Re: The Portland Snowhawks: A Dynasty Born - (Madden 18)
Portland Snowhawks 2018: S1 Recap
It was a solid year for the first year of the Portland Snowhawks dynasty. No expected this young team to come out and win the AFC North, yet they were in first until the very last whistle and of their very last game. The defense played above expectation, recording a lead leaguing 99 sacks, they were able to put pressure on opposing offenses all year. While the offense struggled at times it looked like things were coming together towards the end of the year up until the final two games. It will be an interesting off-season, Portland has an abundance of picks from their fire sell year at Clevland, and hopefully, they also may be able to land a free agent or two. Portlands Offensive Player of the Year: M.Monroe Portlands Defensive Player of the Year: J.Collins Sr/L.Kelly

2019 Season 2 Off-Season Recap (Snowhawks)
Progression Z.Gonzalez - K - 71 → 86 L.Kelly - MLB - 83 → 87 D.Njoku - TE - 82 → 85 M.Monroe - QB - 77 → 82 J.Collins Sr - LOLB - 83 → 84 F.Hopkins - HB - 80 → 83 L.Ogunjobi - DT - 81 → 82 D.Huffman - MLB - 77 → 80 K.Gore - LE - 85 → 87 M.Garrett - RE - 89 → 90 B.Boddy-Calhoun - CB - 83 → 84 L.Collins - SS - 94 → 95 H.Wilson - CB - 72 → 73 D.Kindred - FS - 78 → 80 J.Tretter - C - 75 → 76 A.Spears - WR - 80 → 81 J.Bitonio - LG - 84 → 86 L.Stokes - WR - 77 → 78 E.Ogbah - LE 75 → 76 K.Gregory - WR - 75 → 76 R.Johnson - LT - 75 → 76 T.Allen - CB - 72 → 73 J.Burgess Jr - LOLB - 74 → 75 We saw some really good progression out of our top picks. Unforutanly L.Kelly was robbed of Defensive Rookie of the year, quite clearly outclassing the rest of the competition. Voters voted him 4th in defensive player of the year behind M.Ingram, J.Collins Sr, T.Davis yet he finished second in Rookie of the year voting. Monroe has progressed but really not at the rate wanted by the coaches. Staff Fired Chief Scout - A.Taff Head Coach - H.Jackson Hired Head Coach - M.Hedrick Lv24 (Zone run, Attacking 3-4) - 6.5M / 3 Years Chief Scout - D.Sadler Lv22 (OL Overall) - 110k / 3 Years So after a rather successful year with a young team why fire the head coach? H.Jackson simply did not fit the scheme we want to run as a team. He's a 4-3 guy and offensively just did not get the job done. We also improved our Head of Scouting by tenfold hiring the veteran D.Sadler. Both were tough decisions but ones Portland is willing to make to improve this team. Re-Signing Name - Age - Pos - OVR - Contract yr/Per Year/Bonus - Total B.Boddy Calhoun - 24 - CB - 84 - 5yrs/4.5Mil/2.5Mil Bonus - 43M / 6 Years D.Johnson Jr - 25 - HB - 85 - 5yrs/3.11Mil/1.79Mil Bonus - 24.5m/6 Years D.Shelton - 26 - DT - 80 - Did not sign T.Coley - 25 - DT - 75 - Did not sign R.Telfer - 27 - TE - 71 - Did not sign I.Campbell - 27 - FS - 71 - Did not sign S.Rogers - 24 - FB - 70 - Did not sign J. Burgess Jr - 25 - OLB - 70 - 2yrs/1mil/390k - 2.03m/2 yrs D.Cann - 25 - MLB - 68 - Did not Sign S.Coates - 26 - WR - 69 - Did not Sign T.Smionton - 24 - QB - 66 - Did not Sign We brought back key members of this team in D.Johnson Jr, and B.Boddy-Calhoun, also brining back J.Burgess Jr a great backup. The rest were all easy decisions to let go except D.Shelton; however, he simply wanted too much for what he was to this team and that was a backup who was not seeing the field often. Also, the Snowhawks look to add DT Depth in coming drafts which made the decision easier. Free Agency None We went after A.Donald heavily; however, just were not able to out bid the Jets. Other than that there were no FA's that Portland was interested sides maybe an extra WR. Draft Board: #1 - Ranked Early 1st - E1st Talent - C.Brewster QB #2 - Mid 1st - M1st T - J.Davis CB #3 - Mid 1st - M1st T - T.Hail WR #4 - Mid 1st - M1st T - A.Casey CB #5 - L1st - L1st - J.Tolliver - CB #6 L1st - L1st - V.Bellanca - FS #7 L1st - L1st - J.Berhe - MLB #8 E2nd - L1st - J.Werner - C #9 E2nd - E2nd - D.McGraity - RE #10 M2nd - L1st - R.Combs - TE #11 E2nd - M1st - S.Chambers - LG #12 L3rd- L3rd - R.Carter - WR #13 E4th - E4th - Z.Goodley - QB #14 L4th - L4th - L. The key problem being we have the number one overall pick. Do we take the Heisman Winning, NCAA Champion, and MVP C.Brewster with having second-year M.Monroe at the helm? This will be the key decision in the entire draft.
Draft Breakdown R1P1: C.Brewster - Even with Monroe performing well Brewster was just too good to pass up. He is a one in a lifetime Quarter Back. Scouts say they are reminded of P.Manning when they saw him in college and Pro-days alike. Brewster looks like the franchise QB you need to start a dynasty and that is what we are here to build. R1P9: J.Davis - We traded away our 19th overall pick and C.Coleman for J.Davis. We knew Carolina would grab him if we didn't and Portland wanted him bad. He's 6'2 yet has 94 speed. Our scouts firmly believe he was the best pure defensive talent in the draft. R1P10: Traded to GB for R1P25/R3P80 - After picking up J.Davis we decided there was nothing of extreme need at this point in the draft and looked to pick up a third and later 1st which was offered by GB R1P12: Traded to Was for 2020R1/R3P82/2020R5 - At this point again everyone we liked in the mid rounds was gone and taken early so we decided to stack up on picks again this time from WAS R1P16: V.J Bellanca - While Kindred has been good at FS, Bellanca looked like a monster. He has a great zone, hit power and speed. Scouts were reminded of a Harrison Smith when looking at him, he just needs to tune his mental game and he could be one of the best in the league. R1:P25 J.Werner C - A great athletic center who really impressed at the combine showing his measurables were up there with the best of them, he looks like a year one starter no doubt and will help the offensive line protect new QB Brewster, and open up lanes for Hopkins and Johnson. R2P34: S.Chambers - A solid pick our scouts had him rated as the #1 OG in the draft and 15th overall at 34 Portland felt like they got a steal. They are looking to move Chambers to RT and start over Johnson, he might be a tad small for the Tackle spot, yet his strength is up there with the best of them. R2P36: R.Cobbs - The best TE in the draft, he will make a great number two being Njoku and in front of DeValve. Overlooked because of his struggles to get going at Appalache St. He has the talents to develop into a #1 all-around TE R2P40: Traded to Bal for 2020R1/2020R7 - Nothing in need here, and the hope is that Baltimore pick turns into another top ten for next year. R2P51: R.Carter WR - A solid 4th WR, Carter's only problem is Route running if our coaches could fix that Carter could be a great starting WR and an amazing red zone threat. R3P66: Z.Goodley - Our scots really like Goodley, an extremely athletic QB and the perfect backup to Brewster. We don't if Monroe is on his way out or will even outshine Brewster but regardless its good to have a solid backup in Goodley. R3P80:L.Tarrant - Another very talented OG who will be a godsend to our backup oline. If someone goes down we have an athletic young guard to push in whatever need be. R3P82: Trade to Min 2020R2/2020R4 - Nothing we like here looking to stack picks R4P102: Trade to NJY 2020R3 - Again nothing to great at this spot it was a struggle to even get a 3rd rounder next year but we got it done with the Jets. R5P130: C.Myers - A very raw and athletic end, hoping he can develope into a serviceable backup R5P147: B.Sams HB - Speedy, with size Sam's similar to Myers, has the measurables and raw physical ability but needs to be tuned into a serviceable backup Last edited by Jetfire; 10-19-2017 at 12:06 AM. |

Pre-Season - Meet the 2019 Portland Snowhawks
New Coach New Playbook. The Snowhawks will be transitioning to a zone run scheme. However, coach Hedrick made it clear this team is extremely diverse. Don't be surprised for the offense to look very different week in and week out based on the defense they are facing. While defensively the team will continue to run the attacking 3-4 Style that ranked them 1st in pass rush last season and in the top 5 against the pass. C.Brewster and V.Bellanca ball out to seal their starting spots. B0th played an amazing pre-season. Some other highlights included B.Boddy-Calhoun who in just a couple quarters of football had 3 INT. A.Spears has made it clear he is the number one option for this offense as a WR.
Schedule W1: @Bills W2: @Bengals W3: @Jets W4: Bye W5: @Ravens W6: @Colts W7: @49ers W8: @Rams W9: Vs Steelers W10: Vs Broncos W11: Vs Seahawks W12: Vs Cardinals W13: Vs Bengals W14: Vs Ravens W15: Vs Dolphins W16: Vs Patriots W17: @Steelers Yes thats right are first 7 games are on the road with an 8 game homestand in the middle. I dont know what the hell the NFL is doing. But if Portland can come out of those first 7 games with a winning record, they are in prime postion for a playoff run. S2 Pre-Week 1
Introducing Matchup Previews! Each post each week will now include Boxscore, Recap, Injuries. Then there will be a mid-week post with league scores, news, standings, and Preview of the Matchup. Week 1: @Buffalo There are no Injuries on either side. The Bills are coming off a decent season; however, with T.Brady retired they are looking to finally take the division from the Patriots. They come with a very solid defense and an offense that last year just didn't get the job done. J.Hill and McCoy will be leading the backfield as the Bills will often look to run first if last year is any sign. T.Taylor's #1 target will be J.Matthews and look for him to have the biggest impact in the passing game alongside C.Brate. While this extremely young Portland team looks to take the AFC North and disappointing losing control in the very last game of the season. They will be starting 5 Rookies similar to last year, but new head coach Hedrick looks to put these players in a position to succeed from the start. |

S2 Week 1: @Buffalo Bills
The Re-Cap A great game by Portland is going to start this season on the right foot with a blow out win. C.Brewster should why he was a number one pick playing an amazing game. The throws he made getting the ball in tight spots looked effortless. Both interceptions came from crazy plays from the defense, one was a lineman jimping up, tipping it and catching it. The other was a slightly overthrown ball and a safety had to dive and catch. F.Hopkins and this new offensive line looked unstoppable, they were getting up getting out and hitting people, this new look zone run offense has many in the Portland camp very very excited. While defensively we got classic Snowhawks football, turnovers, and sacks. Both starting rookies J.Davis and V.Bellanca made interceptions on their debut, while Davis was able to return his for a touchdown! Kirksey and Garrett disrupted the QB on the right side all day long and had huge games. Unfortunately, K.Gore suffered a torn shoulder and will be out 5 weeks. From the Bills point of view their offense looked okay, but defensively they could stop nothing. Going ahead and looking at the team it seems like they have had some bad drafts coupled with losing key players on that defensive side, we will have to see how this effects them this year. Is this the end of Monroe? Brewster looked like everything promised, a game manager and a star QB. We have heard rumors that Monroe is already on the trading block and Portland is either looking for an exciting piece to put them over the top or more draft picks. The Snowhawks have put together back to back incredible drafts. |

Re: The Portland Snowhawks: A Dynasty Born - (Madden 18)
S2 Week 1: Round Up
M.Monroe to the Chicago Bears after talks dating back from the start of pre-season a deal is finally done between the Bears and Portland. The bears have been eyeing Monroe, despite their success last year M.Tribusky has been a disappointment and they need someone to carry the young and talented team. Portland Receives: 2020 1st Round, 2021 4th Chicago Receives: M.Monroe 2020 6th, 2020 7th Its been a weird start to his career for Monroe, he almost leads a young talented Snowhawks team to a division title his rookie year, and not even 8 months later he is being shipped off. However, Portland has extreme confidence in their rookie Brewster to be the QB of the future. When talking to the owner Jet he said "With Brewster at the helm I don't think we will need to be looking at QBs for awhile, who knows it could be 10-15 years. However, you never know what can happen. We just felt Monroe's talents would be wasted on our bench and he agreed. We have another great young QB in Goodley if anything happens."
Week 3 Preview @Bengals The Bengals looked very sharp in their first game vs the Ravens. With a healthy Mixon he was able to open up the passing game for A.Dalton, who is now utilizing his younger weapons such as John Ross, alongside the elite WR in Green. Their defense is improved since last year and they have a young rookie safety that looks promising it should be a great game. Injurt Report: Portland K.Gore - LE - Shoulder Tear - 4 Weeks Cincinnati D.Smoot - WR - Ruptured Disk - 7 Weeks Last edited by Jetfire; 10-19-2017 at 07:16 PM. |
