Re: Restoring the Star || Driveshaft's Dallas Cowboys

Cole Beasley headlines the small list of players that were able to reach an agreement with the Dallas Cowboys. Beasley put up his best numbers since entering the league in 2012, recording 611 yards with 8 touchdowns. The Cowboys' love Beasley's size and speed as a slot receiver; the young wide receiver signed a 4 year deal, worth $5.2 million.

Linebacker Justin Durant, and punter Chris Jones were the other two players to reach an agreement with the team. Durant, described by DC Rod Marinelli as "the league's best kept secret". Durant, who just played his 8th season, put up some of his best work yet in the NFL. Despite health issues, Durant was signed to a 4 year deal as well, worth $10.5 million. The young punter with the powerful leg signed a 2 year deal, good for $1.2 million.

Cowboys' Free Agency News

It's been a fairly quiet off-season for the Dallas Cowboys so far, the team only signed two players off of free agency. The biggest signing was the former Saints running back, Mark Ingram, who signed a 5 year deal worth $7.05 million. The Cowboys also signed former Patriots fullback, James Develin to a 2 year deal worth $1.48 million.

NFL Free Agency News

DeMarco Murray and Nate Solder topped the free agency headlines signing with their new teams. Carson Palmer's signing with the Browns makes the QB situation in Cleveland even more interesting. Ahmad Bradshaw inked a deal with his former team, the New York Giants, and Frank Gore ended his 10-year tenure with the 49ers, and will now be heading to Atlanta.

Re: Restoring the Star || Driveshaft's Dallas Cowboys

Just got caught up on this. Really like the Ingram signing and think he could do well for you in the Dallas system. Interesting to see Palmer in Cleveland. Looking forward to the draft.

Cowboys' Draft Recap

Despite losing DeMarco Murray, the Cowboys didn't go after a running back in the first round. Instead, the Cowboys added even more depth to an already bulked up O-Line, by drafting offensive tackle Hussam Asante from Penn State. A lot of the draft was focused on added to holes in the defense, but the Cowboys did end up taking a running back in the third round.

R1P31: OT Hussam Asante, Penn State (75 OVR)
R2P31: ILB Perry Frederick, Southern Arkansas (64 OVR)
R3P31: HB Cassidy Reynolds, Tulsa (84 OVR)
R4P31: CB Tyron Tyson, North Dakota (75 OVR)
R5P31: WR Jamar Ferguson, Rhode Island (66 OVR)
R5P32: OLB Patric Avery, Ga. Southern (68 OVR)
R6P31: OLB Brayden Ogletree, Penn (71 OVR)
R7P31: DE Orleans Ray, Arkansas (75 OVR)

Reynolds looks like he could be a real steal in the third round!
