Bengals blank Bandits 24-0, punch their ticket to the semis

It was business as usual for our Bengals last night, as quarterback Tommy Jacobs accounted for all three touchdowns and our defense was impregnable. Jacobs had two of his touchdowns through the air, while adding a third on the ground, ending the game with 393 total yards, 347 of which came passing. Winona was never in the game, as it quickly turned to Blaine's advantage, as they worked wuickly to score and then shut down the game. The Bengals will face the Minnetonka Skippers in next week's semifinal. The first meeting between the two teams ended 31-7 in favour of the Bengals, but it was the only defeat the Skippers suffered, so they are surely going to want to right that wrong.

Jacobs earns honors as Bengals head to State Final with 28-13 win

Our best player was the best when it counted ! Quarterback Tommy Jacobs went 20-for-29 and 318 yards passing with 2 touchdowns, and added 2 more rushing touchdowns on 88 yards on the ground, including a 62-yard run to help the Bengals take down the Skippers and advance to the State Finals. Defense was once again on their game, allowing only 13 points to the Skippers. There was still a worry on Jacobs' shoulders, as he threw 3 interceptions in the game, but he managed to overmatch his turnovers with a great performance. The Final will be played on November 25 at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, home of the Minnesota Golden Gophers, and will be a rematch between the Bengals and the Lakeville North Panthers.
