Re: Climbing The Ladder : Coach Rousseau's Career (NCAAF 14)
Hi guys ! It's been about two months since I last posted in this thread, unfortunately, I had a hard drive crash on my computer and lost many files, and there's also a thing called "real life" that happened (got a new job, girlfriend and I moved to a new home) so I couldn't really post some progress. I still went ahead with the dynasty and I've got pretty much everything on paper, so I'll be able to resume the thread without too much of a loss. Some stories developed around the game, I'll let you in on that as I post.
Again, I'm really sorry for those who were following and were left without an update, I didn't forget you guys !

Breaking : Big XII withdraws invite to Houston
Big XII commissioner Bob Bowlsby
In a surprise move by conference administrators, the Big XII has taken down their standing invitation to Houston. "After further discussions with the schools' boards, the conference staff has decided that the invitation that was awarded to the University of Houston is now off the table. No other invitations have been confirmed for the time being." This move is unheard-of, as we couldn't find any precedent of a conference withdrawing an already-existing offer to a school.
This also brings up some other questions : Will the Big XII go on with only eleven members ? And if not, which school (or schools) will receive the next invite ? The first question seems to answer itself, as the Big XII has made it clear that it want to expand so it can stage a championship game, so they would need to go to 12 teams or more. The other question, though, is harder to answer. BYU comes back as a potential target, but with Houston out of the picture, what schools remain that would be likely considered to move to the conference ?
With the current state of things, Cincinnati would be an addition to a potential East division of the Big XII, and BYU could be added to the West counterpart, but the teams comprising the divisions would likely be a matter of dispute, as the conference would be better suited to a North-South arrangement. With 4 schools in Texas alone, and all towards the western side of the conference, adding BYU would make it 5, but the sixth would be a hard guess. The Oklahoma and Kansas schools are rivals to one another, so splitting them would get a "No" from the schools' boards, and Iowa State is just about too much to the east to be added to a West BYU-plus-Texas-schools division. As with many things in the College Football world, only time can tell.

Another great day for Warren as Owls defeat Hilltoppers
BOWLING GREEN -- A great defensive effort, coupled with another fantastic performance from Jay Warren, helped the Owls defeat Western Kentucky 29-17 yesterday, at L.T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green. Warren carried the ball an enormous 47 times for 293 yards on the ground and one touchdown, while the defense limited the Hilltoppers to a mere 274 yards of total offense. Despite the workload, score were hard to come by for the Owls, with senior K Jeremy Carter being called upon on three occasions, with a 44-yarder in the second quarter being his first (and longest) of the three field goals he registered.
Junior RE Jarvis Lowe had a big impact on defense, with a sack and a fumble forced (which he also recovered), while redshirt freshman MLB Cedric Haynes leading the defense with 8 tackles on the day. Western Kentucky's junior FS Sean Stewart had a busy day on defense for the losers, recording 16 tackles, while the rest of the Toppers defense getting 5 times to QB Greg Hankerson, who only gained 109 yards through the air, including one touchdown pass to Shaq Vereen. WKU's two touchdown scores came through passes as well, one each to RBs Cam Lewis and Nicholas Norris.
The Owls travel again next week, meeting the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (3-3, 1-1 C-USA) in Murfreesboro. Last season's meeting between the two ended in a 44-35 loss to the Raiders, as the Owls were on a losing skid, having lost to Western Kentucky and Marshall the weeks before. There is no such skid this year yet for Florida Atlantic, and the Owls will try to keep their winning streak alive.

Re: Climbing The Ladder : Coach Rousseau's Career (NCAAF 14)
TO : Coach Guillaume Rousseau FROM : Athletics Director RE : Commitment received
Our team's form as of late has greatly impressed our recruiting targets, and we received a written commitment from the following prospect :
Mike Porter - HB
Hometown : Fort Gordon, GA
High School : Butler High School
Height : 6'1"
Weight : 209lbs
40yd dash : 4.46s
Bench press : 300lbs
Squat : 285lbs
Grades : *** - 63OVR
He was consistent enough to repeat his scouting results for our tests, but careful analysis of his high school play has led our staff to award him a grade of *** - 66OVR.
Congratulations on your win last week against WKU, and keep up the good work, remember it helps recruiting, which will help you in the future. Our next game away at Middle Tennessee will be crucial for some of our targets, that we may receive their commitments.

Owls defeat Raiders despite injury to Warren
MURFREESBORO -- Florida Atlantic didn't leave anything to chance against Middle Tennessee, relying on their proven running game to pound the ball into the endzone. Four of their 6 scores of the game came on the ground, with a 9yd pass to junior TE Willie Wheeler and a 23yd field goal by Jeremy Carter the only points not coming from either Jay Warren or backup junior RB Rob Wilkinson. The Owls' 495 yards of offense overshadowed the paltry 153 yards of their opponents, of which only 5 were gained on the ground.
Jay Warren started the game strong, scoring once in each of the first two quarters, but fell to an injury later in the second, when he was tackled by senior LB Michael Banks, and did not get up by himself. Warren had to be carried off the field, and did not return for the rest of the game. Backup Wilkinson took it upon himself to acrry the Owls' running attack, gaining 190 yards on the ground and scoring the last two touchdowns for his team. Middle Tennessee's only scores came towards the end of the second quarter, as they were held scoreless in each of the other periods.
On the defensive side of things, since FAU had the ball so often, the Raiders could put up some big numbers, with four of their defenders recording double-digit tackles, led by Banks with 13, including one quarterback sack. Redshirt freshman FS James Bridges followed closely with 12 tackles of his own. One notable defender on the Owls side was junior cornerback Bo Coleman, who picked off Raiders' quarterback Johnathon McCreary for the only turnover of the game.
With the win, the Owls climb to 5-2 (3-0 C-USA) on the season, good enough for a first place tie with heated rivals FIU. FAU will finally play at home next week, as the host the UTSA Roadrunners (1-6, 0-3 C-USA). The Owls will try to get the same result as they did last year against UTSA, when they won 52-23 as they visited the Roadrunners in San Antonio.

Re: Climbing The Ladder : Coach Rousseau's Career (NCAAF 14)
I'm now turning to you guys, those who read this dynasty write-up religiously or only occasionally. Starting next year (2018, my 3rd year with the FAU Owls), I would like to include new prospects in the mix, created by you guys. I don't know how big the turnout will be, but I'll likely limit myself to 10 created prospects (or less) for that next year. That limited number will be easier to follow week in and week out.
If you are interested, just reply in the thread with the following information :
Recruit Name :
Height / Weight :
City / State :
Position :
Tendency (scrambler QB, possession WR etc.) :
Best Stat :
Worst Stat :
Skin Color :
And some background info if you'd like (would be nice, actually, and make it some more personal).
None of this needs to be real at all, it will be only to make things more interesting for everyone. I'll be tweaking my layouts to account for the new additions, so you can expect some evolution as well in the graphics. I'll have more details on the creation process when I get to it.
