    BleedGreen M18 Fantasy Draft Franchise

Hello and welcome to BleedGreen710's Madden 18 Fantasy Draft Franchise

I haven't documented one of my franchises since NCAA 14 and I've always wanted to get back into doing it, people seemed to really enjoy it. I hope I'll have the time to keep up with this. I chose the Jacksonville Jaguars because they are my local team and I love the throwback black uniforms and helmet. One thing about my franchise you might find different is I will never mention sliders, settings, or ratings. Just football. I don't like getting caught up in that stuff and plus it breaks the immersion of the franchise. If you are ever curious about my sliders or player ratings etc please feel free to shoot me a pm!

Fantasy Draft was done by the CPU so that I have a fair and balanced team
More details to come in future posts - stay tuned!

Coach Terry Supernaw, known as a football strategist, made a name for himself playing defensive back in the All Pro Football league from 2008-2013. He has a focus on the defensive side of the ball but can still manage an offense. Favors conservative play calling. Prefers a 4-3 defense and west coast style offense. Despite no coaching background, Jaguars owner Shad Khan has entrusted Supernaw with the reigns to the new look fantasy draft Jaguars.

          Focus Training

Coach Supernaw has chosen to focus on 3 players in particular this season

          CB Anthony Brown
          TE Jonnu Smith (R)
          WR Mike Williams (R)

Anthony Brown is the teams starting cornerback alongside Logan Ryan, at just 23 years old he has a lot of room to grow and needs to improve his game.

Jonnu Smith has an important role as a backup to 37 year old Antonio Gates. Assuming Gates retires in the near future, the rookie Smith will have an even more important role in the offense. He needs to be ready to step in and fill the starting tight end spot as soon as possible.

Mike Williams, also a rookie, has the potential to be a great #1 WR in the NFL if he can progress. The extra focus will help insure he reaches his potential.

          Preseason Cuts

          FS Craig Loston
          DE Chris Smith
          OLB Dekoda Watson

These players didn't meet our standards.

Re: BleedGreen M18 Fantasy Draft Franchise

Days before Sundays Week 1 matchup on the road against division rival Houston, Coach Supernaw made it clear that his Jaguars are in 'win now' mode, stating that anything less then 10 wins is a failure in 2017. With aging veterans like Matt Ryan, Antonio Gates, and Demarco Murray leading the team and still looking for their first superbowl, most people would have a tough time disagreeing.

Some keys to success for the Jaguars in 2017:

-Development of young cornerbacks Rasul Douglas, Ahkello Witherspoon, Mackensie Alexander and starter Anthony Brown.

            -Protect Matt Ryan

-Dominate the line of scrimmage with Fletcher Cox and Linval Joseph

Wow, this week 1 game is going to be a tough one to follow. After a slow first quarter, the Jaguars capitalized on every opportunity they were presented with in the 2nd quarter, scoring an astounding 31 points - including a pick six on the final play of the half to cap it all off. Jacksonville scored just 7 points in the 2nd half, but it was more then enough to win the game. Matt Ryan had a historic performance, completing his first 21 passes of the game, finishing with 23 completions on 24 attempts for 266 yards and 3 TDs. His favorite target was Antonio Gates who had 7 receptions for over 100 yards. Demarco Murray managed to get 188 yards on the ground thanks largely to 2 huge runs of over 60 yards including one on a 3rd and 22. The offense compiled 432 yards total.

As for the Texans, Carson Palmer seemed off all game, finishing with 61% completion rate and 2 INTs. He made several inaccurate throws. Part of the reason for his performance has to be attributed to the pressure all night from DE Carlos Dunlap who had a staggering 10 tackles and 5 total sacks in the game. Texans RT Jordan Mills got absolutely abused by the former Florida Gator all game long. Fletcher Cox and Karl Klug joined the party with sacks of their own. FS Lardarius Webb picked off another pass in the 2nd half to compliment his pick six in the first half. MLB Anthony Hitchens had 10 tackles.

DT Linval Joseph didn't fill the stat sheet but did a great job of clogging the middle and made life hard for HB Melvin Gordon of the Texans - who still finished with a solid stat line of 11 carries for 80 yards. Joseph and his fellow defensive tackle Fletcher Cox blew up a few plays in the backfield which hurt Houston's momentum on their drives. CB Logan Ryan was quiet and his name was not heard much, which is usually good for a cornerback. G Patrick Omameh gave up 2 sacks which was not a huge issue but if he strings together another game or 2 with similar outcomes it could become a problem. Overall the offensive line played pretty well.

You got a really nice drafted roster to start out, here's hoping that you can have some successful seasons right off the bat!

Thanks! That Wyoming dynasty was so cool I still think of it from time to time - that's awesome that people still remember it. I hope this one can be just as great. I'm gonna be making videos now, what did you think of the first one? I know it was very long (30 minutes) and took me a really long time to make, I'm thinking I need to make them a lot shorter. Should I leave the commentary or turn it off? Add music instead? Add my own commentary? Only show the big plays? Any feedback is appreciated its my first time making videos like this.
