Week 3, 2005
Hawaii @ Michigan State
(1-1) 21 F 0 (1-1)
Hawaii -- 0 | 0 | 14 | 7 || 21
Mich St -- 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 || 0
Recap Summary
Spartans shocked at home in shutout
Drop it like it's hot! The Spartans offense was abysmal, dropping pass after pass, as well as fumbling the rock multiple times. It was a defensive battle for most of this one. And despite creating four turnovers, Michigan State was unable to generate offense and dropped this game in an upset to Hawaii.
The quarterbacks in this one combined for a lousy 32% completion rate, which really tells the story here.
Michigan State had a chance in the second quarter to take a three point lead, but missed a 47 yard field goal which would set the tone for the rest of the game.
The Spartans had one standout performer in David Herron. The linebacker recorded three interceptions and recovered a fumble. One of the greatest single game performances for a defensive player ultimately went to waste. Next up for the Spartans is Notre Dame, a tough test on the road.
