Thank you my friend! Definitely a big win for us and one we definitely needed. I will be honest, I am more than a little worried about achieving bowl eligibility. Our schedule is brutal here at the end. Miami and Northern Illinois are both powerhouse teams in the MAC. We close the season against Kent State who is having a down year but handed us a loss last season.
Surgery went great! I should have clarified, I was the surgeon not the patient haha. But discharged my patient last week and everything went smoothly. I have another surgery this week but I am only assisting and not primary surgeon again. Thank you for the well wishes!

Looking good Cheese! I figured since you were helpful enough on my new dynasty report that I should comment on yours. I really like how you get everything to scroll, amazing what can be done with HTML code. I am all caught up on this report. I may try to play NCAA '12 again at some point too. Yours is one of the many dynasty reports I have read and certainly one of the best.

Thank you for the very kind words and checking in my friend. I am slowly learning my way around HTML and am really having a lot of fun with it. I am excited to see your own work continue to take off. I hope you continue to follow along and enjoy!

Singin' in the Rain: Eastern Michigan Downs Miami 31-17 in Primetime Showdown
Eagles pick up sixth win, bowl eligible for the second year in a row | Freshman WR Vaughn hauls in two more scores | Freshman halfback Thomas goes down with bruised knee.
AP Oxford – The Miami Redhawks have a monkey on their back and it is called Eastern Michigan. In a rematch of last season's MAC championship game the two teams squared off in a matchup that Miami was double digit favorites to win, and for the second year in a row the Eagles would pull the upset. Eastern Michigan's defense would turn over Miami QB Zac Dysert four times (2 INT, 2 FF) to help the Eagles pick up their sixth win of the season. For the second week in a row, freshman sensation WR Nick Vaughn took home player of the game accolades for a 114 yard, two touchdown performance. Vaughn was recently named as a semi finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, which is awarded annually at the end of the season to the nations top wide receiver. Vaughn is currently fourth on the watchlist.
Feshman halfback Robert Thomas missed the majority of the game with a bruised knee. He is not expected to miss any additional time.
Eastern Michigan dominated nearly the entire first half led by dominating defensive play and the big plays of Vaughn. It was not until the final minute that Miami HB Tyler Franks was able to spark the Redhawks with a 91 yard touchdown run to pull the team within just a single score. However, a one yard plunge by reserve HB Bronson Hill coupled with a pick six by CB Ja'Ron Gillepsie would extinguish any hopes of a Miami comeback in the second half.
Aside from the 91 yard touchdown run debacle in the first half, the Eastern Michigan defense had a dominant performance forcing four turnovers and racking up three quarterback take downs. DT Tremayne Smith had two sacks and a force fumble in the win.
"We are really pleased to become bowl eligible, but also know that the work is far from over this season." -- Eagles Head Coach Dan Clayton
Eastern Michigan (6-4) will have a bye week before preparing to defend their home turf against Northern Illinois (5-3). The two teams met last season in a play-in game for the MAC West title and a bid to the conference championship game. The Eagles scored a go ahead touchdown in the final 20 seconds of regulation to win in dramatic fasion, 28-24. Northern Illinois is led on offense by senior HB Jamal Womble (900 yds, 9 TDs) and senior WR Martel Moore (853 yds, 7 TDs). Kickoff is schedule for 1PM est.

Re: A Rising Storm in the North | Cheese's Eastern Michigan Dynasty
Who does Western Michigan play in their last four games? Any chance they could lose two and you could sneak back in to the MAC title game?
Nice to see the guys you recruited having a major impact in a road win - obviously Vaughn is having a huge year but nice to know Smith is pushing the the pocket for you this early!

Thanks for checking in and following along as always my friend. Western Michigan plays Temple (2-6), Ball State (2-6), Toledo (5-3) and Buffalo (0-8) in their last four. Unfortunately, I think it is a long shot for them to drop two of those but it would be Temple and Toledo to do it if it were to happen. As for us we have to play Northern Illinois (a team we barely beat last season) and Kent State (a team we lost two). Both of them have winning records. Our hopes of sneaking back into the MAC title game seem to be on the edge of the knife but all we can do is take each game as it comes. We have a bye week now and will get to see how the WMU versus Temple game plays out.
I have been just thrilled with our three fantastic freshmen (Thomas, Vaughn and Smith). Smith was a recruit I was floored was not ranked higher. As a three star athlete I think he flew under a lot of people's radar and we were really able to put the full court press on him. Needless to say he is the anchor of our front seven now. He is someone who will be a cornerstone of this team for years to come.
