USC TO PLAY FLORIDA STATE FOR NATIONAL TITLE!!

USC
A Week 13 defeat of #1 UCLA (42-16) followed by a shutout win over rival Notre Dame (36-0) in Week 14 and a (28-26) win over Arizona State in the Pac-12 title game helps the Trojans (12-2) climb to #2 in the nation to secure their shot at the title.

FLORIDA STATE

For the Seminoles it was their Week 14 victory over instate rival Florida (42-28) and a (41-14) win over Georgia in the SEC Championship game that left them the #1 team in the country with a 13-1 record.

KANSAS STATE
For 12 weeks the Wildcats were undefeated and sitting #2 in the nation, but a Week 13 loss to Nebraska ended K-State's chance to a National Title as they drop to #4. A rebound win over Oklahoma State in the Big 12 title game (38-23) however does at least secure them a spot in the Fiesta Bowl as they take on #8 Texas who defeated TCU (27-24) to win the American Conference.

UCLA

Last season, UCLA played for a National Title despite not winning the Pac-12 title. Lighting doesn't strike twice though in the same spot. Or so it's been said. The Week 13 loss to USC dropped the Bruins to #3 in the poll and that's where they stayed. With FSU playing in the National title game, the Bruins received the at-large spot to face #10 LSU in the Sugar Bowl. The Tigers defeated Alabama (35-28) in the Sun Belt Championship to earn the automatic bid.

OHIO STATE
For the 2nd straight year, Ohio State has failed to win the Big Ten title, as they fall (28-27) to Wisconsin. However a 11-2 record still gets them the #7 BCS ranking and a spot to face Boise State in the Rose Bowl. With Big Ten title, Wisconsin finishes the year 11-2 and #5 in the nation. and is headed to the Orange Bowl.

NORTH CAROLINA

Normally known as a ACC basketball power, the Tar Heels showed they can play on the gridiron as well, going 11-2 including a win over Virginia (27-10) to win the ACC title and secure the automatic bid to the Orange bowl.

CUSA
Despite no ties to BCS Bowl games, it's worth noting that Tennessee has won the CUSA title with a (38-22) win over Navy.

MAC
Like CUSA, the MAC Champion sometimes goes unnoticed. Last year Cincinnati won it going undefeated and finishing the year in the Top-10, but was the year of the Bobcat as Ohio defeats C. Michigan (26-7) to win the title.

Win or lose in the Rose Bowl, despite 2 loss's the 2019 season will still go down as one of Boise State's best seasons.

JR QB L. Collins started the year in the Heisman Top-5 talk, but 11 INT's over 3 games quickly put a stop to those talks. However with 4150 yds (school record) and 40 TD's in the air and 687 yds and 7 TD's on the ground heading into the bowl game, there are still talks about whether or not he returns for his Senior season.

With a solid performance in the game, Collins will most likely finish the year as the nation's passing yds leader and if he can throw 3 TD's he will tie Kellen Moore's 43 TD's in a season record.

(I do find it sorta insulting that Collins didn't even finish in the Top-10 for the Maxwell or O'Brien.)

JR RB A. Mattison has finally had his breakout season rushing for over 1000 yds, as he continues the Broncos strong tradition of featured backs. Now the question is will he repeat it and follow in the footsteps of D. Martin and J. Ayjai to the NFL or will be be another Ian Johnson,B. Forsey, DJ Harper?

JR WR J. Carter will leave Boise State next season as one of the best WR to ever play at the school. Going into the bowl game he already has amassed 105 rec for 1657 yds with 18 TD's Those #'s have already secured him the Biletnikoff award

Well the Offense gets all the notice, we can't talk about the 2019 season's success without mentioning SR DE D. Miles.

Miles has put together the best season Bronco fans have seen since D. Wing in 1996 (school record holder for sacks, with 20).

But Bronco fans are not the only one's to have taken notice as Miles dominates post season awards with his 30 TFL and 14 Sacks, Miles was named the Bednarik,Nagurski, and Lombardi winner.

BRONCOS VS BUCKEYES FOR THE ROSES!!!

Despite both teams entering with 2 loss's, and despite having the nation's #1 passing attack, not a single sports writer has given #13 Boise State much chance to beat #7 Ohio State in this year's Rose Bowl matchup.

Coach Moore
Quote:
"It's okay though because everyone knows we play better in the underdog role. Despite win's over Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl and even last year's win over Florida in the Sugar Bowl, we will always be viewed as a team that doesn't deserve to be talked about when it comes to being one of the nation's best"

GAME RECAP
Boise State won the toss and elected to kick and Ohio State answers as they quickly put 7 on the scoreboard with a J. Burrow 1 yd TD toss to D. McCall (7-0) Then after a Collins INT, OSU put's 3 more with a 43 yd FG to make it (10-7). But with 49 seconds to play in the opening quarter, Collins finds #5 WR Bubba Ogebobor on a 6 yd slant to make it (10-7).

The Buckeyes would open up the 2nd Quarter with a scoring drive as M. Weber JR takes it in from 9 yds out to make it (17-7), but the Broncos answer as D. Stephens connects on a 22 yd FG to make it (17-10) and then with 21 seconds to play in the half it's Collins to Mattison from 2 yds out to tie the game (17-17)

BSU would open the 2nd half with the ball but the offensive drive is stalled as D. Stephens kicks a 26 yd FG to give the Broncos the lead. After a defensive stop the Broncos add 3 more as Stephens this time connects from 23 yds out to make it (23-17), but with 1:08 to play in the 3rd, OSU retakes the lead as Burrow connects with K. HIll on a 39 yd bomb to make it (24-23) as we head into the 4th.

Boise State opens the 4th quarter scoring as Collins finds J. Carter on a 10 yd strike. Up by 5, (29-24) BSU tries to go for 2, but the conversion fails.

With a chance to retake the lead though, Ohio State's offense stalls and they they are forced to punt with 5 minutes to play. With a 5 point lead, BSU goes to the ground game as they look to run off some clock and the strategy pays off as R. Parrish finishes off a 78 yd 3 minute drive with a 4 yd score to make it (36-24).

With a 2 score lead and just under 2 minutes to play it appeared the game was over, but Ohio State wasn't ready to give up and with 47 seconds to play they find paydirt making it (36-31). However with just 1 timeout they would need to secure the onside kick for any chance of a win.

With their hands team out there, J. Carter comes up big securing the ball and the victory..FINAL SCORE BSU-36 OSU-31

KEY PLAYERES
QB L. Collins-25/35 252 yds 3 TD 1 INT, 69 yds rushing (Ties Moore's single season TD record at 43)

WR-J. Carter-10 rec 148 yds 1 TD (Becomes school record holder with 115 rec in a season and yards in a season with 1805, his 19 TD's ties A. Butlers school record from last season)

WR M. Lee- 1 rec 10 yds (well this might not seem like a big deal, it gave him 1005 yds for the season.)

Congrats on the Rose Bowl victory to finish off the season in style, tight game but it always was going to be. Let's see what Collins decides to do, if he comes back might just shatter some of them records and a chance at the Heisman.

Thanks. Well playing and winning in blowouts can be fun, I actually enjoy the close ones so much more ,unless it's BYU or Idaho those 2 teams are just fun to destroy.

I can say 100% that Collins returns, now the only question is does K-Moore. Right now I am going to say it's only about 10% chance he does, as 1 school has really taken a big lead in the decision to leave.

FORT COLLINS WELCOMES FORMER RIVAL TO TOWN!!

Fresh off helping guide the Boise State Broncos to a 2019 Rose Bowl victory, Former Bronco great Kellen Moore has turned down a 4 year contract extension to stay as the Boise State OC, and instead will be taking over a Rams program that is coming off a 2-10 finish in the Big 12 last season.

Coach Moore
Quote:
"Honestly it was tough to leave Boise, Coach Harsin and our team, especially QB Luke Collins, but in the end after talking it over with my family, Coach and even Luke we all agreed this was a good move for me"
The Rams are just 2 years removed from a 9-4 season and Poinsettia Bowl victory, so the roster is not completely void of talent and despite a horrible season, Coach Bobo did actually have a decent recruiting class started, with 13 players.

Kellen would waste little time adding 3 more recruits including the Ram's best Overall Freshman, 4* Offensive Tackle B. Ross (69 Overall) who is projected to start at RT next season.

Overall the Recruiting Class ranked #51 in the nation, which again isn't to bad considering that Boise State's class came in at #44, and Oregon was #56.

Coach Moore
Quote:
"Overall I am really excited about our roster going into next season. We will use this spring to sort out starters and position changes, but I really feel like this is a team that can at least compete for 6 wins and become bowl eligible"

OTHER CHANGES

CSU wasn't the only job that came calling, as Moore turned down offers to Maryland,East Carolina,Ohio and another current MWC rival (Nevada)

Well Moore heading to Fort Collins got alot of the attention, it has to be noted Penn State is looking to get back in the National Title hunt as they tab Zach Taylor as their new HC. Taylor spend last season guiding the Ohio Bobcats to a MAC title and 9-5 Overall record before losing to Alabama in their bowl game.

Kansas State had to find a new HC after Bill Snyder decided to call it a career. Leaving as the #3 team in the nation and with a Fiesta Bowl win is a good way to go out. The Wildcats will hope that Dana Dimel will be able to keep things going. Dimel was K-State's OC last season.

TEXAS
In this universe Charlie Strong is still the HC at Texas, but he might not be for long after losing both his OC and DC this season coming off a American Conference Championship and loss in the Fiesta Bowl. His OC is now the HC at Maryland after Moore turned them down, well the DC is now the OC at Ohio replacing Taylor who moved on to PSU.
