Minnesota Vikings Franchise (Madden 17/PS4)

-- Coming off an 11-5 record and taking the NFC North crown from the Green Bay Packers, everything was looking up for the upstart Minnesota Vikings. But as has been the case over the course of the Vikings existence, something bad seems to always happen at the worst possible time. Young star QB Teddy Bridgewater suffered a season-ending injury just before the start of the season as he went down during practice with a torn ACL. But that as it turns out wasn't he the worst of it for the team. Superstar Adrian Peterson suffered a torn meniscus and he had season-ending surgery.

But with the season seemingly already over, GM Rick Spielman shocked the NFL world by acquiring former #1 overall pick Sam Bradford from the Philadelphia Eagles as a way to salvage the season. Now without stars Teddy Bridgewater and Adrian Peterson, the Vikings offense is going to have to get it done with Sam Bradford (or Shaun Hill if Bradford goes down), Jerick McKinnon and young receivers Stefon Diggs and 1st round pick Laquon Treadwell.

Despite the blows on offense, the Vikings defense has flourished under 3rd year coach Mike Zimmer and is the reason many experts believe the Vikings still can contend for the not only the division title, but make a run in the playoffs. That defense is lead by the likes of All-Pro FS Harrison Smith, stud OLB Anthony Barr, DT Linval Joseph, etc. If the Vikings are to win the division again and make a deep run in the playoffs, they're going to have to take a page from the 2015 Denver Broncos team and dominate with a smash mouth defense to make up for a potentially weak offense.
