annnnnnddddd Boom goes the dynamite. Huge win over WVU. It's amazing how well an offense can function when they take care of the ball. Good win, looks like that FCS opponent truly was a "tune up" game.
If you can, I like seeing in game pics. You don't need a lot, but its nice to see a few from time to time. The real life pics are cool too though. Otherwise, I think you're good. Throw in whatever you like, but it's all about balance. Don't feel a need to overwhelm yourself by throwing in a ton of info for each week. It can start to interfere with your pace of play. If you're a guy who plays a game every couple days, you could spend hours trying to catch up with articles, updates from the league, etc etc etc. It can be draining.
I don't know if you instill your own rules for recruiting and injuries etc etc, but that can add immersion for you. IE one of my rules is any player who suffers a concussion cannot play the next game, due to concussion protocol.
Will try to add pictures when I find the best way to do so. Let me know what way works best. Going to start slowing down on games, but I still have to catch up on here. Recruiting update should come after Purdue game + something else big
College Park, MD- The game between Maryland and Purdue was a game that was controlled by the defenses. Purdue ended the game with 274 yards and Maryland ended with 382 yards. The first quarter was a quite stale one for both teams. Neither team was able to get any points throughout the whole quarter, and the only big thing that happened for either team was a pick for William Likely III. The Terps were not able to capitalize, and thus the quarter ended 0-0.
In the second quarter, things really turned up for Maryland and their offense. After a stop on defense, Perry Hills led the offense down the field, and capped off a 74 yard drive with a Avery Edwards 2 Yd TD catch. The Terps were able to get the ball back from the Boilermakers, and they capitalized again. This time they got into the end-zone with a Trey Edmunds III 23 Yd TD run. The Terps managed to get their second pick of the game; this time it was Alvin Hill. As time ran out in the half, Adam Greene connected from 30 yards to make the score 17-0.
The third quarter was very similar to the first quarter. Neither team really managed to do all that much on the offense side of the football for the first half of the quarter. Then, the Terps got a spark from their QB Perry Hills, and he led them down the field for another TD. From 2 Yds out, Trey Edmunds III ran it in to make the score 24-0.
The final quarter of the game started out hot for David Blough and Purdue. He had already got them down most of the length of the field at the end of the third, and he connected with Cameron Posey for a 23 Yd TD. The Boilermakers were able to convert on the 2-pt conversion, making the score 24-8. Hills and the Terps responded with a quality drive of their own, but he was eventually picked off by Danny Ezechuckwu in the end-zone. Not much happened for the rest of the game, and the Terps were able to come out victorious, 24-8.
This win for the Terps makes them 3-1 on the year, and 1-1 in the B1G. Next week they will travel out to Arizona to take on the Arizona St Sun Devils. Purdue is now 0-5 on the year, and 0-2 in the B1G. They will go back home next week to take on B1G foe, Northwestern.
Post-Game Interviews
Rep: What went right defensively for your guys this week?
Coach Durkin: Well, it is always rough to face a conference opponent, but out guys were well prepared and made the plays to stop them. Jones is an NFL talent, and we shut him down which was the key to our success, in my opinion.
Rep: How do you like your role as the nickel corner?
W. Likely: I think that it is the role that I am suited very well for. I am very under-sized, I know that, but in the nickel spot I can cover the small guys. We have to run a lot of nickel because of the spread, and I think I can continue to dominate these receivers. I don't know why they test me.
Rep: What was going on for your D-Line today?
Coach London: 6 sacks is impressive. Our guys went out their and attacked very well. Glad Roman was able to get 2 for himself, too. We have one of the more talented D-Lines in this conference, and we need to put them in the position to dominate, and we did that today.
