Villanova Dynasty (NCAA14)
News out of Villanova as newly appointed Athletic Director Shane Sarosy announced that the football program will join the FBS. This move has been in the works since their FCS championship in 2009. After over half a decade later it's finally happening. They will be joining the American Athletic Conference in the East Division. One of the main reasons for the long delay is the place they play. Villanova Stadium. A venue that only hold 12,500 people. With no room for expansion with it being so close to the University's indoor facility, The Pavilion, the NCAA has made an Exception for the Wildcats to Join the FBS. Villanova will continue to play most home games at Villanova Stadium but will play bigger games at nearby Lincoln Financial Field (Also home of the Temple Owls and hold about 68,000 seats) much like the basketball team that occasionally plays at the Wells Fargo Center across the street. Sarosy has also hired former Villanova Running Back and Philadelphia Eagles great, Brian Westbrook, as the Head Coach. This will be Westbrook's first gig as a Head Coach but Sarosy believes he's the right man for the Job. When asked he responded "We looked through all the possible candidates came to the conclusion that this is our guy". Reporters asked Westbrook about how he feels about going through the process of starting from the bottom. "Umm.. you gotta have patience. Trust the Process as they say around here. We have a good program and now playing an FBS schedule we'll get better recruits and before you know we will be able to compete with anyone". Time will tell if Westbrook is up for the job. He has a long road ahead of him as the Wildcats are projected to finish at the Bottom of the AAC. They will Visit Penn State in week one.
