ARLINGTON, TX - In the lowest scoring game of the tournament, a touchdown and a field goal was all the Oklahoma Sooners (12-1) needed to advance to the Western Semifinal at the Rose Bowl.
The Iowa Hawkeyes (9-5) held on to a 3-0 lead at halftime, but the Sooners' offense woke up in the third quarter as Baker Mayfield's 46-yard bomb to DeDe Westbrook made it 7-3.
The teams traded field goals, extending Oklahoma's lead to 10-6, but it was Nick Hodgson's 45-yarder that sealed the game.
With 1:08 left to play, the Hawkeyes' shot at a game-winning drive fell short after C.J. Beathard's deep pass was picked off by Zack Sanchez.
