Fitzwater, Blue Devils Rout Bethel Park Despite Early Struggle

Mt. Lebanon, PA--The Mount Lebanon Blue Devils opened up their season at home against Bethel Park and went away victorious by a score of 31-7. Senior QB Andy Fitzwater threw 3 TDs and 1 rushing TD.

The Blue Devils had started the game with some struggle before finding their rhythm in the second quarter. In the first quarter alone, Fitzwater was a victim of 3 consecutive sacks, an interception, and a fumble while rushing on a play. That all changed in the second quarter, and the Blue Devils offense continued it's air assault for the rest of the game.

With the win, Mt. Lebanon is 1-0 and will host the State College Roughriders in week 2.

Game notes:

Andy Fitzwater was seen speaking with a scout from Syracuse after the game. According to the scout, Fitzwater stated that he will include the Orange as one of his potential destinations.

Blue Devils Escape State College, 28-21

Mt. Lebanon--The Blue Devils are now 2-0 after defeating the State College Roughriders at home. Senior QB Andy Fitzwater lead the offensive attack and launched an air assault that lead to three touchdowns in the first quarter. By the end of the quarter, Fitzwater already surpassed 200 passing yards. Two of the touchdown passes were to WR Craig Ostrander.

Late in the game, State College rallied to close the lead but failed to knock off the Blue Devils.
