Backstory (I'd definitely love to work these into my writing when a player is overperforming/underperforming, becomes great, just in a random spotlight)-

A lightly regarded prospect from Massachusetts after starring in high school, Brown spurned a few small FBS scholarship offers for more playing time and a better opportunity in-state at Harvard. Much to his surprise, Brown found lots of success at the FCS level and could be a very good NFL player. There isn't much to say about Brown. He is not flashy, cocky or arrogant like many others before him, he simply lowers his shoulder and gets the job done. Brown has always been quiet, mild-mannered, and extremely intelligent on and off the football field (I mean, he got into Harvard), allowing him more flexibility in terms of system as a quick study.
