QB T Brady 30/40 351 YARDS 4 TD
RB S Michel 16 ATT 61 YARDS
RB J White 13 REC 86 YARDS

Injuries: OT I Wynn - Abdominal - QUESTIONABLE

Miami, FL - Dwayne Haskins, who replaced Tannehill in Week 5, started the game off rough when he was intercepted by Stephon Gilmore. A handful of plays later Gordon took a slant 10 yards in for the first points on the day. Miami went three and out, Brady took over at the 28 and got the ball near field goal range after hitting Gordon and Patterson on successive plays. A rough the passer penalty kept the drive alive and Brady made the defense pay by connecting with Patterson to extend the lead. The Dolphins got a drive going and finished it off with a short field goal early in the 2nd.

The Patriots offense kept humming and got down deep into Miami territory on a Burkhead catch and run. White took a swing pass 15 yards to setup first and goal at the 7. White then took a dump off to the 4, lost a couple yards on a pitch, but Patterson got it in from 6 yards off on a shallow crossing route to make it a 21-3 game. The Patriots forced another Miami punt but had to punt it back themselves with 3 minutes to go. Brady and the offense got the ball back with 1:41 on the clock, got down to the 10 with 13 seconds left, and hit Patterson two plays later to go into the break up 28-3.

New England started the 3rd with the ball and picked up a couple first downs easily. White took a Brady pass to the 47 and got injured on the tackle. He left the game with an elbow sprain but was able to return a few snaps later. Ghostkowski added a field goal later in the drive to push the lead to 28. Miami punted on their next possession and the Patriots put together a lengthy drive that found them inside the redzone at the end of the 3rd. The Patriots started off the 4th with a second and nine from the 11. White bobbled and dropped a would be walk in touchdown, then got a fresh set of downs at the 6 thanks to a pass interference call. Michel took the ball down to the 1, Gordon dropped a quick slant, and on third down White got stuffed for a 4-yard loss. Ghostkowski missed the field goal try and the long drive ended with no point.

Miami proceeded to turn it over on downs at their 27, which led to a White fumbled at the 5 and scoop and score by the Miami defense. New England ran the ball seven straight times to start their next drive, getting down to the 18 after a 29-yard Archer sweep. New England took a play action shot on the next play but Brady overthrew Patterson. After Michel got the ball to the 10, White broke a tackle at the line and ran it in, his 21st touchdown on the season. Gilmore picked off Haskins just two plays later and returned it for a score. Miami went three and out afterwards and Ta’amu came in for Brady to finish off the game. White took a dump off and got popped, fumbling it and the Miami defense scored their second defense touchdown of the game. The Dolphins final drive of the game ended in a punt and Ta’amu was able to knee away the remaining time.

Week 15 @ Baltimore (9-3-1) W 38-31

QB T Brady 16/29 196 YARDS 2 TD 1 INT
RB J White 7 ATT 79 YARDS 2 TD

RB J White 12 REC 96 YARDS 2 TD

Injuries: OT I Wynn - Abdominal - OUT ; RB S Michel - Torso - OUT ; QB T Brady - Elbow - OUT ; RB R Burkhead - Chest - OUT

Baltimore, MD - The Patriots visited the 9-3-1 Ravens, which have been on a recent run thanks to their new All-Pro running back Le’Veon Bell. Coming into the game Bell leads the league in rushing, with 1,399 yards and 15 scores. Baltimore leads the league in rushing offense, and is top 5 in total offense, which helped leading into a rain soaked matchup against New England.

Sony Michel got the game going with a 12-yard run, but was injured on the next snap. Facing third and long, and a heavy blitz, Brady floated a pass to Gordon that was intercepted. Tom Savage took the field in place of an injured Lamar Jackson, but the offense operator almost solely out of Bell who had 7 carries on an opening touchdown drive. New England didn’t trail long, as the offense quickly worked downfield and White took scored through the air from 19 yards out. Bell took the bulk of the workload again, carrying the ball down to the redzone. John Brown capped off the Ravens drive with a TD grab.

The 2nd started off midway through a Patriots drive that saw them just outside field goal range. White snagged a contested catch at the 14, add on a roughing call that setup the Patriots at the 7. White added another catch to get to the 1 and finished it off on the ground to tie the game at 14 a piece. Devin McCourty intercepted Savage, which led to 43-yard Ghostkowski field goal. Hightower picked off Savage later in the 2nd, this time leading to a 12-yard White touchdown reception. The Ravens answered right back with a 36-yard Brown touchdown just a handful of plays later. Brady got the ball back with 1:51 on the clock and all three timeouts, but a couple uncharacteristic Edelman drops forced a three and out. Baltimore worked its way into field goal range but Savage took a bad sack which resulted in time running out before the Tucker could get lined up. Patriots were up 24-21 at the break.

Baltimore punted on its first two 3rd quarter possessions. Midway through the quarter Brady got hit hard by CJ Mosley and went down with an apparent wrist injury. Later on the same drive Ghostkowski missed a long 59-yard try, giving the Ravens good field position on a drive that would see them tie the game on a short Tucker kick early in the 4th. Brady’s injury become more clear on the next Patriots drive, as it was his elbow not his wrist that he injured and he would not return. Things brightened up a little when White took a handoff up the middle, juked the safety and went untouched 76 yards to take the lead. White had been held to negative yards on a handful of carries till that point.

The Ravens were forced to punt on their next drive after a couple holding penalties ended what looked like a promising drive. Later in the 4th New England started off a drive at the Baltimore 44 thanks to a Patterson punt return. On the first play Ta’amu hit an outstretched Patterson how dove into the end zone to catch Ta’amu’s first career touchdown pass. Baltimore responded with a Crabtree scoring drive where they had to go for it on fourth down twice to keep it alive. The Patriots went back to the ground with 4:35 remaining to try and hold on to their 7-point lead. James White fumbled but luckily New England recovered it. On the next play Burkhead went down with an injury, leaving New England with only two active running backs.

The Patriots punted the ball back with 2:58 after Ta’amu sailed a pass high over Edelman. Tom Savage failed to convert a fourth and eighteen at midfield, giving the ball back to the Patriots with 1:43 to go. New England played it safe, keeping the ball on the ground and forcing the Ravens to use their timeouts. Facing a fourth and one at midfield the Patriots lined up to go for it. Ta’amu drew an offsides on the hard count, giving the Patriots a free first down and effectively ending the game.

Week 16 Vs Houston (4-10)W 34-20

Injuries: QB T Brady - Elbow - 2-4 WEEKS ; RB R Burkhead - Chest - 4-8 WEEKS ; OT I Wynn - Abdominal - OUT ; RB S Michel - Torso - ACTIVE ; RB D Archer - Arm - QUESTIONABLE

Foxborough, NE - Brady was diagnosed with a sprained elbow. Luckily for the Patriots it is his none throwing arm, so he should be able to come back in time for the playoffs. Sitting at 13-0-1 the Patriots have already locked up a first round bye so he’ll have four weeks to rest and recover. Meanwhile rookie Jordan Ta’amu will get his first career start against a Texans team that is only playing for pride at this time.

Houston stalled out at midfield to start the game, but was able to pin the Patriots inside their own 5 on the punt. Ta’amu made a mistake early when he tried to make a pass under pressure and got hit mid throw. The ball floated in the air and was caught by a blitzing linebacker who ran it in for a touchdown. Ta’amu nearly threw a pick on the next series which ended in a three and out. Houston drove down and scored, pulling ahead 14-0 midway through the 1st.

New England started off the 2nd at the HOU 34 and faced a third and long after a negative White run. Ta’amu faced a rush but stayed in the pocket to deliver a strike to Edelman in the redzone. White took a screen to the house on the next play, muscling his way into the end zone to cap it off. Houston pushed the lead to 17-7 on a lengthy field goal drive. With under two minutes to go the Texans crossed midfield but we’re forced to put back. Ta’amu, with only 12 seconds on the clocked, took a kneel to send the game to halftime.

New England went to the ground to start the 3rd, running it six straight times to start. Dri Archer got injured on the 6th run, clutching his arm after a hard hit. White finished off the drive on a 1-yard pitch, his 22nd rushing touchdown on the year. DT setup the Texans inside the redzone on a long catch, but again the Houston offense stalled out and had to settle for a field goal. Houston led 20-14 with 1:30 to go in the 3rd.

Ghostkowski cut into the lead with a 42-yard field goal early in the 4th. Luke Falk, who replaced an injured Watson earlier in the 4th, made a huge mistake on the next drive by under throwing Hopkins and getting picked off by Gilmore. Setup at the 29, the Patriots quickly got to the 3 on a Gordon deep crossing route. White ran it in on the next play to take the lead. It was his 28th total touchdown, tying him with Shaun Alexander for second most in a single season. The Texans turned it over on downs on the next drive, failing to convert at the NE 40. Dri Archer, returning from an earlier injury, got to the edge and broke free for a 59-yard score. Clay Matthews picked off Falk on the next drive and the Patriots started off at the HOU 39 with 4:21 left in the game, up 31-20.

A false start pushed New England back to the 44, a face mask to White put the offense all the away up to the 18. Clowney took down Ta’amu two plays later to setup a third and long. Ta’amu played it safe, dumped it off to white, but Ghostkowski knocked it off the left upright with 1:55 to go, keeping it a 31-20 game. Houston turned it over immediately when Duke Dawson jumped Falk’s first pass. Houston used its three timeout and Ghostkowski made a 33 yarder to make it a 14-point game with 1:27 to play. The Texans got to ball near the end zone, but ,without any timeouts, ran out of time.

Week 17 @ Philadelphia (9-6)W 49-46

QB Ta’amu 16/19 248 YARDS 2 TD
RB J White 15 ATT 157 YARDS 3 TD
RB J White 10 REC 93 YARDS

Injuries: QB T Brady - Elbow - 2-3 WEEKS ; RB R Burkhead - Chest - 3-7 WEEKS ; OT I Wynn - Abdominal - OUT ; C D Andrews- Shoulder - OUT

Philadelphia, PA - New England entered the game on a 14-game winning streak and, technically, undefeated. A lone missed Ghostkowski field goal against the Chiefs in Week 1 was the difference between being 15-0 and 14-0-1. With a first round bye already clinched the Patriots started off the game with all starters, minus Brady who remained sidelined with an elbow injury. James White entered the game with 28 total touchdowns on the year, tied for second most (Shaun Alexander 2005), and three shy of LaDainian Tomlinson’s magical 2006 season.

The Eagles started off with the ball and came away with an opening field goal drive. Ta’amu struggled to start and the Patriots offense went three and out. Went moved the ball into Patriots territory, with Giovani Bernard capping off the drive with a touchdown run. Patriots answered with a one-play 76-yard scoring drive. Edelman got open on a deep crossing route, shook his defender, then juked and dragged the safety into the end zone with him. Philadelphia’s next drive was a three and out, and the Patriots again moved downfield quick. This time it was on a long Patterson play with a roughing penalty tacked on.

New England had the ball at the Eagles 30 with a first and ten to start the 2nd. Michel and White combined to get the ball down to the 1. White ran it in for his 29th total touchdown, putting him alone at second all time in a single season. The Eagles went three and out again, two plays later James White took a zone run 66 yards untouched to put him 1 score away from Tomlinson’s single season record. The next Philadelphia drive ended in a missed field goal, it was a 60-yard attempt by Nick Novak that drifted wide right. New England failed to move the ball and punted it right back. The Eagles moved the ball a little but also punted it back with 4:02 to go in the half. Ta’amu got the offense to the NE 43 by the 2-minute warning. A sack put New England in a second and long situation. White picked up most of the sack yards, but still faced a third and long. Ta’amu broke a first sack attempt, but was taken down by Graham to force a punt. The Eagles couldn’t do anything in the final second and they went into the break trailing 21-10.

On the opening drive of the 3rd Ta’amu broke a 23-yard run to get the ball down to the PHI 38. White got it down to the 20 and three plays later Braxton Miller hauled in a 17-yard touchdown pass. The Eagles responded with a scoring drive of their own, capping off a 10-play drive on a short Bernard rush. White got the next drive going with a 23-yard run. Two plays later he took a dump off to the PHI 35, then taking a 2-yard out an additional 12 yards to setup the offense just outside the redzone. Graham hit Ta’amu late a few plays later to give the Patriots a fresh set of downs at the 11. Archer got to the 6, and two plays later White took a pitch 4 yards for a rushing score. This was White’s 31st score and tied him with Tomlinson for the most total touchdowns in a season. Bad news came after the drive when center David Andrews left the game with a dislocated shoulder.

The Eagles answered with a Bernard rushing score in a quick 6-play drive. On the ensuing kickoff Patterson took it to the house 100 yards to put the Patriots up 42-24. Philadelphia answered right back with a Went score and the game was 42-31 with 7:46 to play. Ta’amu evaded a rush and got it to White who took it across midfield to the PHI 46. Two plays later Michel scored from 43 yards out, having picked up a block on the outside and juked past the cornerback. Wentz hit Bernard on a swing pass to answer with their own score. The Eagles lined up for an onsides kick with 3:46 to go but failed to recover it. White nearly broke free for a score on second down but lost his balance.

After the two minute warning the Patriots were facing a second down, needing nine yards to ice the game. White tried to cut inside on a run but got blindsided and coughed up the ball. A big play for the Eagles since they still had their three timeouts. Philadelphia scored quick on a 55-yard Bernard catch and run and suddenly it was a three point game with 1:10 to go. The Eagles failed an onsides kick again but could get the ball back if they forced a three and out. White picked up 4 yards on first down, Michel got 4 on second, and on third down White bounced a run outside and picked up the game-clinching first down.

2019 Season Recap

2019 Season Recap

Record: 15-0-1

Offensive Rankings

The Patriots offense was a force this season, statistically outperforming the record setting 2007 offense and could go down as possibly the greatest offensive output in history. Only the 2000 St. Louis Rams could argument that their season was more spectacular. Perhaps the only reason the Patriots didn't surpass the Rams statistically was due to the offense's overall efficiency. The offense averaged over 39 points per game, an NFL record, but often started drives in good field position thanks to an opportunistic defense.

Total Offense - 1st
Passing - 1st
Rushing - 10th
Scoring - 1st
Passing TDs - 3rd
Rushing TDs - 1st

Standout Performers

QB Tom Brady - 323/458 4,522 34 TD 14 INT
"An arm injury shortened a potential MVP season for Brady, and possibly his long-term legacy. Brady now has 75,793 career passing yards, just 103 shy of Drew Brees' record 75,896. Brady isn't getting any young, so if he were to retire after this season it would be one record he wouldn't have set. Meanwhile, Brady's 577 career regular season touchdowns puts him at #1 all time, surpassing Brees by 25. Brady also has a chance to get an elusive 6th Super Bowl victory, after coming up short the past two years agains the Eagles and Saints."

RB James White - 137 ATT 693 YARDS 26 TD ; 131 REC 1,190 YARDS 5 TD
"James White statistically had one of the greatest season in NFL history. Although he may wind up short in the MVP race, his name will be in the record books for years to come. His 26 rushing touchdowns is the 4th highest total ever, and his 131 receptions is also the 4th most ever. And he now shares the title of most single season touchdowns with LaDainian Tomlinson."

RB Sony Michel - 202 ATT 1,137 YARDS 11 TD ; 1 REC 3 YARDS 1 TD
"The 2nd-year pro had another solid season, leading the Patriots in rushing yards and finishings Xth in rushing. Although he surprisingly conceded a lot of goal line work to White, he was a force between the 20's racking up big play after big play."

WR Cordarrelle Patterson - 51 REC 983 YARDS 11 TD ; 4 KR 172 YARDS 1 TD
"Patterson's second season with the Patriots will go down as his best as a pro. He set career bests in yards and touchdowns. He's developed into a borderline WR1, but he can struggle in tight coverage. If he can improve in this area 2020 could be his best season yet."

QB Jordan Ta'amu - 43/56 626 YARDS 4 TD 1 INT ; 15 ATT 41 YARDS
"The rookie played a handful of garbage time snaps early in the season and got two starts during Brady's absence. His first series as a starter couldn't have gone any worse; throwing an incompletion, getting sacked, then a pick-six. He bounced back and showed the consistency he displayed in the preseason. He's lack of running was surprising, but a positive sign that he's been working on his passing fundamentals."

The Rams had shot out to an early lead until Jared Goff went down with a broken collarbone early in the second. In stepped Mike White, a 2nd-year QB out of Western Kentucky who had only 13 career pass attempts, and immediately he throws a pick-six. Gurley helped keep the Rams int he game. In the second half White came alive and connected with Kupp for his first touchdown. Later in the 4th White then led a late game-tying drive in the 4th to force overtime, where he threw a clutch third down pass to Woods that led to the eventual game-winning field goal.

Patriots Playoff Recap

The Patriots entered the postseason a bit banged up on offense. Brady missed the final two games of the year with an elbow injury, Rex Burkhead had been sidelined with a chest injury, and two of the starting linemen were out as well (Wynn and Andrews). Fortunately, after going 15-0-1, the Patriots earned a bye week, giving them extra time to heal and prepare for the Divisional round.

Wild Card BYE

Injuries: QB T Brady - Elbow - LIMITED ; RB R Burkhead - Chest - LIMITED ; OT I Wynn - Abdominal - LIMITED ; C D Andrews- Shoulder - OUT

Foxborough, MA - Tom Brady, Rex Burkhead, and Isaiah Wynn all returned to practice in limited action. Brady and Wynn are on pace to play next week, but Burkhead will be a gametime decision. Earlier in the week Rob Gronkowski made it known that he would be retiring after the season. After an injury plagued 2018 campaign, Gronkowski stayed healthy throughout 2019. However, the physicality of his playing style has clearly taken a toll on his body, as his athleticism and mobility has been severely limited all year.

Snow is in the forecast all next week and Foxborough is likely to be a winter wonderland at kickoff. Preparations are already underway to keep the field as clean as possible, but with the weather outlook ahead it appears White and Michel will get a heavy dose of the offense if the snowfall volume is as predicted. As long as there are no setbacks in practice the Patriots look to be ready for the playoffs.

Foxborough, MA - Three days of snow built up around Gillette Stadium, but the stadium crew did an excellent job in maintain a playable field for the playoff matchup. The Jaguars offense sputtered on the opening drive and went three and out. Brady picked up were he left off in Week 16, hitting White on a short out to pick up 7 yards. A holding penalty setup an early third and long, but Brady hit Edelman in stride to move the ball to the JAX 39. Two stuffed runs setup another third and long, again resulting in a chunk pickup for the Patriots, this time on a Brady to Gronk connection to the 21. Brady went 5/5 on the drive, but facing a 4th and inches the Patriots elected to kick a short field goal and take the early lead.

Tyrod Taylor converted an early third down to extend the Jaguars next drive. After Fournette got the offense into the redzone, Jacksonville settled for a field goal of their own. The next Patriots drive began with an 11-yard Michel run. A play action on the next play gave way to a Gordon catch that put New England across midfield. White got tackled by the face mask on the next play to move the ball up to the 26. Two plays later, facing third and long, Brady hit Gronk again to move the ball to the 12. White ran it to the 7, then to the 4. Facing third and two, Brady pitched it to Archer who got tackled behind the line. Ghostkowski knocked it in from 28 to retake the lead.

Later in the 2nd the Jaguars were forced to punt with 3:55 to play. Brady threw his first incompletion when Patterson dropped a deep shot downfield. An overthrow of Edelman on the next play forced a punt back to Jacksonville. A 24-yard reception by Lee sparked a Jaguars drive that ended in an unfortunate Fournette redzone fumble. Brady took back over with 1:49 to go at his own 6. An Edelman drop ended the drive early and Dede Westbrook returned the punt to the NE 45. Marqise Lee scored the games first touchdown with 17 seconds to go in the half, Brady took a knee on the next drive and went into the half down 10-6.

New England opened the 3rd with a bit of urgency, running a more uptempo offense. They quickly crossed midfield on the heels of a couple Michel runs, but a sack forced a third and long at the JAX 41. Facing a fourth and long the Patriots lined up to go for it, but a false start forced them into a punt. Jacksonville used a balanced attack to move downfield, adding a field goal to make it a 7-point game.

The Patriots next drive took them into the 4th. On the first play James White picked up a first down at the JAX 17, but stayed down on the ground grabbing his leg. Archer got the team setup at the 4, then a sack led to a third and goal from the 13. Brady forced a throw to Edelman but got picked by the safety. To make matters worse it was announced that White would not return to the game as he had injured his foot. The Patriots got the ball back quick, forcing the Jaguars to punt after just five plays. New England couldn’t get anything going and punted it back.

A clutch sack of Taylor kept the Jaguars out of field goal range and they had to punt the ball back with 2:03 left in the game. Brady, down 7, needed to go 97 yards to tie the game. Archer picked up 13 to get things going. Patterson dropped a would-be first down, then a strip sack of Brady backed the Patriots all he way up to the 1. Facing a third and twenty-five Edelman picked up twenty and got hit late, giving the Patriots a fresh set of down at their 38. Gronk muscled his way across midfield and Archer got the ball to the 32. Archer then slipped a tackle and took a swing pass to the house to tie the game with 32 seconds left. Jacksonville couldn’t move the ball and punted it away. Patterson made a good return and setup the Patriots at their 45 with 6 seconds left. Brady took a shot downfield but it was picked off and the game went into overtime tied 13-13.

New England won the toss and chose to receive. On the second play Archer squeezed through the line and broke free, running all the way down to the JAX 20. Michel fumbled on the next play but Patterson was alert and jumped on it. Archer took a toss and went untouched into the end zone for the walk off victory!

Divisional Vs Los Angeles (13-3) L 45-31

RB S Michel 3 ATT 13 YARDS

Injuries: RB J White - Foot - QUESTIONABLE ; RB R Burkhead - Chest - QUESTIONABLE ; C D Andrews- Shoulder - OUT

Foxborough, MA - Heavy snow continued to fall for a second consecutive week in New England. James White, who injured his foot last week, and Rex Burkhead were both active for the game. The Patriots moved to their 45 but had to punt away. Los Angeles went three and out, giving the ball back to the Patriots, with Patterson returning the punt to the LAC 43. Two plays later Brady got picked, throwing a jump ball to Gronk who was out-battled by the linebacker. Melvin Gordon got the bulk of the workload on the next drive. After a penalty setup the Chargers in the redzone, Allen caught a 12-yard TD pass for the first points of the day.

New England got the ball back late in the 1st. Three plays later Archer, last weeks hero, fumbled and Melvin Ingram scooped and scored on the play, putting the Patriots down 14-0 after one quarter. A ferocious Chargers pass rush quickly put an end to New England’s drive, forcing a punt after three plays. Los Angeles worked the ball across midfield and capped off another solid drive with a Sturgis field goal. The next Patriots drive saw Gronkowski bulldozing his way down the field and picking up a huge chunk of yards. A face mask to Michel on the next play moved the ball to the LAC 26. Three plays later White took an out route up field to the 3, and finished off the drive himself on the next play. Mike Williams quickly reestablished the Chargers lead on a 62-yard touchdown from Rivers.

Brady got the ball back with 1:43 to go in the half, down 24-7, needing to cut into the lead before halftime. A long completion to Edelman got them to the 50, but a sack three plays later forced a punt. A quick three and out and Brady had the ball back with 18 seconds to go at the NE 44. Patterson got to the 32 with 12 seconds left, but a sack forced New England to use their final timeout. Braxton Miller beat his man and caught a one-handed pass in the end zone, making it a 24-14 Chargers lead at the break.

Los Angeles started the 2nd half off with the ball, getting a short Gordon rushing touchdown after a pass interference penalty set them up at the NE 4. The Patriots went three and out on their first drive. Rivers got the Chargers across midfield, with Allen catching his second touchdown of the game, extending the lead to 38-14. New England was in desperation mode with 3:10 to go in the 3rd, going uptempo to try and save as much clock as possible, and quickly scored with an Edelman 9-yard tiptoe catch with 2:24 on the clock. New England converted a two-point conversion and the score was now 38-22.

The Chargers punted away to start the 4th, and the Patriots again went uptempo on their drive. A pass interference call later in the drive setup the Patriots at the LAC 7. Michel got it to the 2, with White finishing off the drive. A failed two-point try left it a 38-28 game. Los Angeles marched downfield and quickly answered with a Gordon touchdown catch. Edelman later dropped a pass in the end zone, forcing the Patriots to settle for a field goal to make it a 14-point game. New England failed on onsides try, then Melvin Gordon picked up a few crucial first downs allowing Phillip Rivers to kneel out the upset victory. Rivers, the league MVP, finished with 327 yards passing and 5 touchdowns, out-dueling Brady in possibly their final meeting.

2020 Offseason (Part 1)

2020 Offseason (Part 1)

Offseason Headlines

Gronk's Gone, Brady's Back
"It was no surprise when Rob Gronkowski announced this retirement earlier this week, given that he had said a month ago he intended on retiring after the playoffs. What may be a bit surprising is that Brady, who set the career touchdown mark this season, he made it clear he will return for his 21st NFL season. He'll be 44 by the time the season kicks off and, in Week 1, should surpass Drew Brees for the most passing yards in NFL history."

Kareem Hunt Reinstated
"After a year ban from the league, Kareem Hunt is now eligible again to sign. It will be interesting to see which team are interested in signing him. First, he must serve a 6-game suspension lingering from 2018. Next, teams will have to be willing to take on a player who has shown RB1 status, will only be available for 12 games in 2020, and could cause a locker-room distraction."

UPDATE: Kareem Hunt signs multi-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Redskins For Sale?
"Rumors have been swirling around the league that the Washington Redskins could be sold within the next couple of years. Dan Snyder has denied these rumors over the past few months but signs point to it being a strong possibility."

League Signings

LB S Thompson -> BUF

RB K Hunt -> CIN

CB K Fuller -> BUF

RB J Howard -> BUF

WR E Sanders -> CHI

QB M Ryan -> MIN

RB M Breida -> HOU

WR D Jackson -> CIN

WR W Fuller -> BAL

Patriots Offensive Signings
WR Donteea Dye Jr
"We saw him step up a few times in key moments for the Bills last year. I like the way he fights for the ball and could help us on special teams."

TE Scott Orndoff
"I know him from my days with the Jets. He's a good pass catcher and someone who can also help on special teams."

2020 Offseason (Part 2)

2020 Offseason (Part 2)

THE 2020 NFL DRAFT

With the 2020 Draft officially in the books, here is a look at how the top 10 played out. The first five picks were no surprise, although many expected a QB-needy team to trade up into one of those spots. The Bengals made a move and traded up to the 6th pick to select QB Jake Fromm. The Georgia signal caller finished off his college career by out-dueling Clemson's Kelly Bryant in the National Championship game. With Fromm off the board, many anticipated the Falcons or even the Steelers to make a move soon for Bryant.

Instead, and to the surprise of many, the Buccaneers traded back up (from the 14th pick, which they acquired last year from Miami) and drafted Bryant. Many experts tabbed the Heisman-winning quarterback a top-10 pick, but no one expected it to the the Bucs who took him. Clearly Winston's time in Tampa is coming to an end.

Patriots Pre-draft Trade

TRADE ALERT: The Patriots send a third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft for Falcons pass rusher Takk McKinley and a fourth-round pick.

Patriots Draft

Day 1

R1P30 - Traded to Bengals for R2P13 and R6P13.

Day 2

R2P13 - TE Malcolm Kennison, Auburn, 6’6” 265
"On paper he had all the tools to be a first round talent, but had a very inconsistent senior season leaving scouts mixed on him. He has excellent athleticism for his size, outperforming all other TE prospects at the combine. We think he'll fit in well in our system, but he’s got big shoes to fill to replace Gronk."

R2P30 - Trade to Cardinals for R3P10 and R5P10

R3P10 - LB/S Paul Culbreath, Oklahoma, 6’1” 243
“He was a four-year starter at LB for Oklahoma, but he may be a better fit at safety in the NFL. He’s got good speed and vision, but lacks the ability to rush the passer.”

Day 3
R4P28 - OT Javonte Tuten, UCLA, 6’6” 318
“Tutan had an up and down time at UCLA. His senior season was his first time playing at RT. He is a bit of a reach at this spot but could add needed depth at tackle.”

R4P30 - WR Barry Valentine, Georgia Southern, 5’8” 187
“Valentine is a very quick and explosive receiver, but very raw when it comes to running routes. He’ll need to work on this if he wants to make the 53-man roster.”

R5P9 - DE Dallas Zimmerman, Ohio State, 6’6” 287
“The fifth-year senior was buried for most of his time at OSU behind some stellar pass rushers. He put together a solid second half of 2019 and has been rewarded for his hard work.”

R5P10 - OT Khalid Jenkins, LSU, 6’6” 307
“Jenkins, along with earlier pick Tuten, will be fighting for a depth spot in training camp. Jenkins is a decent run blocker who has shown better ability on passing downs.”

R5P30 - RB Gilbert LeBlanc, Liberty, 5’11” 227
“LeBlanc was a bruising running back for Liberty who relied on overpowering smaller linebackers. He’ll have to hit the weights some more if he wants to take on NFL linebackers the same way.”

R6P13 - RB Kevin Hammond, Columbia, 6’2” 237
“We doubled-down on power backs towards the end of the draft. Hammond is slightly bigger than LeBlanc and can lay down the boom just as well.”

R6P30 - CB Donavon Swanson, West Virginia, 6’1” 208
“Swanson is lengthy and athletic, he should be able to find a home on special teams.

R7P30 - S Stuart Street, FIU, 5’10” 204
“He’s athletically gifted by a bit raw fundamentally. A better zone defender than man, he’ll be trying to make the roster as a backup FS.”

2020 Training Camp and Preseason

2020 Training Camp

Training Camp Invites

WR/RB AJ Redd (UDFA), WR Jaron Moss (UDFA), TE Nick O’Leary, WR DeMarcus Robinson, OG Mike Liedtke, OT Aviante Collins

Players Trending Up

TE Braxton Miller
"He's just so shifty, a clear mismatch any time a linebacker covers him. We gotta get the ball in his hands and let him make plays."

RB Kevin Hammon (R)
"He's looked good in camp, a bruising style runner who's also shown he can do a little with his hands. Needs to continue working on his catching game if he wants to make the team."

WR Barry Valentine (R)
"He's very shifty and has surprising quickness. He's quickly been climbing up the depth chart and has worked his way up to 2nd string."

Players Trending Down

WR Chris Hogan
"For the second preseason in roll he's been pretty quiet. With the added depth at wide out his roster spot is in jeopardy."

WR Julian Edelman
"In the same boat as Hogan. He was resigned late into the offseason and has clearly lost a step. His chance of making the team is doubtful."

QB Jordan Ta'amu
"He's looked very poor so far. The 2nd-year pro, who only threw one interception in preseason and two regular-season starts, has been a turnover machine in camp. His roster spot isn't in doubt, but he's spot on the depth chart is."

Re: The Lombardi Pursuit 2.0: A M18 Coaching Career Dynasty

Haha, yeah it was a tough loss. Especially after the comeback against the Jags in the divisional round. I think that was the most exhilarating win I've had in a long time. I don't know if it was the playoff pressure or the snow but my offense felt uncomfortable in both games.

Plus I was so used to seeing my defense make a play to get us back in it. Instead I just watched the super sim hopelessly as the Chargers kept extending drives. Glad the Rams beat em.
