Wyoming Extends Winning Streak to 5 by Crushing Utah State

This game really was never close.

Wyoming's electric offense dominated the game early, with two touchdowns in each of the first two quarters. From that point forward, they chewed out the clock on their way to an easy victory.

Tyler Vander Waal was brilliant, throwing for 254 yards and 4 touchdowns while only throwing 3 incomplete passes. Nico Evans was just as fantastic in his own right, topping 100 yards once again with 171 rushing yards and a touchdown on 26 carries.

Next week poses an interesting match-up for the Cowboys, as offensive coordinator Joshua Morgan will be facing his former college coach in Fresno State head coach Jeff Tedford. The Bulldogs have struggled to open the 2018 season but are not a team that the Cowboys can afford to look over as they attempt to grow their winning streak to 6 games.

Wyoming Takes Care of Fresno State Behind Big Day from Overstreet

It was not a great sight for Wyoming fans when their star running back Nico Evans went down with an injury late in the first quarter.

Evans was named the starter a few weeks into the season after initially being beaten out for the starting job to start the season. Evans has rushed for over 100 yards in every single one of his games as starters, establishing himself as one of the top running backs in college football.

However, Kellen Overstreet has proven to be a solid backup ever since he was demoted from the starting job, and today he showed that he is more than capable of manning the starting job if need be. Overstreet was electric, rushing for a 44-yard touchdown on only his second carry of the game. Overstreet finished with 162 yards on 22 carries and two total touchdowns, as he also added a receiving touchdown in the fourth quarter that officially put the game away.

This Wyoming team, and especially the offense, has been rolling as of late, as this is now their sixth consecutive win as they remain undefeated in conference play. Their winning streak will be seriously challenged next week as they face perennial MWC power Boise State at home.

Kellen Overstreet Wins MWC Offense Player of the Week

For the second time this season, Kellen Overstreet was named the MWC OPOTW. Also for the second time this season, he did it without entering the game as the starter.

The first time he got the honor from coming in during a blowout and making it an even bigger blowout with a huge performance. This time, it came in relief for starter Nico Evans after he went down with an injury at the end of the first quarter.

Overstreet was fantastic, rushing for 162 yards on 22 carries and scoring two total touchdowns. Nico Evans has been great for the Cowboys, but they certainly seem to be in fine hands if he is forced to miss any time with his injury.

Nico Evans Breaks Elbow, May Miss Rest of Season

The Wyoming Cowboys received terrible news earlier this morning when it was announced that star running back Nico Evans had suffered a broken elbow. The injury will require surgery and puts the rest of his Senior season in jeopardy.

Evans has been brilliant ever since taking over the starting running back job in Week 3, rushing for over 100 yards in each of his games as the starter and becoming one of the best running backs in the FBS.

Luckily for the Cowboys, they have a great backup in Kellen Overstreet, who was just named the MWC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Fresno State filling in for Evans. Despite this, losing Evans is a huge blow to the Cowboys offense that has carried the team to six consecutive victories.

Re: Rise to the Top: The Coaching Career of Joshua Morgan (NCAA 14)

Have a bunch of free time today so I am looking to get in as many updates as possible. Already have two games posted today, hoping to get as close as I can to the end of the 2018 season by the end of today so we can continue to move forward with this dynasty! Plus I have finals this upcoming week so it might be tough to post throughout the week. Regardless, I have some very exciting plans for this dynasty and can't wait to see what you all think!

CJ Johnson may be the most underrated player on this team between the way the running backs have played plus Vander Waal. Guarantee he is an All-American.

Yeah for sure. Running backs have been getting a lot of the attention as well as Vander Waal, and rightfully so, but Johnson has been amazing and is even getting Biletnikoff attention. Appreciate you following along with the dynasty!
