ERIC PHILLIPS
Defensive Back – Columbia, Mississippi
Ole Miss has landed Eric Phillips, a three star defensive back from Columbia, Mississippi. Eric chose the Rebs over offers from Mississippi State and Vanderbilt as well as Purdue and Indiana.
Phillips has solid speed for a cornerback or above average for a safety. He has good hands and tackles well. He has played primarily man coverage, which he does well. His six foot frame is a bonus as he will have to match up with some big receivers in the SEC. He currently weighs 178 pounds but should easily pack on ten to fifteen pounds of muscle in the Rebels training program.
Eric was sold on Ole Miss due to the location, the lure of the SEC and he liked the team's versatile defensive scheme.
"Eric should be a nice addition to our secondary. He will most likely be used as a corner for us and he'll be our biggest corner from day one." Defensive coordinator Jason Jones said after the announcement was made official.

Ole Miss will play host to 5-5 Troy in their final non conference and final home game of the season. It will be senior night so expect to see a few senior reserves in the lineup throughout the game.
Players to Watch
TROY SAFETY CHRIS PICKETT
Troy's senior quarterback Corey Robinson throws the ball nearly 38 times a game. He has completed just 48% of his passes this season and thrown 17 touchdowns to 16 interceptions. The Trojans use a two runningback system with fullback Jarod Lee and tailback Khary Franklin getting nearly an even number of carries through the season. Lee has 104 carries for 474 yards and two scores while Franklin has 100/167/4. Out wide Eric Thomas (57/672/5) and Chandler Worthy (29/397/3) are the biggest threats while Robinson also relies heavily on tight end Jim Teknipp (38/554/5). Troy is missing their starters at both offensive tackle spots.
On defense safety Chris Pickett is the best player. He is a ball hawk who has tallied 37 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a pair of picks. Middle linebacker Mark Wilson leads the team with 62 tackles while sophomore defensive end Tyler Roberts' 4.5 sacks is the team high. Cornerback Keion Payne leads the team with three interceptions.

OLE MISS SET THE TONE WITH A STRIP SACK ON THE THIRD PLAY OF THE GAME
REBS ROLL TROJANS
Oxford, Mississippi - In their last "gimme game" before wrapping up their season against Missouri and Mississippi State the Rebels rolled over an inferior Troy team.
Ole Miss punted once and ran out the clock in the fourth quarter while securing a convincing 49-6 win.
The Rebels ran the ball 41 times for 233 yards and five scores while throwing it just 20 times for 187 yards and a pair of scores.
Defensively Troy was only able to muster 206 total yards of offense, just eight rushing.
Ole Miss took the ball away five times, three interceptions and a pair of fumble recoveries.
"It's one of those games where you're like 'OK, that's what we wanted but let's get it over and get out without any injuries.' We won't spend too much time celebrating 'cause we have a tough schedule to finish out the season." Coach Hugh Freeze said after the win.
Ole Miss took the opportunity to play a number of lesser used seniors as it was their second to last home game and it got lopsided early. They also rested a number of players including Laquon Treadwell and Donte Moncrief.
After starting the season 1-3 Ole Miss has now won six straight games. They'll host Missouri next week before traveling to face Mississippi State on the 28th to wrap up the regular season.

Very underrated report you've got going here, I've been following since the beginning. And good luck closing out the season, you're really streaking now after those early season woes
