Navy Thrashes Yale 56-3

ANNAPOLIS, MD - Yale (1-11) got a cold dose of reality after their win against Harvard last weekend as they returned to FBS competition for their season finale. Navy (8-3) hosted Yale and dominated in every facet of the game, winning 55-3.

Navy outgained Yale 431-146 and totaled 343 yards rushing today. Derrick Robinson led the way with 126 yards rushing and two touchdowns. James Cook also rushed for 117 yards and a score and Dwayne Collins added a 46-yard rushing touchdown.

Navy's defense did a number on the Yale offense as the Bulldogs were held to -8 yards rushing and just 154 yards through the air. Senior quarterback Jeff McNamara managed just 154 yards passing and an interception in his final collegiate game.

Yale kept the game close initially, but an 82 yard punt return really swung momentum late in the first quarter. Yale followed up with a field goal early in the second quarter, but from there Navy scored the final 42 points of the game.

Yale finishes the season 1-11 with their only win against FCS rival Harvard. Navy has next week off, but will face Army in their season finale in two weeks.

Re: Yale Bulldogs (NCAA Football 07)

Will be interesting to see what kind of recruits you can pull in after a 1-11 season. You need so much O-Line help it's not funny.. Maybe a RB who can fall forward sooner and a QB who takes less sacks so you could end more games with a positive rushing stat. On Defense it looks like you need anyone who has any sort of coverage skills or the ability to tackle.

Yale going full 76ers this year and having a "trust the process" season, aha. Hopefully things are looking up for next season.

Yeah, shoring up the defense and the offensive line will be my priorities. Of course, it's going to be slim pickings out there as a 1* school with one win and hardly any recruiting points, so I'm basically going to have to take anyone I can get. In a lot of positions, we literally can't get any worse since the auto-generated walk-ons we'll get will be better than a lot of the players I have on the roster now.
