Florida State's Defense Dominates in Victory Over Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Florida State's defense would prove themselves against Virginia after falling early in the second 10-3, they would finish the game giving up only 13 points in the 33-13 victory. Chubba Purdy would improve throughout the game after two early interceptions. He would go on to throw for over 400 yards and four touchdowns.

Florida State would struggle early as Purdy would throw an interception on the first drive to Jaylon Baker. This would lead to a 21 yard touchdown pass from Brennan Armstrong to Lavel Davis Jr. to put Virginia up 7-0. Florida State would respond with a 29 yard field goal to make it 7-3.

Virginia would start the second quarter responding with a field goal of their own from 25 yards out to make it 10-3. From this point, Florida State wouldn't look back. Ryan Fitzgerald would hit a 47 yarder to make it 10-6. Warren Thompson would get a 46 yard pass from Purdy to make 13-10. Virginia would have a chance after picking off Purdy again, but Jamaal Motley would miss the 52 yard field goal. Purdy would find La'Damian Webb for a three yard touchdown pass to make it 20-10 at the half.

The second half would be a lot less exciting. Purdy would find Kentron Poitier for a three yard touchdown pass, but Fitzgerald would miss the extra point, making it 26-10. Purdy would throw his final touchdown pass to Lawrence Toafili coming out of the backfield to make it 33-10. Motley would hit a 42 yard field goal late in the third to give us the final score of 33-13. Fitzgerald would miss a 34 yarder and Chris Anthony would fumble late in the fourth for Virginia.

Re: Bombing Run | A NCAA 14 Coaching Legacy

It is a possibility that this ends, not cuz I want it to. I'm at Week 13 and can't play the game, cuz it keeps glitching me to the 1 yard line over and over again. I've never seen this glitch before so no idea how to fix it. I'm gonna try a few things, even simming past it and trying the next game and seeing if it does the same thing. Worst case I could make this a sim only dynasty but I really don't want to. I have a backup file but it's just from the beginning of the same week so no idea if that one will work differently but it's possible.

EDIT: Update, I was able to get it to work with just using the backup file. This is why you keep backup files, kids!

Re: Bombing Run | A NCAA 14 Coaching Legacy

Big Fourth Quarter Propels Florida State Past Tar Heels

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State continues it's early unbeaten run to 3-0 behind new offensive coordinator Kurtis Diaz's high-powered offense. After a close first half, the offense (and defense) hit another gear as the Seminoles would take out North Carolina 50-38.

The first quarter would start with Florida State driving down into the redzone but they would fail to punch it in and would have to settle for a Ryan Fitzgerald 27 yard field goal to make it 3-0. North Carolina would respond later with a three yard touchdown run by Robert Harris to make it 7-3.

The second quarter would be where both teams would trade punches. First another field goal by Fitzgerald would make it 7-6. Then Florida State would take the lead with a five yard touchdown pass from Chubba Purdy to Bryan Robinson to make it 13-7. North Carolina responded with another one on the ground, this time from Jason Hill to make it 14-13. Purdy would try to force the issue and get picked off by Kyler McMichael. The Tar Heels would settle for a 36 yard field goal from Jonathan Kim to expand the lead 17-13. Chubba Purdy would then find Bryan Robinson on a beautiful 30 yard pass to the endzone to make it 20-17. North Carolina would respond as Harris would find Khafre Brown on a short three yard touchdown to make it 24-20 Tar Heels. Purdy would end the half with a 26 yard shot to Hank Jenkins for the touchdown and the 27-24 lead.

The Tar Heels wasted no time in the third as Harris would connect with Brown once again for a 40 yard touchdown pass to make it 31-27. Florida State would take their time driving up the field and follow up with a Lawrence Toafili run to make it 34-31 entering the fourth.

Harris would make a crucial mistake as he was intercepted by Jarvis Brownlee Jr. Florida State would fail to capitalize however and North Carolina would take the chance. Harris would find Josh Downs on a 24 yard touchdown pass to make it 38-34 North Carolina. Florida State would end it there. Purdy finds Kentron Poitier for a 36 yard pass to take the lead 41-38. Then Josh Henderson fumbles and it's scooped up by Florida State's Amari Gainer. The Seminoles would drive down the field and Toafili would punch in his second from one yard out to make it a 47-38 lead as Fitzgerald misses the extra point. Fitzgerald would kick one last late field goal from 31 yards out to make it 50-38 and the score would stand.

Re: Bombing Run | A NCAA 14 Coaching Legacy

Seminoles Trample Through Struggling Wake Forest

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State got a huge win over Wake Forest who now falls to 0-3. Florida State improves to 4-0 after dismantling the Demon Deacons 69-10. Chubba Purdy had a near perfect game going 29/36 with 395 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. The run game was no slouch either as the Seminoles had a combined 174 yards and four touchdowns, something you don't see often out of this pass-heavy offense.

The first quarter would start the game off close. Purdy would find halfback Lawrence Toafili out of the backfield for an eight yard touchdown pass to make it 7-0. Wake Forest would respond with a three yard run from Sam Hartman to tie it up. Purdy would be intercepted by Isaiah Isaac and that would lead to a 37 yard field goal to make it 10-7. Florida State wouldn't look back after this and drive down the field and score on a two yard run from fullback Adam Ross to make it 14-10.

Florida State would start the second quarter driving down for a 44 yard field goal by Ryan Fitzgerald to make it 17-10. Wake Forest halfback Kenneth Walker III (sorry MSU fans he didn't transfer in this universe) would fumble and it would be recovered by Cameron Carpenter. This would lead to a one yard touchdown run by Toafili to make it 24-10. Before the half, Florida State would have one more left in them as Purdy would punch it in from two yards out to make it 31-10.

The second half would follow suit as the second quarter and be all Seminoles. Toafili would get his second receiving touchdown of the game on a 16 yard pass from Purdy to make it 38-10. Fitzgerald would kick a 41 yard field goal to make it 41-10. Toafili would get his second rushing touchdown and his fourth total touchdown of the day and they would take a commanding 48-10 lead. Purdy would find Bryan Robinson one yard out to make it 55-10 heading into the final quarter.

The backups picked up where the starters left off in the third and La'Damian Webb would get a seven yard touchdown run to make it 62-10. Jordan Travis would find McKinley Kemp for a 26 yard touchdown pass to wrap things up 69-10. Finally putting an end to this beat down.
