Re: Back To Square One - CaziusCray's Tennessee Titans (Madden 16)

MARIOTA RETURNS, HAS RECORD-SETTING DAY AS TITANS ROUT RAIDERS

Titans 59, Raiders 7

Summary: In a game that was basically over before it even really got started, Marcus Mariota made his return, throwing for 267 yards and five touchdown passes on 20-of-26 passing as the Titans got their first real blowout of the season, a 59-7 pounding of the Raiders.

With his five touchdown performance, Mariota has set the NFL record for TD passes in a season for a rookie (30).

Dexter McCluster played a huge role in this game, rushing for 136 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries, as well as catching two touchdown passes as well.

Kendall Wright also had a huge game, catching 6 passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns.

Jason McCourty had by far his best game of the season. He only allowed one catch, and had two interceptions, one he returned for a touchdown.

The Raiders never stood a chance. Matt McGloin just could never find a rhythm, and he finshed the game going 12-of-23 for 177 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions.

Amari Cooper had one catch on the day. It was a 15-yard gain on the second drive of the game for the Raiders.

After that, he never got another opportunity.

On the flip side, Michael Crabtree had both of his catches in the fourth quarter on the lone touchdown drive for the Raiders. He finished with 21 yards and the lone touchdown for the Raiders on those two catches.

It Was Over When: From start to finish, the Titans had the Raiders on complete lockdown.

Player(s) of the Game: Marcus Mariota (20/26, 267 Yards, 5 TD)
Dexter McCluster (23 Carries, 136 Yards, 2 TDs, 2 Receiving TDs)
Jason McCourty (3 Tackles, 2 INT, 1 TD)

Re: Back To Square One - CaziusCray's Tennessee Titans (Madden 16)

WEEK 13: TITANS @ JAGUARS PREVIEW

The Skinny

The Jaguars pulled off a last-second victory against the Titans at home just two weeks ago. This time, in Nashville, the Titans look for retribution, while the Jaguars are fighting to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

Jacksonville will be eliminated with a loss and wins by both New England and Buffalo, who both own head-to-head victories over the Jaguars already this season.

When The Titans Have The Ball

Marcus Mariota didn't get to play in the last meeting between these two teams. He threw five touchdown passes against the Raiders last week, the same amount of interceptions Christian Ponder threw against the Jaguars just two weeks ago.

Outside of those interceptions, Ponder really had very little issue finding his receivers against this Jaguars secondary. Kendall Wright likely will be the main target once again.

A big key to this game will be establishing the running game. Dexter McCluster bounced back from a sub-par game with a huge performance against the Raiders where he scored four touchdowns.

Matchup To Watch: Titans C Brian de la Puente vs Jaguars DT Sen'Derrick Marks

The Titans defense has only allowed two sacks in the past three games, including a sack-less game last week.

De La Puente was able to keep Marks in check the last meeting. We'll see if he can do it again this time around.

When The Jaguars Have The Ball

Blake Bortles had a poor outing in the last meeting, but was able to do just enough to lead his team to a game-winning drive. This Titans secondary had four interceptions this past week, and should play with a chip on their shoulder.

Denard Robinson had a career day the last time these two teams met, rushing for 155 yards and two touchdowns. This past week, the Titans only allowed Roy Helu Jr. 28 yards on 12 carries, so we'll see if they can do a better job of bottling up this Jaguars rushing attack.

Matchup To Watch: Jaguars T Luke Joeckel vs Titans OLB Brian Orakpo

Like De La Puente, Joeckel did a great job protecting his quarterback in the last meeting. Orakpo looks to turn it around this time.

Final Score Prediction: Titans 45, Jaguars 14

This Titans team is angry. They feel like they let the Jaguars game slip between their fingers. This time around, they should win this one with ease, as they won't take them lightly.

TITANS HOLD OFF LATE RALLY, EDGE JAGUARS

Titans 35, Jaguars 28

Summary: Marcus Mariota had another big game, setting a new career high in passing yards, and the Titans held off a Jaguars comeback, winning the game 35-28.

Mariota threw for 432 yards, just one yard away from tying Andrew Luck's single-game record for passing yards by a rookie. He also threw four touchdown passes to just one interception to lead the Titans.

Julius Thomas had a great game for the Jaguars, catching eight passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns.

It Was Over When: A fourth down pass from Blake Bortles to Allen Robinson was tipped away by Wesley Woodyard, with 1:31 remaining, and the Titans ran out the clock. The Jaguars initially converted on fourth down, but it was called back due to holding.

Player of the Game: Denard Robinson (22 Carries, 155 Yards, 2 TDs)

Re: Back To Square One - CaziusCray's Tennessee Titans (Madden 16)

WEEK 14: TITANS @ JETS PREVIEW

The Skinny

The Titans can clinched the AFC South with a victory over the Jets, who are already eliminated from playoff contention. The Jets have absolutely nothing to lose in this game, so they should have the advantage at least in that respect.

When The Titans Have The Ball

Marcus Mariota has looked great since his return from injury (53/72, 699 Yards, 9 TDs, 1 INT in past two games), but will take on a much tougher task against this Jets defense, which is ranked eighth in the league, and fourth against the pass. Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie lead this secondary.

The Jets' run defense is just not as sturdy as their pass defense, however, ranking 25th in the league. Dexter McCluster should be able to take advantage of this.

Matchup To Watch: Titans Ts Taylor Lewan and Jeremiah Poutasi vs Jets DEs Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson

This will be by far the hardest matchup for the TItans' bookends this season. Poutasi and Lewan have improved steadily all season, but face off against a tough duo in Wilkerson (5.5 sacks) and Richardson (8). These young tackles will certainly have their hands full.

When The Jets Have The Ball

The last time Ryan Fitzpatrick faced off against the Titans, he had a career day. Rest assured the Titans remember this, and will do whatever it takes to knock him out of his rhythm.

It won't be an easy task. Fitzpatrick only has four interceptions so far this season, and they know as well as anyone how deadly he can be when he can throw down the field.

The Jets won't really be too much of an issue rushing the football. They have seven rushing touchdowns on the season, the third least in the NFL, and are 28th in the league in rushing offense.

Matchup To Watch: Jets WR Brandon Marshall vs Titans CB Jason McCourty

McCourty has shut down his opponent's #1 receiver two weeks in a row. He takes on a much tougher task in Marshall, who is taller and bigger than both Amari Cooper (Raiders) and Justin Blackmon (Jaguars). This will be possibly McCourty's toughest test of the season.

Final Score Prediction: Titans 35, Jets 17

Fitzpatrick threw for six touchdown passes last time he faced off against the Titans defense. He will have no such success this time.

Re: Back To Square One - CaziusCray's Tennessee Titans (Madden 16)

TITANS EDGE JETS IN OVERTIME THRILLER

Titans 19, Jets 13 (OT)

Summary: For the first time this season, the Tennessee Titans have been taken to overtime.

On the very first drive of the extra period, Marcus Mariota drove his team down the field, en route to a game0winning touchdown pass, his lone such pass of the game, as the Titans edged out a game New York Jets squad, 19-13, in overtime.

Mariota went 24/38 for 249 yards, the game winning touchdown pass, and an interception in the win.

This was probably the hardest game of the season for the Titans. The Jets completely shut down the Titans' run game, a surprise to many who thought they would run all over this defense.

Dexter McCluster rushed for just 27 yards on 15 carries, also adding the Titans' lone regulation touchdown.

Ryan Fitzpatrick played well against his former team, throwing for 218 yards, 1 touchdown, and one interception on 21-of-29 passing.

It Was Over When: On 3rd and goal at the Jets six-yard line, Mariota would find Harry Douglas, who had Antonio Cromartie completely turned around, in the end zone on a slant pattern, giving the Titans a hard-fought victory.
