Madden 25 Cleveland Browns Owner Mode Franchise - Rebuild Story

Cleveland Browns Franchise
The biggest thing I need to clear up right now is the reason that I am playing an old game. I have a few reasons. I don't want to buy a PS4 and I was having trouble finding any good sliders. I just gave up and came back to the same old game, Madden 25. I had a Madden 15 Buccaneers 'chise that I sometimes go back to, It's completely unrealistic because I couldn't get good stats. Normally I would spend a couple months trying to get the sliders just right, but why do that when I have good sliders and draft classes for Madden 25? I can draft all the players again, the correct way (unlike the Browns' real front office) and really enjoy a great experience. This is an existing blog on a website listed on my arena. I will rewrite the blog, hopefully daily, with a much different style.

The Story
Nathan Clayton, a completely fictional character, will buy the Cleveland Browns for more than it was bought a year earlier. A lifetime Browns fan, unlike Haslam, jumps in and takes over immediately. He knows the suffering of Browns fans, and is ready to run the team the way the fans would want it.

My Personal Rules
  • Realism - My biggest Rule - I keep realism in my mind in the offseason and while play games. From stats to free agency realism is key.
  • The Posts - Each post will include the games, game stats, and news. I hope to release a post a day.
  • Draft Classes - I use my own draft classes, you can get them here.
  • Sliders - I use a modified version of Charter04's All Madden Sliders - They are great, I suggest them.
  • I am open to suggestions - I am open to suggestions on drafts and free agency moves if you leave a comment below.
I hope you enjoy it. I'm ready to get underway.
Disclaimer: All material within this franchise is fictional. All media from other sites used for entertainment purposes only and I do not profit from its use.

THIS THREAD IS OVER. THE SAVE FILE WAS DELETED ON ACCIDENT. DON'T BOTHER GOING FORWARD. YOU CAN SEE A REPLACEMENT IF YOU GO TO MY ARENA AND GO TO THREADS STARTED BY INNERCORE15.

Re: Madden 25 Cleveland Browns Owner Mode Franchise - Rebuild Story

Ownership Change In Cleveland
Thursday August 18th, 2013 marks the day Nathan Clayton purchased the Cleveland Browns. Only one year after Haslam bought the Browns there has been another ownership change. The deal is reportedly worth over 1.2 billion dollars. The long time native of Cleveland, Ohio has been a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns. Born in 1972 he saw the most recent success of the Cleveland Browns, the downfall, and the move. The successful website owner decided to make a move to football after another abysmal 5-11 season. “I have sat by and seen this team continue to collapse season after season” said Clayton Thursday. The Cleveland Browns have made the playoffs once since their return to the NFL in 1999, Clayton hopes to change this. He told Peter Schrager of NFL Insider “I’m always going to be a fan first, so that means I’m always going to be looking out for the fans here because I know what they want.” All Browns fans hope this new era brings the success they have been craving for a long time.

Re: Madden 25 Cleveland Browns Owner Mode Franchise - Rebuild Story

Press Conference with New Cleveland Browns Owner Nathan Clayton
This is the transcript of the new Cleveland Browns owner's press conference from Friday afternoon. This is his first press conference since purchasing the Cleveland Browns.

Clayton: I would like to thank you all for the positive feedback I received today when I arrived at the stadium today. I know how the fans are in this city, but I never expected such a response. So many fans have wanted to be in charge of a franchise, including me. I feel as if I can get the team to where it one was, that we can win a Super Bowl. I know I'm going big picture here but that's what a rebuild is. I just want to thank the NFL, the Browns organization for the great welcome I have received, and the fans that are as excited as me. Alright, I will open up the questions.

Question from Reporter: Do you really feel that you can run the team? A lot of fans want to be an owner but don't really understand how difficult it is.

C: I understand that ownership is not all that it is made out to be. I am ready to take on the challenges and take the management of the team full on. Most of all I want this team to be successful, no matter what it takes.

Q: Is there going to be a change in the coaching staff?

C: There will be no change in coaching staff. The pre-season starts in about a week and the team is ready to go under this staff. The players, the front office, and the coaching staff are all on the same page. I will remind everyone that this is a rebuild and patience is the key, I will respect Chudzinski, Turner, and Horton. I think this has been the biggest problem with the Browns in the past 15 years.

Q: How about quarterback? What's going to happen at that position?

C: I knew this question was coming. I want to say that there are no decisions made yet. We aren't for sure doing anything in the off-season this year. That being said, there is a competition at that position. It's all going to come down to their performance and Chudzinski's decision.

Q: What type of performance do you expect from the Browns this year?

C: I expect an improvement from last year, but I did say this is a rebuild. Patience will be key to a winning team. I still want playoffs, that's what the team should be aiming for.

C: Thanks for having me, I've got to get to work.

Re: Madden 25 Cleveland Browns Owner Mode Franchise - Rebuild Story

As much as I disliked M25 on the 360, I am excited to see someone try to work with old rosters and actual draft classes. I have a thing for old games and people making it work so hopefully, you can turn the Browns into a contender.

Couple quick questions:

1. Do you still have Trent or is this a roster that is post-Trent?
2. Is the plan to make things work with Weeden despite his age, or are you going to see what Hoyer can do before making a decision to go either draft or FA?
3. We all know the real Browns were pretty bad in 2013 despite a solid roster. What are your honest expectations?

Good luck man!

Re: Madden 25 Cleveland Browns Owner Mode Franchise - Rebuild Story

Hey Stout. I'm not a fan of M25 either, but I'll make it work.
1. These are opening day rosters and they have Trent. He is very inconsistent and will most likely end up traded. Who knows.
2. Weeden sucks. His injury risk is too high, he can't throw, he can't run. Like I said in the press conference says, it is an open competition and the future will depend on his performance. I'll tell you now. Weeden already got hurt in this season.
3. The real expectations are very low. I'm hoping for 4 wins. I can tell you that they're still winless in the games I've played so far.

I'm glad you're enjoying the blog. I've already got posts ready until week 1 of the regular season and I'm pacing myself so I'm ready for that week 1 post. I just learned today about operation sports premade box scores and schedules. That makes my life so much easier. Tomorrow I will post week 1 of the preseason or the entire preseason in one post. I'll decide tomorrow.

Aye feel better man!

Re: Madden 25 Cleveland Browns Owner Mode Franchise - Rebuild Story

Cleveland Browns have a disappointing but impressive preseason.

Cleveland Browns 2013 Preseason Schedule
DATEOPPONENTRESULT
Aug 8vs St. Louis RamsWon, 30-22
Aug 15vs Detroit LionsWon, 29-26
Aug 24at Indianapolis ColtsWon, 35-24
Aug 29at Chicago BearsLost, 34-20

The Cleveland Browns had an unexpected 3-1 preseason just after a 5-11 regular season. What the 3-1 record doesn't show you is over 400 passing yards allowed per game by the Browns defense. The youth of the Browns team didn't do anything impressive or show upside. The small five player 2013 NFL draft didn't help. Barkevious Mingo did make some big time plays with a couple tackles and sacks. Not what you would expect from a sixth overall pick. Trent Richardson and Josh Gordon started their preseason very rough but slowly recovered, probably earning their starting jobs respectively. Although preseason wins are said to be meaningless, this will provide a lot of confidence to the players and a rookie coaching staff. The Browns will enter the season with a major injury to their strong safety T.J. Ward. The Browns will be forced to play rookie Jamoris Slaughter (pick 175) in week one. The Browns added one more player to the roster during the preseason, quarterback Case Keenum who was cut by the Houston Texans. Keenum played in the fourth preseason game and played the best of all of the Browns quarterbacks. He led the offense better than any other quarterback in about 3 quarters of play with 1 touchdown and no interceptions. He later left with a broken collarbone. The Browns will face the Miami Dolphins at home to open the season on September 8th, 2013.
