From Jordan-Hare ~ An Auburn Tigers Dynasty

Auburn Stops Playing, Nearly Costs Them

Tre Mason after a Back Juke

Well, that was close. Auburn squeaked out with only a 3 point victory over the Arkansas Red Wolves.

It was an offensive battle for all of the game, 85 points being the proof. Arkansas State opened the scoring on their first drive with a Tyler James field goal. Auburn answered quickly, only using 142 seconds to respond with a Quan Bray touchdown on a 4 yard slant.

After the Auburn defence forced a three and out, Nick Marshall scored on an option from 1 yard out to give the Tigers a 11 point lead. Arkansas State would respond however, with a 29 yard reception by Derek Keaton after he split the safety and cornerback. With the score now being 14-10 in favour of Auburn, they added 7 on a 6 yard scamper by Tre Mason. All it took for Arkansas to get those 7 back was 12 seconds after a 96 yard return by Derek Keaton. With time winding down, Cameron Artis-Payne bobbled the ensuing kickoff resulting in Auburn starting at the 3. After a 19 yard run by Nick Marhall, he made his only mistake on the day, throwing an interception at the 30 to James Bradberry. Arkansas State would capitalize, throwing a last second Hail Mary touchdown to J.D. McKissic.

Auburn began the second half with a Marshall touchdown run, then added a Mason (with a failed two point conversion) to make the score 34-27 entering the fourth.

Auburn capped off their momentum swing in the second half with a Adam Taylor field goal. The Red Wolves would add a Frankie jackson 63 yard catch and run on a halfback screen to draw within 3. However, Artis-Payne would make up for his bobbled kickoff in the second, taking the ensuing kick 98 yards to set the NCAA record for longest kick return. J.D. McKissic would add another touchdown but it would serve pointless as Auburn knocked off Arkansas State 44-41.

Thanks, after playing the first game, I really found I enjoy playing with my favourite team more than rebuilding with a grind. Thanks for the advice and hopefully I can keep this going for a while.

I'm enjoying so far, granted I'm only a game in... Thanks for the follow, let's hope I can bring that National Championship to Jordan-Hare soon.
