Player News

Michigan St OLB Brion Mincy is losing ground as the top ranked LB after his 4th consecutive poor performance this weekend.

Scouting Spotlight

 photo image_3.jpg

CB – Tavares Pittman, Nebraska
Draft Projection: RD 1 Pick #28
Age: 24
HT: 5’11”
WT: 185
Style: Man to Man
Scheme: Attacking 4-3
Production Grade: 88
Physical Grades: SPD – A, ACC – A, INJ – A
Position Specific Grades: MCV – B, ZCV – B, PRS – B
Instincts: PRC – D, AWR – C
Intangible: C

Scouting Notes:

Very Productive player from Big10 conference. Checks all the boxes for size and physical attributes. Older player already 24 years old. Solid coverage skills, but nothing that jumps off the page. Good fit for what we ask for out of our corners, but may be better suited to play NB to start career.

Re: Piloting the Jets: A Madden Franchise

I like Pittman, but I feel like you have bigger needs to address with that high of a pick.

Well we only have 3 CB's under contract going into next year and the only one rated higher than 70 is Milliner (74). A lot will depend on what positions we're able to address in free agency.

Ah that is my mistake, for some reason I thought you were deeper at the position. Well that changes a lot then.

Re: Piloting the Jets: A Madden Franchise

I think Pittman would be a good draft choice in the 1st round for you guys. With his height and weight I would be projecting him as the #2 corner or a good slot cover man. He has the speed and accel to keep up with most guys.
What do you think is a more pressing need, pass rush or cover men?

I'd have to say corner is the bigger need right now. The surprising pass rush production of Coples this year has eased that need a bit, but we'll still be looking for more edge rushers.

Of all the corners projected in late 1st/2nd round Pittman is the best so if he's there for the taking he'll be hard to pass on.
