Re: #TitanUp | Tennessee Titans Franchise | Madden 18
NFL Free Agency: Stage 1 Recap The Titans were extremely busy in the first stage of NFL Free Agency. To start with, they made one trade. Here are the details of the trade: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Receive: HB DeMarco Murray (82 ovr) and 2018 4th Round Pick (#104) Tennessee Titans Receive: 2018 2nd Round Pick (#36) This trade moves former starting RB DeMarco Murray and gives the Buccaneers a new starting RB as Tampa Bay looks to move on from Doug Martin. The Titans also move up to the 2nd Round as they included their 4th Round Pick as apart of the deal. Tampa included their 2nd Round Pick due to their desire to add a young running back in Free Agency since this is an underwhelming RB Draft Class. Before this trade, the only RB on the Buccaneers roster was Senorise Perry (63 ovr). Now onto the Titans' Free Agent signings. The Titans lead the league with 5 signings following the first stage of Free Agency. Here are the 5 players the Titans' have added to their roster: WR Josh Gordon (83 Ovr): 4 Year, $29M Deal The Titans' stunned the NFL when they signed former star WR, Josh Gordon. Gordon was taken in the 2nd Round of the 2012 Supplement Draft by the Cleveland Browns. He had a strong rookie season with 50 catches, 805 yards, and 5 TD's. In 2013, he took the NFL by storm as he finished the season with 87 catches, 1,646 yards, and 9 TD's as he earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl. Since then, Gordon has had a history of substance abuse problems, which has kept him out of the league. When Gordon returned in 2017, he finished the season strong, which lead to this big deal from the Titans. If Gordon can return to his 2013 form, the Titans' got a steal. With the signing of Josh Gordon, this most likely means that the Titans plan on trading a WR currently on their roster. K Wil Lutz (78 Ovr): 4 Year, $6.84M Deal The Titans signed the former Saints' kicker to a 4 year, $6.84M deal. Lutz, 24 years old, originally joined the Baltimore Ravens after going undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Georgia State. Lutz was cut by Baltimore and later signed with New Orleans where he showed he could be a legit NFL kicker. For whatever reason, New Orleans decided to move on from Lutz. Lutz being 24 years old was a major decision in the Titans' choosing to sign him over re-signing reliable Kicker Ryan Succop. RG Dorian Johnson (77 Ovr): 4 Year, $16.3M Deal Dorian Johnson is a 6'5", 315 lbs. Guard who last played for the Carolina Panthers. Johnson was drafted in the 4th Round of the 2017 NFL Draft by Arizona. He had an interesting year... He was drafted by Arizona then cut and signed to the Practice Squad. Then he was signed by Houston in October. In November 2017 he was waived and re-signed to the practice squad. Then, he was signed in January by the Panthers. The Titans see potential in the young 23 year old Guard which is why they gave him the big 4 year, $16M deal. Johnson will likely replace Quinton Spain as a starting Guard on Tennessee's offensive line. LE Dion Jordan (77 Ovr): 3 Year, $5.79M Deal Dion Jordan is an extremely athletic Defensive End who has the size needed to play DE in a 3-4 defense. Jordan was the 3rd pick in the 2013 Draft by the Miami Dolphins. Jordan had a decent rookie season with the Dolphins, but following his rookie campaign, he started having issues with the league's performance-enhancing substance policy. Up until he was signed by Seattle in 2017 he hadn't played a snap since the 2014 season. He had a solid 2017 season with Seattle, he's been able to stay out of trouble (abiding by the league's performance-enhancing substance policy) which gave the Titans' enough confidence to take a chance on Jordan. This is another high risk, high reward signing for the Titans. QB Geno Smith (74 Ovr): 2 Year, $3.92M Deal Backup QB was a HUGE need for the Titans as they enter the 2018 season. Marcus Mariota injured his achilles and will miss the beginning of the 2018 season. Up until this signing, it meant Matt Cassell would have continued to start at QB for Tennessee. However, the Titans' only won one game with Cassell under center. He clearly is not the option, which made the Titans have to go out and sign a QB. Geno Smith was a 2nd Round pick in the 2013 Draft out of West Virginia. Smith put up video game like numbers his senior season for the Mountaineers as he threw for 4,205 yards, 42 TD's, while throwing only 6 INT's. His NFL Career has been a different story. He struggled mightily as the Jets' starter and eventually was signed by the New York Giants. The Titans' signed Smith as Mariota's backup. Even Smith is a major upgrade over what Matt Cassell would bring the team. In other news, former Titans' LG Quinton Spain (80 Ovr) signed a massive 4 year, $39.1M deal with the Washington Redskins. Former Titans' C Brian Schwenke (76 Ovr) signed a 4 year, $11M deal with the Indianapolis Colts.

NFL Free Agency: Stage 2 Recap The Titans didn't sign any players in stage 2 of Free Agency, but they did make another trade. Matthews Trade.jpg The Titans dealt Rishard Matthews, their 2019 4th Round Pick, and their 2018 7th Round Pick to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for the 14th Pick in the Draft. Once the Titans signed Josh Gordon, it was only a matter of time before Matthews or Tajae Sharpe was dealt. But, with the Cowboys striking out on top free agent WR's, the deal for Matthews made sense. Matthews will finally give the Cowboys a legitimate, proven threat alongside Dez Bryant. Matthews built off of his really good 2016 season as he finished 2017 with 73 catches, 1,078 yards, and 7 TD's. Those numbers are extremely impressive when you look at the Titans QB situation last year once Mariota went down with his injury. The Titans pick up their second 1st Round Pick of the 2018 NFL Draft as they look to fill needs at LOLB, LE, and CB.

Re: #TitanUp | Tennessee Titans Franchise | Madden 18
NFL Free Agency: Stage 3 Recap The Tennessee Titans capped off Free Agency as they landed some solid depth players for their 2018 roster. LG Mackenzy Bernadeau (76 Ovr): 1 Year, $1.5M Deal Mackenzy Bernadeau was brought in on a 1 year deal to serve as a backup Guard for the Titans' this season. This will be the 32 year old's 10th season in the NFL. He was originally a 7th Round pick in the 2008 Draft by the Carolina Panthers. He was a member of the Panthers' organization from 2008-211. He was on the Cowboys from 2012-2015 and then was on the Jaguars 2016 team. LE Scott Crichton (75 Ovr): 2 Year, $3.74M Deal Scott Crichton was a 3rd Round Pick in the 2014 Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. Crichton played in 8 games in his rookie season. Since then, he's dealt with injuries. This is a risky move for the Titans', but Crichton does have the talent to provide solid depth... As long as he can stay healthy. HB Jeremy Langford (75 Ovr): 1 Year, $1M Deal Jeremy Langford was drafted in the 4th Round by the Chicago Bears in the 2015 NFL Draft. Langford had an incredible career at Michigan State. The former Spartan ran for 2,944 yards and 40 TD's over the final 2 years of his Michigan State career. He started for the Bears during the second half of the 2015 season due to an injury to Matt Forte. He played pretty well during his stint as the starting RB in Chicago. He was the starter heading into the 2016 season for Chicago. However, he suffered an injury that year which let Jordan Howard showcase his abilities. When Langford came back, he was demoted to 2nd string. He was then released from Chicago after following down the depth chart. In 2017 he was a member of the Ravens and the Jets practice squad. If he can stay healthy, this should be a solid pickup for the Titans. Langford has good Speed and Acceleration. So he'll be a good complement to Tennessee's starting RB, Derrick Henry. FS Kurt Coleman (74 Ovr): 3 Year, $4.95M Deal Kurt Coleman was selected in the 7th Round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Since being drafted by the Eagles, Coleman has played for the Vikings, Chiefs, and Panthers. Coleman should provide solid depth behind the Titans' ball-hawking, Pro Bowl FS, Kevin Byard.

Re: #TitanUp | Tennessee Titans Franchise | Madden 18
2018 NFL Draft: Titans' Team Needs, Draft Picks, and Draft Board The Titans were expected to compete for the AFC South title. However, poor play calling and injuries derailed the Titans' season. When Quarterback Marcus Mariota went down with an Achilles injury, the team really just rolled over and looked like the 2014 Titans that earned the 2nd Pick in the 2015 Draft. With two first round picks and an aggressive GM/Owner combo, expect the Titans' draft to be anything but boring. But, as it stands, lets take a look at the Titans' Draft Picks, team needs, and prospects to watch. 2018 Titans' Draft Picks 1st Round: 5th Pick 1st Round: 14th Pick (Cowboys) 2nd Round: 36th Pick (Buccaneers) 2nd Round: 37th Pick 3rd Round: 69th Pick 5th Round: 133rd Pick 6th Round: 165th Pick Team Needs Following Free Agency LOLB: Derrick Morgan is a solid 3-4 LOLB who had a productive season last year. However, the Titans may look to move on from him due to his hefty salary. Morgan's primary backup, Kevin Dodd is being moved to DE due to his lack of coverage skills. The Titans will have to address OLB in the 1st Round of the Draft. This is an AWFUL OLB Draft Class. CB: The Titans have a really good duo of Logan Ryan and Adoree Jackson at CB. After those two, it's a mystery as to who should be the slot corner. LeShaun Sims and Cameron Sutton both struggled when covering slot receivers last year. The Titans will select a CB early in this Draft. LE: The Titans did a good job of getting more 3-4 Attacking DE's in Free Agency. DaQuan Jones will slide inside to Nose Tackle and so will Austin Johnson. Because of those position changes, the Titans signed Scott Crichton to provide depth and Dion Jordan in hopes that he'll reach his full potential. Kevin Dodd is being moved, most likely, to LE in order to create competition between Dodd, Jordan, and Crichton for that starting LE job. However, none of those 3 are proven at the NFL level. So, if the Titans really want to address the need at LE, they'd have to choose one within the first two rounds. LG: Quinton Spain didn't re-sign with the Titans and instead signed a MASSIVE 4 year, $39M deal with Washington during Free Agency. Due to his decision to not return to Tennessee, the Titans signed 2nd year Guard, Dorian Jackson. Jackson played well at the tail end of the 2017 season, but isn't really proven. Expect the Titans to select a Guard during the Draft. C: The Titans only have 1 Center on the roster. And that Center is starter Ben Jones. So, a late round pick will have to be used to select one in case Jones gets injured during the season. HB: Derrick Henry is without a doubt the starting HB for Tennessee. Signing Jeremy Langford gave the Titans some experience depth. However, Langford has struggled to stay healthy since 2015 and is the only other RB on the roster. The Titans will have to select an RB early in this draft because this is one of the worst RB Draft Classes in recent memory. Titans' 1st Round Draft Board 1. LOLB Wisler Biggers, Tennessee: Biggers (unfortunate name) is a 6'5", 262 lbs. monster from the University of Tennessee. He is hyped up to be the most talented player in the 2018 Draft. Not only does he have massive size, but he also ran the fastest 40 yard dash of any OLB in the Draft. The man is a physical freak. He's got great Block Shed (B+) along with really good Hit Power and Finesse Moves (B). He is without a doubt the #1 player on Tennessee's draft board, but he probably won't fall to them at #5. 2. CB Roman Campbell, UCLA: Campbell is a 6'2", 207 lbs Corner from UCLA. He's listed as a Mid 1st Round talent and that's where he's been projected to go in numerous mock drafts. He is listed as the #2 corner in this draft. But, the Titans like him more than any other corner in the Draft. Campbell has great size and ran a 4.38 40 yard dash. He has good Man Coverage, Zone Coverage, and Press Coverage abilities (all rated as B). If Biggers isn't on the board by the time the 5th pick comes around, the Titans may trade back and get Campbell a bit later in the 1st Round. 3. RE Darion Besler, Wisconsin: Besler is a 6'4, 293 lbs. DE from Wisconsin. He's projected to be a Balanced 4-3 DE, but Titans' scouts like him as a 3-4 DE. He's got incredible Hit Power (A), Tackling Ability (B+), and Power Moves (B+). He's also one of the more agile D-Linemen in the Draft. Despite being the #2 DE in the Draft, he's got the top Draft Combine score of any D-Lineman at 7.3. Besler is going to be a star in the NFL, but the Titans may be forced to pass on him if there are bigger needs (LOLB, CB) that need to be addressed. 4a. MLB Nile Kennard, Georgia: The OLB class is so bad (especially if you need 3-4 OLB's), that the Titans are thinking of taking one of the many, good MLB prospects and moving them to OLB. So, their top LB on the board after Wesler Biggers is Nile Kennard. Kennard is a 6'2", 255 lbs. MLB from Georgia. Kennard is an incredible tackler (A-) who has Great Hit Power (B+) and Block Shed (B+). With his size, skills, and the fact that he's only 21 years old, that's pushed him slightly passed the player who we have rated 4B. 4b. MLB Duncan Cordle, Oregon: Duncan Cordle is a 6'1", 243 lbs from Oregon. Cordle is rated as the #1 MLB in the Draft. But due to Kennard's slight height/weight advantage, and since Cordle is 23 years old while Kennard is 21 years old, that has Kennard rated slightly higher by the Titans. Cordle has incredible Hit Power (A-) and has great Tackling and Pursuit ability (both B+). He ran the 2nd fastest 40 yard dash out of any MLB in the Draft Class at 4.57. He's projected to be an Early 1st Round Pick. 5. CB Darrien Gresham, Auburn: Gresham is a 6'1", 183 lbs. corner from Auburn. He's rated as the #1 CB in the 2018 Draft by many NFL analysts. Gresham is great in Man Coverage (B+), really good at Press Coverage (B), and good in Zone Coverage (B-). He also ran a 4.37 40 yard dash at the combine. He's more of a Run Support corner though, which is why Titans' scouts have him rated lower than Roman Campbell. He'll still be a fantastic selection if he falls to the Titans. 6. CB Aaron Winn, Tennessee: Winn is a 5'10", 212 lbs. corner from Tennessee. He's the #3 rated corner in the Draft Class and he's supposed to be the final CB selected in the 1st Round. Winn is a bit small at 5'10", but he makes up for it with his speed. He ran a 4.37 40 yard dash at the combine. He's good in Zone Coverage (B), Press Coverage (B-), and ok in Man Coverage (C+). Man coverage is what killed slot corners in 2017 and since he's not real good covering WR's in man to man, he probably won't be the pick. But, he's clearly the 3rd best corner in the Draft thanks to his athleticism. 7. MLB Tyren Malone, Ohio State: Malone 6'3", 254 lbs. MLB from Ohio State. Malone is viewed as a Cover 2 MLB in the NFL, but definitely has the size to play 3-4 OLB in the NFL. He's got great Tackling and Pursuit ability (B+) and good Block Shed (B). He's rated as a late 1st Round Pick. The only way Malone would be the Titans' pick is if they miss out on Biggers, Kennard, and Cordle. 8. RG DeJuan Richardson, Georgia: Richardson is a 6'2", 316 lbs Guard from Georgia. Richardson is considered an Early 2nd Round talent but he is the most complete Guard in this Draft Class in terms of blocking ability. He's more of a Run Blocker, but has A- Impact Block, B Run Block, and B- Pass Block. He also did really well on the Agility drills at the Draft Combine. If Richardson fell to the 2nd Round, he'd definitely be the pick for the Titans. 9. RG Armond Cooper, Michigan State: Cooper is a 6'3", 325 lbs. Guard from Michigan State. Cooper is rated as the #1 Guard in the Draft Class. He absolutely killed it at the combine as he was rated in the Top 3 for every drill. Cooper is another Run Blocking Guard as he has A- Impact Block and B Run Block. However, he's not that good of a Pass Blocker (C+). His Pass Blocking ability is the major factor in him being 2nd on the Titans Draft Board for Guards. 10. LG Morgan Tanner, Georgia: Tanner is a 6'4", 328 lbs. Guard from Georgia. Tanner is regarded as a Zone Blocking Guard and is projected to get picked late in the 1st Round. He has B+ Impact Block, B Run Block, and C+ Pass Block. So basically, all of the Guards that have a chance at being drafted in the 1st Round aren't real good at Pass Blocking. The intriguing thing about Tanner is the fact that he had the 2nd most bench press reps for LG's at the combine with 39. 11. RE Ross Patmon, Oklahoma: Patmon is a massive 6'7", 288 lbs. 3-4 DE from Oklahoma. Patmon is regarded as a 3-4 Versatile DE and is projected to get selected Late in the 1st Round. He has B+ Block Shed, B Tackle, and B Pursuit. He had a solid combine grade of 6.5 despite not having a top 3 score in any category among RE's. Patmon is an option for the Titans late in the 1st Round. He'd be a go to pick in the 2nd Round if he falls there and if Richardson gets selected in the 1st Round.

Re: #TitanUp | Tennessee Titans Franchise | Madden 18
2018 NFL Draft: Day 1 Trading the 5th Pick The Tennessee Titans came into the draft with LOLB Wisler Biggers from Tennessee as their top target. However, he was selected 3rd Overall by the San Francisco 49ers. With the Titans selecting at #5 they knew they could move back a few spots and still grab the #2 player on their board, CB Roman Campbell. So, GM Jon Robinson struck a deal with the New York Giants. The Titans would move down to the 12th Pick and they also get the Giants' 2019 2nd Round Pick. Here are the details of the trade: 12th Pick: CB Roman Campbell (82 Ovr, Quick) 14th Pick: MLB Nile Kennard (82, Superstar) Trading For Another 1st Round Pick After looking at the needs of teams left in the 1st Round, we didn't feel good that some of our top prospects left on our board would make it to us in the 2nd Round. So, we tried to find trade suitors. Since we drafted Nile Kennard, it didn't make much sense to keep Derrick Morgan around due to his big contract.... We offered Morgan in numerous trades and we didn't strike a deal until we offered a trade to Seattle. The best LOLB on their roster was 68 overall Josh Forrest. And the final LOLB of the draft that was starter quality was chosen with the 24th Pick. So, we traded Derrick Morgan (77 ovr) and backup TE Bucky Hodges (76 ovr) to Seattle for the 29th Pick in the Draft. Morgan will immediately start for the Seahawks and Hodges will be a much needed upgrade as the Seahawks' backup TE. 29th Pick: RG DeJuan Richardson (81, Superstar) DeJuan Richardson.jpg ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2018 NFL Draft: 1st Round Results

2018 NFL Draft: Round 2 The Titans had the 36th and 37th Picks in the 2nd Round of the Draft. The plan going into the 2nd Round was to select RE Ross Patmon and then select HB Andre Burnett with their other pick. Luckily for the Titans, when their picks came around in the 2nd Round, both of those players were still available. 36th Pick: HB Andre Burnett (78, Superstar) 37th Pick: RE Ross Patmon (79 Ovr, Quick)

2018 NFL Draft: Round 3 Trading the 69th Pick The Titans took a look at the Draft Board and knew that they could select the player that they targeted later in the round. So, they began taking offers for the pick. They struck a deal with the New Orleans Saints. Here are the details to the trade: Tennessee Receives: 2018 3rd Round Pick (#91) and 2019 2nd Round Pick New Orleans Receives: 2018 3rd Round Pick (#69) Trading Back Up For the 88th Pick 88th Pick: C Mason Giordano (77 Ovr, Normal)
