Week 3, 2021. Seahawks Pick Off Cousins Three Times

PSX_20210113_200235.jpg

Seahawks (1-2) 27 - Vikings (1-2) 24

The Vikings come up short for the second time in three games as QB Cousins throws three picks and loses two fumbles. That stat line shows how fortunate the Vikings were to only be a field goal dowm at the end of the game. Neither team blew away the other with offense and minus the turnovers, the teams were pretty even.

Mattison used his first game as a starter in 2021 to rush for over 100 yards, but the team felt his difference in the air. Cousins, as he was being tackled, got a pass off to Mattison on a screen, and 75-yards later, he was in the endzone after great blocking by the line, receivers, and tightend gave him free reign of the field.

The Seahawks came until the game needing a win as they sat at 0-2, and they took advantage of the Vikings' five turnovers.

Vikings
QB Cousins, 18/31, 273 yards, 3 TD/3 INT
RB Mattison, 21 carries, 114 yards, 2 catches, 88 yards, TD
WR Toney, 5 catches, 40 yards, 2 TD
LB Kendricks, 9 tackles

Seahawks
QB Wilson, 22/46, 235 yards, 2 TDs
RB Carson, 26 carries, 102 yards, 5 catches, 37 yards, TD
WR Lockett, 7 catches, 84 yards
WR Dissly, 3 catches, 19 yards, TD
LB Wagner, 9 tackles, TFL
DT Reed, 4 tackles, 2 sacks

Lions Lose Star WR Kenny Holladay for the Year

PSX_20210113_203100.jpg

The Lions have lost their star WR Golladay for the rest of the year after he suffered a fractured knee cap in week three. The Lions hope he is ready to go for the 2022 season.

Week 4, 2021. Foles, Turnovers Doom Vikings

PSX_20210113_205550.jpg

Bears (2-2) 41 - Vikings (1-3) 28

The Vikings led at halftime, but turnovers, a neutralized running game, and Nick Foles second half ignites the Bears. Neither teams running game made an impact on the yards game, but both quarterbacks threw for over 350 yards a piece, but one played a clean game, while the other threw two interceptions while losing a fumble.

Mattison came back to earth after his 100-yard rushing game and ran for just over 2-yards a carry as the Bears' defense swarmed him all day.

The Vikings have Trevor Lawrence his first real game experience, letting him control the offense for the final drive. He overthrew his first two targets significantly, showing the rookie jitters. He completed one of three passes for 18 yards.

The Bears now sit at second in the NFC North as the Vikings try to hold off the Lions for the fourth spot.

Vikings
QB Cousins, 23/32, 359 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT, Rushing TD
RB Mattison, 13 carries, 28 yards, TD
WR Toney, 10 Catches, 208 yards, 2 TDs
SS Smith, 11 tackles
DE Griffen, 6 tackles, 2 sacks

Bears
QB Foles, 33/45, 365 yards, 2 TDs
RB Cohen, 11 carries, 29 yards, 2 TDs
RB Montgomery, 11 carries, 29 yards, TD
WR Robinson, 13 catches, 148 yards, TD
WR Dissly, 9 catches, 76 yards, TD
LB Smith, 8 tackles, TFL
LB Mack, 7 tackles, TFL, 2 sacks

With Bye Week Looming, Media and Fans Calling For Lawrence

With the Vikings entering their bye week and sitting at 1-3, the Media Outlets have questioned why the Vikings have not benched Cousins in favor of getting Lawrence a year of experience under his belt. The fans have been demanding change since the team drafted Lawrence in the first round, but the coaching staff seems content leaving Cousins in charge.

Rumors at this time are that the Vikings are not willing to bench Cousins, but his leash may be short.

Packers, Broncos, and 49ers Last Remaining Undefeateds

PSX_20210113_214412.jpg

Aaron Rodgers, Drew Lock, and Jimmy Garoppolo have their respective teams undefeated a fourth of the way through the season.

Which team is real, and which is a pretender?

Who will be the first to fall?

Yeah I think it’s time to hand to keys to Lawrence.

Week 6, 2021. Vikings Rushing Attack Unstoppable Against Cards

PSX_20210113_213237.jpg

Vikings (2-3) 40 - Cardinals (2-3) 16

The Vikings hit the ground running early, and the Cardinals never had an answer. On top of Mattison's career game, Boone came in to give Mattison a breather and broke off a 75-yard touchdown run, untouched. The Vikings sat Cousins for the fourth quarter to give Lawrence some game experience, and he scored his first touchdown on a scramble as the pocket broke down, diving into the endzone for six.

Cousins spread the ball around to eight different receivers on the day. After this big win, the Vikings hoped to calm down the talk of Lawrence being thrust into the starting role, but the plays he made with his legs made the murmurs become louder.

Rookie K Ruiz also hit a career long 53-yard field goal with plenty of room to spare. He has not missed a field goal since Week 1

Vikings
QB Cousins, 15/24, 251 yards, TD/INT
QB Lawrence, 1/2, 34 yards, 3 carries, 26 yards, TD
RB Mattison, 27 carries, 141 yards, 2 TDs
RB Boone, 9 carries, 111 yards, TD
WR Toney, 4 catches, 79 yards
TE Smith Jr., 2 catches, 51 yards, TD
DE Hunter, 5 tackles, TFL

Cardinals
QB Murray, 14/31, 204 yards, 2 TDs
RB Drake, 3 carries, 12 yards
WR Isabella, 6 catches, 93 yards, TD
WR Kirk, 4 catches, 64 yards, TD
LB Hicks, 13 tackles, .5 sack
SS Baker, 10 tackles
