Re: Fight On! A USC Dynasty

Redd Makes Statement As Trojans Trounce Wildcats 47-41

What started as a defensive chess match escalated into an offensive slobberknocker in a tale of two different halves of football.

The game started with an Arizona 3 and out followed by an 8 yd touchdown pass from USC QB Max Wittek to WR George Farmer who was able to fall into the endzone despite contact. Arizona would then march down the field and stall, forcing to kick a field goal. They would then force a Wittek interception in the red zone.

It would be the Trojan's turn to make a defensive play, as they sacked the Arizona QB in the endzone for a safety. They then kicked a field goal to start the 2nd quarter. Both teams would throw for a TD a piece, entering the half USC 19, Arizona 10.

Both teams would seemingly leave their defense in their respective locker rooms, as there was a combined 59 points scored in the 2nd half of this game. QB Max Wittek would take a backseat to Heisman hopeful Silas Redd, who had a monster game, racking up 250+ yards on 36 carries. Redd had a statement run in the 4th quarter, breaking multiple tackles en route to a 64 yard touchdown run.

Arizona would answer though, and the game was USC 40, Arizona 34 as back up USC RB D.J. Morgan would return an Arizona kickoff 99 yards to the house, taking a 47-34 lead. Arizona wasn't going down without a fight however, and marched back down the field again to score once more.

USC put an end to it all however as they recovered the onside kick, and Wittek, Redd, and the rest of the Trojans were able to let the clock expire in the Victory Formation.

Trojans Sign First 2 Commits Of 2014 Recruiting Class

The Trojans have received two commits this week leading up to their game against Notre Dame. The first, coming from 4 star Free Safety Matt Cunningham, and the second from 4 star Running Back Brian Miller.

FS Matt Cunningham is the #6 FS in the country, weighing in at 6'1", 175lbs. He is the number 186 recruit overall. Coming from Philadelphia, Mississippi, Cunningham has a chance to see the field right away next year, as USC has two free safeties that are graduating at the end of the 13-14 season. Cunningham is listed as "balanced" by scouts, runs a 4.62 40, and has a SPARQ rating of 76.00. Matt committed to USC over Notre Dame, Tennessee, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Auburn. Matt was offered a scholarship from Notre Dame, Tenn, as well as Bama.

RB Brian Miller is the 26th ranked RB, and 204'th in the country. He has moderate speed, and is considered as a balanced back. He is 6'2", 213lbs and is from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Miller will more likely than not redshirt next season as there is a bit of a log jam in front of him. Brian selected USC over Minnesota, Auburn, and Tennessee, only receiving another scholarship offer from Minnesota. He has a SPARQ rating of 78.00.

Re: Fight On! A USC Dynasty

Rivalry Week; The Jeweled Shillelagh

The Notre Dame–USC football rivalry is an American college football rivalry between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team of the University of Notre Dame and USC Trojans football team of the University of Southern California, customarily on the Saturday following Thanksgiving Day when the game is played in Los Angeles or on the third Saturday of October when the game is played in South Bend. This football rivalry, which began in 1926, is considered one of the most important in college football, and is often called the greatest intersectional rivalry in college football.

Game Notes
Despite quite opposite seasons, this is still a big game. One of the most prestigious rivalries in all of football, USC looks to march into South Bend and take back what is theirs. Meanwhile, Notre Dame has had a disaster of a season, with both OC and DC rumored to be on the hot seat. Notre Dame seems to have all but given up, yet to defeat a ranked opponent (0-4) this season. Meanwhile, USC is looking to play in the National Title game come this January. With ND banged up and USC out for blood, we think that USC takes back the Jeweled Shillelagh, to the tune of 42-27.

Re: Fight On! A USC Dynasty

Late Game Heroics Lead to USC Victory, 45-33

Max Wickett struggled tonight as the Trojans looked to regain the Jeweled Shillelagh from the Fighting Irish. He threw 3 interceptions, with Notre Dame scoring off of all 3 turnovers. He finished the day throwing 19/28, for 269 yards, 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. All 3 picks came while targeting Marqise Lee.

"They had Lee doubled on almost every play. Those corners from Notre Dame can make plays when they are given the opportunity." said Head Coach Lane Kiffin. "Max was just trying to force things to one of his go to guys. Luckily everyone stepped up and this is a real team win."

Silas Redd really stepped up again, rushing for over 250 yards for his second consecutive week. He's really trying to make a case for the Heisman, as he scored 3 times tonight against the Fighting Irish.

USC was trailing 33-31 with 5 minutes left as they kicked the ball off to ND, looking for a stop to try and get ahead. The next drive, the USC defense stepped up and forced and interception. This led to USC going ahead 38-31. On the next position with ND driving, USC forced a scoop and score after sacking the QB, putting the Trojans up 45-33, closing out the game.
