The Rise to Relevance

Hello all! I would like to introduce you to my dynasty for the Vanderbilt Commodores. I have been following multiple different dynasties on OS recently and they have inspired me to do my own.

I had my choices of teams down to three, Vandy, Tennessee and Eastern Michigan. I eventually broke it down and chose Vanderbilt. I love the idea of a challenge and that is what is presented to me with this squad. Playing in the SEC, you need to give 110% every week in order to obtain success.

Any feedback is 100% allowed as I want this to be as enjoyable as possible for all who decide to follow along.

Thank you for joining. LETS GO!

(please no posting until I say it is allowed)

Re: The Rise to Relevance

Setup
Game: NCAA Football 14
Console: PS3
Rosters: OS Community 2015-2016 Rosters(Thank you to those who made these, if you happen to stop in)
Sliders: OS Community with minor tweaks
Recruiting: I will not be doing much in terms of recruiting. I will let the CPU recruit people based on the parameters I set in the preseason of every year.
Players Leaving: Transfers and Declarers leave, we cannot persuade them to stay.

Everything in this dynasty will be on Coach Mode. It lets the ratings take over the gameplay and it is much more entertaining IMO.

Re: The Rise to Relevance

Vanderbilt Football History

There's a very valid reason I titled this the way it is. Vanderbilt University football was established in 1890 as an FCS school. The dominated the competition, winning multiple SIAA Championships from the late 1890s to the early 1920s.

Since the though, there hasn't been too much success. They moved into the SEC along their fellow SoCon members, many of which remain in the SEC today. Their head coach during the move, Dan McGugin, would soon retire after the move. He was easily their best coach of all time as he took them to many great seasons. Once he retired, though, the program fell into a deep oblivion. They have had many more losing than winning seasons, more coaches than I can count, the list of issues goes on and on.

They did have a brief time of success under head coach James Franklin, who took them to bowl games in all 3 years he was coach, going 2-1 in those games. Derek Mason couldn't even come close to following James Franklin's success, going 3-9 in his first year with the Commodores.

This led to his firing and a new hire...

Head Coach Raymond Williamson

The new head man at Vanderbilt is former high school assistant coach Raymond Williamson. Williamson is a very dynamic presence on the sideline as evident in videos online. He was a 3-time state champion in Kentucky and has a great deal of family relations to Vanderbilt University as both of is parents both attended and graduated from the school.

Here is a quick rundown of what Williamson brings. A high octane running offensive style which may not work out for a while with this team. He also likes to run multiple defensive looks to confuse the offense.

Award Winners and All-Americans

(these will be throughout the series only, not in their history)
