The Vikings slid into the final spot of the NFC Playoffs with their upset of NFC North Rival Packers; however, every team in the league has a chance to make the playoffs, still, and no team has clinched a berth.

Vikings Resign RT O'Neill, In Negotiation With FS Smith

PSX_20210116_100648.jpg

The Vikings have reached a two year extension with their right tackle Brian O'Neill. He has arguably been the team's top offensive lineman, and they looked to reward him.

On the other side of the ball, the team is talking to their top defensive playmaker Harrison Smith to get an extension done, but neither side has been able to agree on the financials.

Game Day.jpg

Week 13, 2021. Rudolph's Career Day Propels Vikings

PSX_20210116_104644.jpg

Vikings (7-5) 35 - Ravens (7-5) 31

Despite struggles with the Ravens' defensive front, allowing 3.5 sacks to DE Yannick Ngakoue, the Vikings pulled out a nail biter at home. On the Ravens' final play of the game, a fourth and goal pass for nine yards came up four yards short of the endzone with one second left, sealing the Vikings' win.

TE Kyle Rudolph exploded a day after the team considered giving TE Irv Smith Jr. the start. Rudolph ran wide open all day and barely missed out on a fourth touchdown of the day after catching an ill-advised pass from QB Trevor Lawrence to Smith Jr. that was tipped by a Ravens' defender.

Cook was held to under 100 yards again, but he converted significant third down runs in the fourth to allow the Vikings to bleed the clock a little.

Vikings
QB Lawrence, 16/22, 326 yards, 4 TDs, INT
HB Cook, 16 carries, 84 yards, TD
TE Rudolph, 5 catches, 205 yards, 3 TDs
WR Jefferson, 4 catches, 50 yards, TD
LB Kendricks, 9 tackles

Ravens
QB Jackson, 24/37, 326 yards, TD, INT, 12 carries, 58 yards, TD
RB Dobbins, 12 carries, 49 yards, TD
RB Ingram II, 7 carries, 18 yards, TD, 9 catches, 138 yards
WR Duvernay, 3 catches, 59 yards, TD
LB Barnes, 11 tackles, 4 TFL
DE Ngakoue, 6 tackles, 3.5 sacks

Despite their win, the Minnesota Vikings have fallen out of the playoffs, with the Atlanta Falcons overtaking them for the seventh seed.

I'm the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs fell out of the playoffs, and the Cincinnati Bengals moved their way in.

Unbeaten since Lawrence has taken over despite a few games with no solid running advantage. I think it's only a matter of time until you secure a playoff spot even though you dropped out recently.

Do you play H2H against any teams you are directly battling for a spot?

Unfortunately, I do not. But, I will be rooting for the Bills because they play the Falcons and the Buccs still. If we keep winning, and they at least beat the Falcons, we should be able to get in.

Week 14, 2021. Cook Rushes Into Record Books

PSX_20210116_220405.jpg

Vikings (8-5) 58 Eagles (4-9) 17

When Cook stepped on the field today, it was as if he was a grown man amongst 21 boys. Every time he touched the ball, it felt as if he would take it all the way. 35 carries later, Cook ended his day with 307 rushing yards and five touchdowns, breaking former Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson's yards record, as well as tying the league record of five touchdowns. Coach Zimmer said after the game "Why fix what wasn't broken?" when asked about Cook having such a high load today.

Mine Hughes helped Cook pick up those touchdowns by picking Carson Wentz off twice in the Eagles own territory, giving Cook a short field to play with. Danielle Hunter played a huge role in defense, too, picking up three sacks to slow the Eagles offense down.

Vikings
QB Lawrence, 15/20, 215 yards, TD, INT, 1 carry, 12 yards, TD
HB Cook, 35 carries, 307 yards, 5 TDS, 4 catches, 40 yards
WR Jefferson, 3 catches, 57 yards, TD
LB Barr, 8 tackles, TFL
CB Hughes, 7 tackles, 2 INTs
DE Hunter, 3 tackles, 3 sacks

Eagles
QB Wentz, 24/35, 249 yards, 2 INT
RB Sanders, 9 carries, 24 yards, TD
WR Ward Jr., 11 catches, 90 yards
CB Slay Jr., 10 tackles, 2 TFL
DT Cox, 9 tackles, TFL, FR, TD

The Vikings moved into the sixth seed with their win over the Philadelphia Eagles. They join the Washington Redskins as the newest entries in the NFC Playoffs, as the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks fall out of the picture.
