Seahawks Blow out Browns

Note: I played the first half of this game. Then all hell broke loose.

The Browns were actually leading the Seattle Seahawks 14-0 at the end of the first quarter. Then, well.....

Two second quarter interceptions thrown by Josh McCown and a fumble on a kickoff helped Seattle build a 35-14. Knowing this Browns team would never come back, I simmed the second half, where things got a little bit messy. 5 INT's? Ugh.

The Browns are now 1-13 and are desperate for the season to end.

Browns end Season 1-15 with a game or two not worthy of highlights

Note: I forgot to save the details on the season ending loss to the Steelers, but rest assured, Cleveland was terrible. Let's just all agree this wasn't the best year for the Browns and get ready for the post-season, shall we?

2015 Browns Team Leaders

Let's take a look at the ugliness that was the 2015 Cleveland Browns:

At quarterback, Austin Davis was the best of the bunch, although that's really not saying much. Injuries forced both Josh McCown and Connor Shaw to start games this season, and that did not end up pretty.

Silver's analysis: Statistically, it is imperative that the Browns address the quarterback play in the upcoming off-season. Analysis does show that when protected, Austin Davis played at or near the league average, but under pressure was one of the worst quarterbacks in the league. The only one worse? Well, that would be teammate Josh McCown.

At running back, Zac Stacy provided a spark in the last few games, and probably earned himself at least consideration for a contract going into next year. Both Crowell and Duke Johnson Jr. showed flashes at times, but the offensive line wasn't dominant enough to make a significant impact.

Silver's analysis: The Browns rushing game was actually a bright spot relative to the rest of the offense. Unfortunately, the team trailed so often that the run game was usually all but abandoned by the third quarter, compounding the passing deficiencies. It stands to reason that the best way for the Browns to improve their run game in the upcoming season may well be to improve the passing game. Crowell and Johnson are both under contract for the upcoming season, so don't expect an early pick to be used on a running back.

Receiving:

Brian Hartline is a fine player, but he's not a number one wide-out. Neither is Travis Benjamin. The struggles for the Browns in this area really stem from not having any single player that an opponent has to truly scheme for in any shape or form. Zach Miller was adequate at tight end, but an upgrade somewhere here would be a tremendous help.

Silver's analysis: The Browns need a true number one. Someone like Josh Gordon, maybe? This would go a long way in stretching opponent's defense a bit. However, this will need to go hand in hand with a new quarterback, as Austin Davis consistently proved that he did not have the arm strength to complete any deep passes with accuracy.

Pats Win Superbowl, Brady walks away a Champion

The New England Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks 35-21. The biggest shock, however, came from Pats superstar QB Tom Brady, who announced this was his last game.

"I want to go out on top, and this just feels right. I'm proud of everything we accomplished."
