Ah, got ya! I knew they weren’t quite accurate as of NCAA 07, but I wasn’t sure how far out of date they were. Good to know!

Your Carnegie Mellon dynasty piqued my interest, too! Fortunately, my Yale team is not quite as bad! I toyed around creating a team using the “cupcake” archetype before deciding on this, but I don’t know how I could’ve kept teams under 100 with the complete lack of speed those generated rosters had! And never mind passing (QB couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn, literally) or blocking, or anything really!

Buffalo Blanks Yale in Bulldogs' FBS Debut

BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo Bulls (1-0) gave the Yale Bulldogs (0-1) a rude awaking in their FBS debut as the Bulls blanked the visiting team 45-0 in both teams' season-openers.

The Bulls got off to a slow start, but eventually pulled out to a 17-0 halftime lead, and extended their lead to 38-0 by the end of the third quarter en route to a 45-0 win.

Sophomore quarterback Jake Burrell threw for 287 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions to lead the Bulls. Ryan Smith (10 Rec, 87 Yds, 3 TD), Dominique Tompkins (4 Rec, 107 Yds, 2 TD), and Anthony Mills (1 Rec, 9 Yds, TD) caught touchdowns on the day. Albert Austin also had a solid game running the football for the Bulls with 77 rushing yards on 13 carries.

Yale struggled mightily to move the football and only attained a single first down all game until their final drive late in the fourth quarter against Buffalo's backups. The Bulldogs earned four of their five first downs on their final drive of the game, but they failed on a 4th and 1 attempt from inside the Buffalo five-yard line with under 30 seconds left and the Bulls secured the coveted shutout.

Even with the final drive factored in, the Bulldogs amassed just 123 yards of offense, including -4 yards on the ground (granted, this was skewed by three sacks). The passing game was little better as the Yale offensive line struggled to block in the passing game, as well. Senior signal caller Jeff McNamara threw for 127 yards on the day, but most of his yards came against Buffalo's second unit.

"Needless to say, we've got a lot to work on," explained Yale head coach Lee Williamson, who was coaching his first collegiate game today. "There weren't a lot of positives to take for us out there today. We struggled in basically every facet of the game."

The road doesn't get any easier here for Yale. Next week, they will host No. 10 Louisville, followed by a road game at Minnesota the following week.

Yale Scores First Points of Season, but No. 7 Cardinals Roll 45-3

NEW HAVEN, CT - No. 7 Louisville (2-0) took care of business this evening at the Yale Bowl, defeating first-year FBS member Yale 45-3 in front of the Bulldogs' home crowd.

Yale (0-1) did have something to celebrate tonight as they got their first points of the year, a 31-yard field goal by sophomore place kicker Jason Burrell in the third quarter to cut Louisville's lead to 31-3 at the time. The Bulldogs also undoubtedly played much better than in last week's 45-0 blanking by Buffalo considering the increased level of competition the No. 7 team in the country brought.

Still, it was never close from beginning to end. The Cardinals led 14-0 after the first quarter and 24-0 at halftime. The Bulldogs never seriously threatened.

Standout running back Michael Bush showed why he's a Heisman candidate with a 165-yard, two touchdown performance for the Cardinals. Quarterback Brian Brohm also had an efficient day, completing 10/15 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns. Patrick Nash led the Cardinals in receiving with four catches for 88 yards and a touchdown.

Senior tight end Lance Pressley had a nice game today for Yale as he showed why he's one of the best players on the team. The 6'2" product hauled down eight catches and racked up 93 yards. The passing game was much more efficient for Yale today as senior quarterback Jeff McNamara passed for 168 yards and a pick. However, the Bulldogs still couldn't get much done on the ground. Running back Thomas Moore managed just 16 rushing yards on nine attempts, and overall the Bulldogs rushed for -11 yards when accounting for lost sack yardage. Recall the Bulldogs rushed for -4 yards last week against Buffalo.

"We have to be able to run the football to maintain possession of the football, but right now we just aren't blocking up front," said Yale head coach Lee Williamson. "That surely has to change. It's understandable against a team with the defensive talent of Louisville, but we also couldn't manage to run the ball at all last week. We have to do better. We don't have the weapons in the passing game to be one-dimensional."

Next, Yale travels to Minneapolis, MN to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers next Saturday.

Re: Yale Bulldogs (NCAA Football 07)

In all the threads I have read and all the years of Dynasty reporting, I don't think I can say I have ever seen a team actually have negative rushing yards in back to back games. It's going to be a long season....

Points are a positive, especially against a ranked foe! This is going to be quite the rebuild though, even more so when you consider the recruiting guidelines and academic standards you put in place.
