Preseason Week 4 - Recap

The Cardinals came off strong despite an early interception by the newly acquired receiver, Ryan Mallett, but Dustin Vaughan and the Cowboys were able to rally back in the 4th quarter with a late touchdown pass to rookie wide receiver Jamar Ferguson.

After the win at home, the Cowboys finish off the preseason with a 3-1 record, heading into the regular season with a game against the San Fransisco 49ers in Dallas.

Nice win to wrap up the preseason. Sucks to lose Murray though. Trust me I feel you on the injuries.

Ingram named starter for week one

Announced earlier today by the team, Jason Garrett has decided to name Mark Ingram as the team's starting running back for week one, despite the huge preseason by rookie Cassidy Reynolds.

"We like what both players bring to the table," Jason Garrett said, "both backs compliment each other so well." The Cowboys ultimately decided to name Ingram as the starter due to his experience, his ability to block, and his skill in the rushing and passing game. Reynolds has a lot of speed and explosiveness, and ability to make big plays.

Cowboys win a defensive standout against San Fran
9/13/15 - Arlington, TX

Cole Beasley runs in for the first Cowboys' touchdown of 2015

Tony Romo put together one of his most perfect games in a very defensive win over the San Francisco 49ers. Romo only threw one incompletion all game, ending with a massive 143.2 QBR. Cowboys were first on the board towards the end of the first quarter with a touchdown pass to Cole Beasley -- who caught two other passes on that drive.

It wasn't all good for Cowboys' offense though, Mark Ingram struggled to get anything going at all against the 49ers' defense. Being tackled numerous times in the backfield negated at this total yardage, ending the game with only 10 yards on 11 carries, averaging an abysmal 0.9 YPC.

Stevie Johnson breaks through rookie Tyron Tyson to tie the game up in the second quarter!

Steven Jackson and Colin Kaepernick didn't fare any better against the Cowboys' D-Line, Jackson ended with 36 yards on the day while the Cowboys' linebackers were able to hold Kaepernick to just 22 yards on the ground.

Rookie Cassidy Reynolds was the leading running back of the day, with a few nice carries that helped the Cowboys get first downs.

Barry Church was the star on defense that evening for the Cowboys, tallying up 8 tackles total, 1 forced fumble, and 1 costly interception for Kaep. Morris Claiborne had a nice day as well, deflecting three passes, and sacking Kaepernick once.

Navorro Bowman was a nightmare all day for Ingram and Romo, totaling over 10 tackles. The Cowboys O-Line held well under pressure, only allowing two sacks all day.

The only second half scores were a field goal by Dan Bailey in the third quarter, and a field goal by Mike Nugent in the fourth quarter. After the field goal by Nugent, the 49ers were able to get the ball back, but unable to get the touchdown they needed to send the game to overtime. The Cowboys got the ball back deep in their own territory after Kaepernick failed to convert a 4th down, and then Cassidy Reynolds was able to pick up a first down to end the game.

Re: Restoring the Star || Driveshaft's Dallas Cowboys

Big win to start the season against a very good 49ers team. I like the layout you are using and you know I love the in-game pictures!
