WEEK 2 PREVIEW


BALTIMORE- Week 2 of the 2014 NFL Season kicks off with a AFC North Showdown between the Ravens and the Steelers. The Steelers will be without Franchise QB Ben Roethlisberger again who has been ruled out earlier still nursing his shoulder injury from a Pre Season game.The Steelers will once again turn to Undrafted QB Rick Hammond who made his first start last week in a 36-10 blowout loss by another Rival, the Cleveland Browns

WEEK 2 RECAP

BALTIMORE- It was a rainy night in Baltimore as two AFC North Rivals took to the field on Thursday Night. Joe Flacco and the Ravens steamrolled the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-6 who was without Ben Roethlisberger who was sidelined with a pulled groin. The man who stepped up into the QB role was Undrafted Rookie Rick Hammond who struggled against the Ravens Defense.
Hammond who was 24/29 for 281 yards had no TD's and was picked off twice by the Ravens Secondary. He posted a 78.3 QB Rating and was sacked 4 times.

"Division games always go like that. " Rick Hammond stated. "They're tough. Division foes know each other best."

Super Bowl 47 MVP Joe Flacco was spectacular tonight dropping 3 Touchdowns and 276 yards against a weak Steelers Defense. He also had no picks and a rating of 153.2.

"Joe is the leader of this team. We all know if he's on the field, we can all rally behind him." Ravens Runningback Bernard Pierce stated. He stepped in for the injured Ray Rice tonight sitting out with a wrist injury. He had 25 carries for 113 yards and a TD.

"Doesn't matter what the scoreboard is. Pittsburgh will be a contender. Always will be. They're a well coached team. " Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh stated.

Speaking of rushing yards, the Ravens run defense was phenomenal. Holding Bell and Rookie Tribble to a combined 14 carries for 45 yards and zero TD's.

OUTSTANDING.

"We knew it was gonna be a long game if we couldn't get the run game going and it was. We have alot to work on for next week. Baltimore deserved the win tonight. " Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin stated.

The Ravens will look to ride the momentum into next Sunday as they head to Cleveland to battle the Browns. The Steelers will look to bounce back next week on Sunday Night Football as they face the Carolina Panthers.
