It's about that time - College Football season. Makes me itch for a new NCAA game, but I guess what we have will work fine. This year, deciding to start a teambuilder dynasty with my local team, Wichita State. Hopefully they bring back football IRL soon. I'm starting in 13-14, and the next post will show how we got there. I'll be following the conference realignment guide as the years go by.

Shockers receive all-sport invite to Mountain West

WICHITA, KS. Wichita State University received an all-sport invite to the Mountain West Conference on Tuesday, sources have told the Wichita Eagle. WSU president John Bardo has informed us that they will accept the invitation, and are looking into starting football as another varsity sport. This invitation was fueled by the Shockers' basketball team recent success.

Shockers to begin FBS football in 2013

WICHITA, KS. WSU President John Bardo made an official announcement Friday evening, saying that the Shockers would accept an all-sport invitation and begin play in the Mountain West Conference in 2014. Wichita State also announced their football program would begin operation immediately, and a national head coach search is underway. The Shockers will play the 2013 season as an FBS independent before joining the MWC in 2014.

K.C. Keeler Hired as Head Football Coach

Wichita State has completed their national search for a head coach and have decided to hire K.C. Keeler, previous head coach at the University of Delaware. He compiled a 52-26 record at Delaware, and his team were consistently some of the best offensively at the FCS level. He is an accomplished head coach, with many awards such as 2010 AFCA Coach of the Year and 2010 Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year award. He has also won an FCS title, 4 NJAC titles, 2 A-10 and 1 CAA title. He also played several years in the NFL as a linebacker. Keeler will begin football operations immediately as the Shockers prepare for the 2013 inaugural football season. The coach runs a spread no-huddle offense which he will be installing at WSU.
