I am not using an editor, so my dynasty begins with the year 2013 and will be implementing the old BCS system:

Week 1 Preview

After the stunning news of Brian Kelly's departure, the Irish are entrusting their storied football program with new, out of the box hire, Coach Grinder. A Marshall University Alum, Coach Grinder takes the reigns of one of the most coveted jobs in the nation.

A major NCAA realignment was instituted before the 2017 season, which help realign based on geography. Notre Dame is the newest member of the Big 10, which looks to be a powerhouse. Coach Grinder is being thrown into the fire with an A+ strength of schedule in his first season.

His first test is a matchup with the pesky Navy Midshipmen. They continually seem to be a thorn in the side, but Coach Grinder is hoping to set the tone right off the bat to begin his coaching career. Getting off to a strong start is hugely important considering what lies ahead in the schedule. Momentum is our best friend.

Week 1

NAVY 27 - NOTRE DAME 24

The Irish fandom might have found something more shocking than the recent coaching change. Game 1 of the season sees Navy upset the Irish at home, in a stunning finish. ND trailed most of the game, but saw their defense step up in a huge way in the second half. This allowed the ND offense to mount a comeback, which ultimately failed in the closing seconds. ND had one last shot at a TD inside the 10 yard line with under 20 seconds to play. In a stunner, the Navy defense was able to get a sack and with no timeouts remaining, the Irish couldn't run the kicking team on the field to force OT. Brutal way to begin his coaching tenure, Coach Grinder vows to have his team ready to begin conference play against Indiana in 2 weeks. With the early loss, they'll have to do damage in the BIG 10 with any hopes of a BCS bid come season's end.
