-- Marcus Lewis to visit against Minnesota
Four Star dual athlete Marcus Lewis of Gonzaga High School will take his official visit next weekend when the Michigan Wolverines host the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Lewis can play both defensive back and running back amongst talents at wide receiver also, but Michigan head coach Brady Hoke sees the 6'1", 194lbs recruit playing at the cornerback position should he commit to the Wolverines program for next season.
"He has multi positional talent" Hoke to us here and Maize and brew "But he has better defensive awareness over his ability to play roles on the offense and that's why we are recruiting his as a defensive back."
There is a lot to like about Lewis from a physical standpoint. He has the combination of size, length, and speed that coaches covet in a cornerback who can matchup against the big time receivers.
"I'm exited to see what the campus has to offer," Lewis told local reporters. "Its been a fun process so far and to be recruited by coach Hoke himself it shows their real interest in me."
-- Pettine visit's against Indiana
It is no secret that the Wolverines must sign a punter in this season's recruiting class. Will Hagerup is a senior and will graduate at the end of the season, leaving the Wolverines with untested scout squad members to potentially play the position next season.
Some may laugh that a punter visiting against Indiana in two weeks has made the headlines but as its such a crucial position of need for Brady Hokes recruiting class we felt the need to let everyone know that they have their sights set on Thomas Pettine of Concordia St Paul's.
-- Making ground on Sheffield
Up until spring, five star cornerback Kendall Sheffield wasn't even thinking about the possibility of playing football in Ann Arbor, however as we approach week five of the collegiate season the 6'0", 181lbs defensive back has moved Michigan up into fourth place and as every week passes the Wolverines seem to be making ground on the three schools above them which are Texas A&M, Tulsa and Arkansas State.
-- Beckner Jr. has Michigan in his top 5
Michigan got the news this week that five star defensive end/tackle Terry Beckner Jr. had cut his list down to just five schools and Michigan were in it.
With some ground to make up on Missouri, who Beckner Jr. has given a soft verbal too as the season began the Wolverines are sitting slightly behind according to rivals but are ahead of Ohio State, LSU and Florida State respectively.
