Re: Back to Basics - Seattle Seahawks Madden '19 CFM

No Comeback Needed as Hawks Rout Chiefs

Seattle - After a string of last second comebacks, and games going down to the wire, Seahawks fans could breathe a little easier and relax Sunday night as their team jumped out to an early 21-0 lead, and never looked back coasting to a 38-17 win that kept them in striking distance for a number one seed in the NFC Playoffs. The offense was electric as Russell Wilson carved the Chiefs up for two touchdowns early. Rashaad Penny placed a firm grasp on the starting job rushing for 124 yards and two touchdowns himself. The win also eliminated the Chiefs from playoff contention in a disappointing season for Andy Reid, that has many wondering if the Chiefs may look elsewhere for coaching. The Seahawks will close out the season next Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Re: Back to Basics - Seattle Seahawks Madden '19 CFM

Week 17

Seattle - The regular season will wrap up this Sunday at CenturyLink Field when the Seahawks host the Arizona Cardinals. The Seahawks will know by kickoff if they have anything to play for as a first round bye and home field advantage are still in play for Seattle. Arizona meanwhile will be looking to play spoiler to their division rivals and try to wrap up a disappointing, injury plagued season on a positive note. Sunday could also be the final game in Arizona wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald's sure fire hall of fame career, as he has not committed to playing again next season for the Cardinals. It all gets started at 1:25 pm PST this Sunday.

Re: Back to Basics - Seattle Seahawks Madden '19 CFM

Seahawks Wrap Up Regular Season, Secure First Round Bye

Seattle - It was a rare snowy day in Seattle, which was about the most exciting thing that happened for Seahawks fans on Sunday. Before the game kicked off Seattle was locked into the number two seed following a win by New Orleans Saints, and a loss by the Washington Redskins. With that knowledge in hand Pete Carroll played his starters just a couple series before pulling them, which obviously made Arizona running back David Johnson happy as he had a career day against the Seahawks reserves in a 42-14 win for Arizona to close out the season. Electing not to risk injury to his starters in a meaningless game. Carroll let the starting offense and defense get two series a piece before unloading the bench. Even with that approach the Seahawks did suffer a significant loss as starting center Justin Britt fractured his arm during the first series, and is likely done for the year. Other than that Seattle came out unscathed other than on the scoreboard, as Arizona kept their starters in throughout and ran it up on the Seattle reserves. David Johnson had a game to remember rushing for a career high 281 yards and four touchdowns. Seattle will get a week off before hosting a divisional round playoff game in two weeks at CenturyLink Field.

Re: Back to Basics - Seattle Seahawks Madden '19 CFM

I rarely post, but after catching up on your franchise I have to say I legitimately enjoy your writing and layout. Very fun to read.. Excellent year for your hawks, not so much for my Raiders, but hopefully we get a stud in the draft. A bit of a bummer with not getting home field, but with how clutch your team is, it might not matter. Good luck in the playoffs. And are you playing as the coach or owner?

Re: Back to Basics - Seattle Seahawks Madden '19 CFM

You mention the Hawks in prime time in the Week 16 preview, and I think that's one of the things I have enjoyed the most about the Hawks in the Pete era. I was so surprised that they couldn't get anything together in Dallas, I think everybody just assumed they still couldn't play D even though the stats said they were good. At least I was guilty of it. I thought Russell would shred them if he had to. Back to the matter at hand...

Glad to see Penny panning out somewhere. I think he will have a solid career, but love Carson too. Ed Dickson coming up huge.

Love the playoff scenario discussion - The, "if the season ended today which it doesn't and it's stupid to even talk about" stuff...

Britt is a significant loss. So Seahawky to have that happen.

Good luck in the playoffs, Glen.
