SYNOPSIS
We killed ourselves with turnovers in this one (seven!). Poor QB play with unadvised throws and keeping the ball too long simply made it impossible to get a foothold in the game.

This is a big game at the quarter season mark. The Bears are a divisional rival and currently have a 1-2 record as do the Lions. There's a big difference between a 1-3 start and 2-2. The Bears offense is rated 79 overall. They are last in passing yards and 18th at rushing. Their top threat is Alshon Jeffery. They play a vertical passing scheme with lots of screens, curls and sticks. They run 55% of the time and employ an inside run. Their defense is better than their attack. Rated 85, Pernell McPhee is their highest rated player at LOLB. Their scheme is base 3-4. They favour a zone blitz and play a lot of cover 3.

SYNOPSIS
Oh man, what a heartbreaking loss. The game was defensive and a battle for field position; one that The Lions won in the first half but rookie Lutz suffered his first and second misses of his career in the wind. The Bears hung into the game, there were turnovers on both sides and we had to kick a last second 40 yd FG just to take the game into overtime. We won the toss and received the ball but Stafford almost immediately threw a pick and the Bears scored a TD to take the win. Gutted!
On the bright side, it was our best defensive performance of the year so far. It's the offense that really needs to raise their game, starting with Stafford.

The Eagles have a losing record after their first 3 games and we are at home, so hopes of a bounce-back are high. The Eagles offense is 83 overall, 29th in passing yards and 14th in rushing. Their top threat is the Tight End Zach Ertz. They employ a West Coast scheme and run 64% of the time (usually inside zone). The defense is a little more threatening at 89 overall. They are 9th in sacks but only 27th in interceptions. Fletcher Cox is their best defender and so maybe I'll run more outside runs with Hill and stay away from the middle of the line of scrimmage. They use an attacking 4-3 and zone blitz a lot (48% of plays) and usually use a cover 2. They are ranked 1st against the pass and run but this is misleading as they have only played 3 games so far. However, they are still 6th in sacks and Stafford is going to have to get rid of the ball quickly.
SYNOPSIS
An absolutely mental game. It was 0-0 near the end of the 1st quarter, then after a flurry of turnovers and TDs, the score was 21-0 at the end of the 1st quarter and 42-10 at half-time. Stafford had already been benched by this time, having thrown two killer INTs yet again. The game was already over, so I gave Garopollo a chance and he immediately began finding Jones in a way that Stafford has failed to all season so far. We fought back to 49-24 but failed onside kicks, 4th down tries and more crippling interceptions stopped us in our tracks. The Lions still managed to score a further 20 points but it was too much to come back from. Wentz was very good throughout and we failed to sack him.
The season is slipping away already. Stafford has 4 TDs and 11 INTs on the year and a passer rating under 60. Things have to change. Maybe it's time for Stafford to move on so we can continue to rebuild for years to come.
SYNOPSIS
Well we bounced back in style this week after last week's horror show. Garoppolo was excellent completing passes to nine different receivers. Stafford's days at the club could well be numbered now. Both defenses stepped up also, and running on either was nigh on impossible. Hill did scramble in for 3 TDs however, whereas Gurley was shut down for the whole game. We kept blitzing and putting the pressure on Goff and it caused a lot of incompletions. Our ability to get the Rams offense off the field is what gave us the win. Nickel back Redmond was injured in the game and will be missing for 8 weeks. With Diggs already out, that puts us seriously in need of a DB going in to week 7.
